Brad was a committed Jehovah's Witness for over 10 years. A co-worker started asking questions, which took him into researching, questioning the elders, and getting no responses.

Fabulous interview. I've been an unbeliever for 50 years. Started studying with JW's last year and realised very quickly, the study was a watchtower study, not a bible study. I had a KJV bible and was given their new world translation one. I started deep diving the bible, something I'd 'shunned', (excuse the terminology) for all my life after I realised they were in a cult. I found Mike Winger, Ray Comfort, Melissa Dougherty and Dr James White and threw myself into learning, reading and understanding the bible, so that with a few well chosen questions during studies, I can hopefully plant seeds. My JW teachers are beautiful people, the loveliest, who I love with all my heart and I pray everyday, the Holy Spirit finds them and guides them to see the real light. ❤

For those seeking evidence of Jesus's request for his followers to celebrate his death. Try Luke 22v 19. Where he says. "This means my body, which is to be given in your behalf. KEEP doing this, in rememberance of me" Just a little later, he was cruelly executed !

Keep taking the emblems, similar to what they did in the Old Testament with the flesh and blood paying for the sacrifice of sins, which was done often. Wine and bread represents his body and blood, which paid for sin, the full fulfillment. There is no evidence of Jesus wanting his followers to celebrate his death. You are choosing your own interpretation as evidence, which is wrong.

    • @nightpixma
      @nightpixma Před 10 měsíci +1

      The roots run deep.
Some of these poor people have spent literally decades with the teachings ingrained in their minds to the point that they don’t recognise God or the bible without them.
Imagine you’re in their shoes; you have dedicated your entire life to this group, lost countless weekends on the ministry, lost friends, shunned family, passed on employment opportunities, decided against higher education, possibly even made medical decisions that have put your family members’ lives or your own life at risk.
Every single decision you have made for your whole life has been in sacrifice to a man made organisation… and now you have to make the choice to admit that it could be wrong.
What’s the alternative? For a lot of people one way to not have a mental breakdown is to hold on to core teachings so that you don’t have to admit that your whole life is a lie, that way you can just jump from one false cult into another false group and it doesn’t result in whiplash that breaks your neck.
They’re victims that have been brainwashed, manipulated, abused, and lied to about their God. The ONLY cure for that is Christ, and it is our responsibility to help them see Him.

@@Mr.DC3.1914 What about "In you all"? Is Christ IN YOU Mr.D2C?
Have you read Ephesians 4 in context? Do you know the meaning of context?
      Were you called? Verse 1
Are you in the ONE HOPE of your calling? Verse 4.
Yes, there is ONE God and Father of all who is above all, and through all, and in YOU all. Is God in YOU DC? Verse 6
Have you already become a perfect man? Verse 13. ( I think not)
Are you part of the whole body in verse 16? There is ONE body, remember verse 4.
Have you been renewed in the spirit of your mind? verse 23.
And have you put on the new man(been born again)? verse 24. Yes this means being born again, born of God, a new creation, born of the spirit. They all mean the same thing.
Have you been sealed with the Holy Spirit? verse 30.
Did Christ sacrifice Himself for YOU? Chapter 5 verse 2.
Can you positively answer any of these questions? OR are you only able to answer your baptism questions like, "Do you realize that your baptism identifies you as a JW and with 'jehovah's' organization?" Is that all you really know DC? Do you know anything about being IN Christ?
Now go ahead and change the subject and give me a first grade math problem that has nothing to do with the nature of the Almighty God, Who, is Omniscient, Omnipresent, and Sovereign over ALL. Go ahead and try to explain how the ONLY infinite being that created everything by Himself, is somehow restricted to your little 1 + 1 + 1 equation of meaningless drivel.
You sadden me DC. The fact that someone as arrogant as you, can be so blatantly ignorant moronic. I pity you most of all, because one day you will stand before Jesus, Who will be ON HIS THRONE, judging YOU, and you won't have an answer. You'll try and tell Him how many hours you put in for the organization. You'll say how many meeting you went to, and how many comments you made on boobtube to defend the organization. You'll be very haughty about it all, probably trying to tell Jesus that He is just an angel, and you shouldn't be judged by Him because you are one of Jehovah's Witnesses, so somehow you should be remembered for all the things you did.
But you didn't do ONE thing that mattered, because you never bowed your knee to Jesus, asking HIM to forgive your SIN. Yes, YOUR SIN. You are a sinner just like me; the only difference is I know it and you refuse to repent and turn to JESUS CHRIST, NOT SOME MAN MADE ORGANIZATION.
You see how pitiful you are? Everyone reading this, except for your troll friends, pities you. You are just.....a sad person.
But it doesn't have to stay that way. You can KNOW Jesus if you asked HIM to forgive your sins. You have not because you ASK NOT. James Chapter 4. Try reading in in context. Remember, James tell us that the Spirit dwells in us, and is jealous. (Vs.5) Is the Spirit IN YOU DC?
Can you answer any of this without changing the subject? I think not, and that is why you are so pitiful. But you don't have to remain pitiful DC. Nope, you don't. But will you CHOOSE to stay that way and follow an organization of men, instead of Christ?
      Probably.

