  • Aside from a car, my gig delivery toolkit consists of a hotbag, pizza bag, clothes on my back and my footwear.
    In this video I just want to show you a new pair of boots I just received that I have been waiting in anticipation for 9 months.
    I ordered these in July 2023 and just received them late April 2024. At the time I ordered them they were $349 and first time customers could take 10% off. The price has risen since and they no longer offer a first time buyer discount. D'oh!

    Have the same pattern and leather coming w/ lug soles. Bordon does custom left/right sizing upon request which is nice. I also like the Wanes pattern a great deal.

    Waiting on my pair in Chestnut from 1/24 order; so now i know how long it really might take; and also what they will look like; thanks.

      Yea the wait time is really long right now, they've said that they are catching up on production so you may benefit from that and get it sooner but I definitely did not. I have one more pair I ordered a week or two after this pair so it should be coming any day now, I hope.

    Very nice! I think the wax may be for the heel and midsole. I’ve got a pair in the way.

      Yea I should email them and ask about that but I also don't know how likely I'll use it. I'll stick with my regular routine of maintenance by rubbing some VSC every half a year or less. These boots already seem super impregnated with oils and waxes so it's not going to be for a long time before it needs any conditioning.

      @@Dashing-Driver I ordered them in the W&C chestnut latigo. I’ve been waiting 6 months already. I hope they get shipped soon. I like VSC as well but use Bick 4 most of the time.

    So, it's been a few months. How are they breaking in?

      @@Condor1970 they've broken in really nicely and also really quickly which was surprising. When I first put them on they felt so so tight which I mentioned in the video. Within the first 5 wears it improved dramatically and it's only gotten better since. I only wear them with my thinner socks so if I were to order again I'd go half a size up or up a width which I think can be done with a special request.

    Did you ever email them your foot measurements?

    • @Dashing-Driver
      @Dashing-Driver  Před 3 měsíci

      I never did and I'm not sure if they asked. I probably gave them the sizing I wear in other brands and got a recommendation from that.

    What do you normally wear in American Brannock size?
    My US Brannock size is 11EE, and I ordered a 10.5EE based on their recommendation from the measurements I sent them.

    • @Dashing-Driver
      @Dashing-Driver  Před 4 měsíci

      My Brannock is 10E. My pair is 43E which translates to 9UK and 10 US I believe. Initially it was way tight and based on my perceived notion of W&C leather I was expecting a tough and long break in but after one day it eased enough that it feels fine. A little snug but acceptable for those who prefer a snugger fit.

      @@Dashing-Driver I also asked if they could remove the pull tab. I have the same issue. My pants always get caught on the back, and with a 6 inch boot, it really isn't need. I'm curious, exactly how did he build it without? Did he just roll the back strap over the top, and tuck it under the inside ankle collar?
      Btw, that W&C leather will definitely stretch. It takes a couple months to really soften up and break in from wearing daily, but it does stretch to fit. I have a pair of Nicks Roberts made from W&C, and they have about 4 months of wear now. They're just getting broken in.

      @@Condor1970 yup exactly there is a piece of leather on the inside that runs along the edge behind the eyelets and around the inside opening of the shaft creating a collar lining and the strip of backstay leather is tucked in between the two layers of leather.
      I've worn the boots a few more times and they've become so much more comfortable so quickly. The only thing left is the stiffness of the shaft making my walk a little stilted when going up or down the curb or steps but that's softening up and becoming more pliable too.
