One of the crazy things that only Diehard fans of Eminem catch is in the 3rd verse when STAN says "I'm almost at the bridge now" the song actually was almost at the bridge of the track while Stan also being at the bridge to drive his car off of....... In my opinion I think this is the most perfectly written song in the history of HipHop & possibly music in general. Every single line in the song has a purpose, there was zero filler in the song at all. He tells a story from beginning to End with absolute perfection. Alot of people try to clown on me when I say that I think EMINEM is the greatest story teller in HipHop. This song could be turned into a movie written my M.Knighf Shyamalan & it would be such an amazing movie because it's that great of writing

Phil Collins has explained the song and he never found a guy at a concert etc. he never saw a guy watch someone drown etc. This is an example of someone misinterpreting lyrics like multiple layered. Stan is misinterpreting also the point of slim shady and Eminem. Neither is the real person. Marshal Mathers is the real person. The music he likes is art and not to be taken as literal. Stan misinterprets Phil Collin’s music and lyrics too inside this song. It’s so well done!!