    • @nightpixma
      @nightpixma Před 10 měsíci +3

You pray to God, there is only one.
Jehovah, the English translation for the Tetragrammaton (pronounced more accurately ‘Yahweh’) was the name of God that was revealed to Moses, meaning “I Am that I Am”. It is a statement of Gods self existence and almighty being, which was contrary to the other Gods of the time in Egypt that were all the gods of ‘something’. The God of Israel is not the God of ‘something’, He simply IS. Hence “I AM”.
Jesus was the promised Messiah, the Son of God, prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 as coming with the name Immanuel (which means “God among us”).
Jesus was God revealed to the world as a Man who then gave himself as a sacrifice for all of mankind to give us the opportunity to accept this sacrifice and be reunited with God.
In other words, it’s not a matter of praying to EITHER Jesus or Jehovah… Jesus IS Jehovah.
The scriptures do say, however, that there is only one name in which you can be saved… and it isn’t Jehovah.

@@MR-gx3gc You are linking the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25 to the faithful slave in an improper way.
"When Jesus told the parable of the talents, he told three other parables that were also part of the sign of the time of the end. All these parables describe specific qualities that his followers must have. We can read these parables at Matthew 24:45 to 25:46. THE FIRST PARABLE IS ABOUT THE FAITHFUL SLAVE, the small group of anointed ones who have the responsibility to teach Jehovah’s people. They need to be faithful and discreet. The following parable is about the ten virgins. In it, Jesus warned all the anointed ones that they would need to be prepared and watchful because they would not know the day or the hour when he would come. Next, Jesus told THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS to teach all the anointed ones that they would need to work hard in caring for their Christian responsibilities. Then, Jesus told the parable of the sheep and the goats, which focuses on those who would have the hope of living on earth. He emphasized that they must be loyal and do all they can to help his anointed brothers." ('Learn From the Illustration of the talents' March 2015 WT - An interesting article with a box at the bottom pointing out where there is some new light in understanding this parable. Also points out that another parable, the parable of the minas at Luke 19 has the same meaning.)
So the meaning of the parable of the talents is perfectly encapsulated in a single sentence from the article quoted above - "the anointed ones ... need to work hard in caring for their Christian responsibilities."
Couldn't help but to see the irony of you making a big fuss about this, being that you belong to Christendom who teaches that any kind of evangelism is optional.

First of all, I would like to remind you that I have asked you to confront me with one of my remarks which, in your opinion, is incompatible with Christian doctrine.
On the one hand, you have accused me of spreading false doctrines on these channels, but on the other hand, you have not yet taken the opportunity to respond to this extremely generous offer.
As you know, at the suggestion of my friends, I have generously conceded you a deadline of the end of this month. With this in mind, I would be pleased if you did not let this deadline pass fruitlessly. Otherwise, I have to assume that you have come to the conclusion that your criticism of the theological beliefs that I have publicly expressed on this channel is untenable.
With this in mind, I would like to return to the current issue.
It seems necessary to remind you that only the following crucial question is up for discussion.
What interpretations does your organization derive from the Jesus ́ personal statements in his end-time discourse to legitimize its doctrine of the "faithful slave"? And not what personal point of view I or anyone else takes on this issue.
In this sense, every Bible reader is challenged to indulge in a conscientious contemplation of the text, instead of referring his interlocutor to extra-biblical explanations, e.g. in your Watchtower literature.
It is an undisputable fact that the Watchtower Society relies on Jesus' relevant statements about the "faithful slave" in his end-time discourse, to legitimize its doctrine of the "faithful slave." These statements are documented in chapter 24 of the Gospel of Matthew and in chapter 12 of the Gospel of Luke.
Every sincere and conscientious reader of the Bible therefore, is obliged to examine for himself the sense in which Jesus Christ chose the term "faithful slave" in his end-time discourse.
To this end, with the active collaboration of my friends, I have prepared the following elaboration, which we had already made available to your confreres a few weeks ago, with the kind request to answer the questions posed at the end. We will send you the same elaboration with the same request with a separate comment.

