    I'm currently making this baby blanket and it's turning out great so far! I'm still new to crocheting and this is a great tutorial! The instuctions are clear and it helps a lot! However, I would like to say to anyone else who is making this baby blanket, some yarn is rougher than others so pick a softer one. When i was geting yarn for this project i thought to myself "if i was a baby would i like this?" I remeber geting a crocheted blanket from my aunt when I was a baby and I never used it because it wasnt soft enough. When I was geting yarn, I swear i touched all of them to find the softest one. The softest one I found was loops & threads soft and shiny! Its really soft and i can say "if I was a baby I would like this!" Thanks so much for the tutorial btw!

    I had never thought of weaving yarn through the big holes alongside the border. They’re not very noticeable and they do give the blanket a more polished finish. Genius! 😊 Thank you for this tutorial.

    This video cam up in my feed and I had to watch. I was giggling because I am working on a baby blanket right now and I am already using this stitch. It is a lovely stitch for baby blankets. I do start and end mine with a SC because it makes putting the border on easier and there are no gaps. Excellent video. One of the best tutorials I have seen yet.

    I got several skeins/rolls of Bernat Blanket (#6 super chunky chenille in teal dreams)when I first started out loom knitting a yr.& 1/2ago,& haven't used it yet..It didn't look like it would produce the look I had hoped for originally,so I've had it set aside 4 a while now..FFW 2 now & I just learned how 2 crochet the basic stitches mainly,starting a few months ago. Amyway,I have several sizes/ kinds of hooks & I tried 2 use the Bernat on 1 the main hook that I felt was best size 4 it & that I use the most on bulky-super,I think it's aluminum size N15/10mm gold aluminum or steel by boye..Well it just doesn't feel or move right on other smaller hooks & looks bad 2,no matter what I use. I have ocd 2 & am a perfectionist so I keep frogging the chain or few stitches I've done like immediately after I've made a sample size amt...Idk what 2 do. I read that a lot of ppl.find this yarn difficult 2 work with,but I can't return it nor afford 2 not use it ever,& prob.since I'm not super experienced I'm still not great w/tension..Does any1 know if it would help if u use my plastic P 16/11.5size or another lg.size in a plastic hook, or just stick w/heavier metal?& need 2 go buy a diff.size(the next & only bigger hook I have,is a plastic Q17/15.5size)? Maybe I should just try it on a diff.loom,w/a thinner guage/distance btwn.pegs & a stockinette stitch/something plain & try 2 accept however it turns out,lol...

    Is there a better way to avoid creating an inconsistency in the look with respect to the initial border row (from 20:45 to 21:30)? It really sticks out like a sore thumb from that point and beyond. Especially at 34:30.
    If I could suggest, I found that stitching only 7DC at each corner removes the ballooning that happens. It does not affect the comfort at corners when alternating FPDC & BPDC on Border Round 3.
    Thank you for sharing this video. I love the lighting as it really offers a clear view of the amount of stitches. Moreso of those placed between corners to keep even stitch counts so that our work is square. 😊

    This pattern is great for beginners to learn telling your sc, ch and dc's apart! I've just started this, and I'm wondering if it's normal for the foundation chain to curve as you build the first few rows? I'm not sure if there's something wrong with my tension, the yarn, or it's just a "trust the process" kind of thing.

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  Před měsícem

      Hello! Thank you! You may see a slight curve in the first few rows but it should straighten up quickly. If you are still seeing a curve after approx. 6-8 rows, you may need to make your chain row and Row 1 again with a larger hook. Hope that helps!

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Thank you! It works up really quickly! Definitely one of my faster blanket patterns. I can’t remember the exact time it took. What you could do is see how long it takes you to do a row and then multiply that by 96 (which is how many rows I made) and then add some time for the border. Hope you enjoy making it!

    Thank you for this tutorial. You make it easy to follow along. I’m new to crochet but would like to try this. My “baby” is all grown up but would like to make a larger version for him and myself. How many chains should be used to make a queen sized blanket? I looked at your site but wasn’t sure how to tackle this. Thank you again 😊

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Thank you for your comment and kind words! This pattern is made from the bottom up. The number of starting chains determines the width and the number of rows determines the height. To adjust the width, make less or more starting chains in multiples of 2 + 2 (an even number). To adjust the height, make less or more rows.
      I really wish I could help and tell you how many chains you will need for another size but I’ve only designed, made and tested the pattern with the specific size listed in the pattern. You are welcome to adjust the size by following the instructions I’ve provided above. Hope this helps!

