    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations Před hodinou

      Hello! Each panel is made from the chain row up. The number of starting chains determines the width and the number of rows determines the height. You can adjust the width by making more or less starting chains in multiples of 2 + 1 (which means you’ll need an odd number of starting chains). You can adjust the height by making more or less rows. I don't have the exact number of chains to make the pillow a different size as I've only designed, made and tested this pillow with the size listed in the pattern. You are welcome to experiment with a different number of chains using the multiple of starting chains provided above :)

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations Před 4 dny

      Hello! I’ve only made this blanket with the one color but here are general (untested) instructions: At the end of the blanket body, change colors and start the border with the new color. To change colors, after your last stitch on the blanket body, place the new color on your hook and pull it through the loop of your old color. Fasten off the old color. With your new color, follow the instructions for the border. Hope this helps!

      @jototheworldcreations Před 5 dny

      Hello! This is the first time I've heard of someone's coaster turning out ruffled. I've had the pattern extensively tested and seen so many crocheters finished coasters. I'd recommend you double check your stitch count. Perhaps (and it's hard to say for sure without knowing where you might be going wrong), you could try a larger hook?

    Why is important to know where is the front? Looks the same. Ty for this wonderful tutorial:)

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations Před 5 dny

      Hello! It's important to know the front for a couple reasons. If you ever wanted to make the squares in different colors and wanted to alternate the squares in a specific way, you'd want to know which side is the front. Indicating which side is the front also helps you follow the pattern for joining (where to start and end) so that the joining seams are going in the correct directions and for following the instructions for the border/straps. You are correct though, if you make the squares with all the same colors, it does look the same on both sides. :)

    I am currently working on this blanket in a simple ivory and caramel colored stripe pattern . It is so pretty and easy. This is the first time that I've tried the granny stitch and a chevron blanket. The only challenge that I am facing is that I am having trouble with the loops in the valleys getting too large. Any suggestions? Thanks for sharing!

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations Před 5 dny

      Hello! Those colors would be wonderful. I'm glad you're finding it easy and pretty. As for the spaces in the valley, because you are skipping the valley cluster space, there will be a space there. You can try making the next stitch (after skipping the valley cluster space) quite tightly. Hope that helps!

    Mine is 39 inches long instead of 36 what did I do?

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations Před 5 dny

      Hello! It's okay if your blanket is not the exact same size as mine. You may crochet looser than I do. Also, using a different brand of yarn can make the blanket a different size. Having a blanket that is 39" wide is still a wonderful width for a blanket. :) If you aren't happy with the width and would like to make it smaller, you can use a smaller hook or less starting chains (in the multiples provided in the pattern).

    Can I use size 4 weight yarn for this project? Does that change the hook size as well? I love the simplicity and elegance of your patterns, and the kindness in your voice as you teach! Thank you!

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations Před 9 dny

      Hello! This pattern was designed, made and tested using size 3 (light) yarn and a K/10.5 (6.50 mm) hook. You are welcome to try a different yarn weight and/or hook size but the size, overall look and feel of your scarf as well as the amount of yarn required may be different. For example, if you use size 4 (medium) yarn, your scarf may be thicker and heavier with tighter stitches that look different and your scarf may not be as flexible, lightweight and airy as it was designed to be. If you would like to try making it with size 4 (medium) yarn, you can try using the same hook size (K/10.5) or try going up hook size (perhaps a 7.00 mm or a L/11 (8.00 mm)). I recommend you make a small sample (ch 25 and follow the pattern) to see if you like it.

      Thank you! If you are okay with the look of it, you're welcome to try ending after an odd row. It will look slightly different than mine and your buttons might need to be placed closer together but it's not vital to the pattern :)

    • @jototheworldcreations
      @jototheworldcreations Před 11 dny

      Thank you so much! Working in the back ridge loops (back bumps) helps prevent a gap when you add the border. Crocheting into the back ridge loops is tighter than the top or bottom loops so it is normal for it to be quite tight when inserting your hook into the bumps. Take your time! It's worth it so there's no large, unwanted gap once the border is added.