    • @1rayne
      @1rayne Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@jototheworldcreations thank you. I understand this can be tricky. Perhaps I should pull out a tape measure and make note of the baby blanket measurements that may help me to figure out how many more chains to make. It can also be different if pertaining what size yarn and hook you use as well. So many variables! 😆 The pattern is so lovely I want to figure this puzzle out.

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hi there! The reason some patterns indicate where in the chain to work into is because how you work into the chain can impact the overall look of the finished piece. For example, for some baby blanket patterns with borders, working into the top loops of the chain in Row 1 can create large unwanted gaps between the blanket body and the blanket border. Working into the back ridge loops however, eliminates these gaps for a much nicer transition between the blanket body and border.
      You are welcome to adjust the pattern and make it as a scarf. Instructions for adjusting the size are included in the pattern. I wish I could tell you how many chains to make but I have only designed, made and tested this pattern as a blanket, not as a scarf (yet).

Try skipping 2 stiches. Let me know how that works out for you. I'm trying it and am working a SC at the ends for a more straight edge. 😊

    Hi
    (Excuse maybe bad grammar as my 2nd language and grammar even after lots if years stays atrocious )
    I am new at your channel and also at “professional crochet lady groups - this online one)
    I like this baby blanket stitch for the “full” no holes look of the main blanket for a top with short arms - above a summer long flowery skirt.
    As I want to change a light cloth, A-line skirt to a dress - no pattern - just my idea for a project I might like I can crochet basic only and try to learn from you (I did a daughter dress in my only known by me “loose 3 double stitches in one hole” kind of pattern that I guessed how to by holding a lot onto the child to guess the add and subtract myself in the no pattern dress myself)
    I only know that partial flower petal stitch which might be the wrong name as I made it up without instruction from anybody that time as a young woman being my own a 2nd stitch pattern against simple you call (?) 1 cs stitch (?) …
    I am now looking at CZcams videos for better inspiration … in opposite of that one only crochet creation I ever did: that one child/pattern dress worked well turning out a swingy at bottom dress with 2 white lines at the very bottom to make the bottom dress and bottom short arms interesting in a lilac yarn dress (-/ it survived by the way through another daughter saving it for about 55 years - such a long time - to now have her granddaughter wear that - made by great grandma - me - ancient 🫢🙃sort of dress 😮☺️ …some tough yarn it must be ! And it survived coming from Germany! …came along in our suitcases Haha “made in Germany” sort of design label I guess it could have for fun
    I like your instruction which is very clear with kind voice makes a charming video which is very easily followed 👏🏻
    - I suppose I will take forever guessing how many stitches by my own measurements I need to even start ( I assume starting the activity at my waist - the half front part not all the way around but in two pieces ) and - as I like your edging stitch around the blanket too, even that type stitch can be used up the continuing upright both sides edges before to be closed together when finished - then first starting the arms from a full opening by continuously holding at myself to decide when what to be subtracted or added to end up hopefully fitting …
    I never thought I could “follow a crochet pattern as I am more of a sewing hobbyist - mainly a hand sewing (as my sewing machine that was too cheap and it broke a couple of years ago and hadn’t been replaced yet)
    I very much admired the ladies in Canada who were and still are smarter than I was, the women who made absolute delightful pretty Crochet patterns come magically alive - Canadian Neighbors and friends over the years … I totally was convinced I can never do that - but you now - with this video - changed my mind - Thank you!!!💐
    PS: slow by hand sewing to repair or change things is a wonderful hobby too as stitch by stitch like step after step while walking outside too is very relaxing being repetitive is not boring but relaxing
    The skirt into dress idea is one such anticipated project now, for me, like a sewing by hand renewal repair with a favorite beautiful summer skirt where the waist band in the not stretchy material is a bit to tight and …
    with the skirt extremely long I could cut a bit off the top at waist of skirt including the waist band to slightly lower at top of that A-line skirt
    It might become that way wider at skirt top to attach with an either knitted or crocheted dress
    Colouring: by shades of the skirt flowers or white background colour then with a fitting little from waist up top 🤩
    I like challenges apparently
    And I don’t care if something is current fashion or not as long as pretty and colours fit and I would be comfortable in the resulting creation🥳
    I am older (this my 80s year) lady, but “one doesn’t need to walk about in regulatory grey dress pants and acceptable - as many old ladies wear it - a white blouse with sweater combination commercially bought ) … I like cheerful “stuff” promoting a happy mood while walking in summers where the grass is green and birds are singing I am looking forward to it being like that soon again and hope to have a dress ready like that I envision creating knowing now I will use basically both patterns of stitches of your baby blanket 😊
    Tschüss/ bye bye
    Louisa