In this sense, Jesus' speech contains a prophecy, which, however, refers to his coming as the Son of Man, which he had already mentioned shortly before. (see also Matthew 24:30).
To this end, Jesus used a series of parables to illustrate how his slaves should behave until his coming in order to receive the promised reward.
In this context, Jesus affirmed the aspect of the unpredictability of his coming. (Luke 12:40) This statement coincides with all his further predictions. (Acts 1:5-6, Matthew 24:42-44, Luke 21:8, Mark 13:33).
Unfortunately, it is precisely this essential aspect of Jesus' prediction that is being studiously ignored by your organization. And it is equally regrettable that this fact is tacitly tolerated by you and your confreres.
Attention: Moreover, the starting point of the speech does not refer to a specific one, but to the slaves of Jesus in general (see Luke 12:37).
All these slaves were to prepare for the imminent coming of their Lord Jesus as the Son of Man.
The parables that Jesus mentions in verses 35-39 are aimed solely at the coming of the Lord and not at the appointment of a single slave before that coming.
In connection with these parables, Jesus chose a Greek word in verse 39 whose meaning in the Greek language is comparable to the word ("stewart") in verse 42. In the same way, these terms also refer to these slaves that he mentioned earlier in his speech, and not to a single prominent slave within this group.
It is only after Jesus mentions these parables in relation to the eagerly awaiting his slaves for his coming as the Son of Man that Peter turns to Jesus with the question of whether these parables should be intended only for the listeners of that time, i.e. apostles, or for all the others of his followers as well.
Jesus does not answer this question directly, but with a counter-question, namely, which of all his slaves would ultimately prove to be truly faithful and discreet or wise.
Also, the following statements in verses 43 to 48 are aimed at the coming of Jesus as the Son of Man and not at the appointment of one of his slaves before His coming.
This realization is fundamental to understanding this specific speech of Jesus.
Therefore, in verses 43-48, Jesus did not mention a specific slave, but different types of slaves that Jesus would reward upon his return or arrival according to their respective behavior.
Now the final proof of the validity of this interpretive practice.

      P A R T II topic: "faithful slave"
In this discourse, Jesus mentioned another parable recorded in the Gospel of Matthew. In this parable, 3 different slaves are described, with whom their master settles accounts after his return. (Matthew 25:14-18)
      Matthew 25,14-21 ( N W T Study Edition)
“14 For it is just l i k e a m a n about to travel abroad who summoned his slaves and entrusted his belongings to them.
      15 He gave f i v e t a l e n t s t o o n e , t w o t o a n o t h e r , and one to still another, to each according to his own ability,j and he went abroad.
16 Immediately t h e o n e who received the five talents went and did business with them and gained five more.
      17 Likewise, t h e o n e who received the two gained two more.
      18 B u t t h e s l a v e who received just one went off and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.

20 So t h e o n e who had received the five talents came forward and brought five additional talents, saying, ‘Master, you entrusted five talents to me; see, I gained five talents more.’

demanding* man, reaping where you did not sow and gathering where you did not winnow.
25 So I grew afraid and went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.’
      26 In reply his master said to him: ‘ W i c k e d a n d s l u g g i s h * s l a v e , you knew, did you, that I reaped where I did not sow and gathered where I did not winnow?
27 Well, then, you should have deposited my money with the bankers, and o n m y c o m i n g I would have received it back with interest.
      28 “‘Therefore, t a k e t h e t a l e n t a w a y f r o m h i m and give it to the one who has the ten talents.
29 F o r t o e v e r y o n e who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance. But the one who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.
30 And throw the good-for-nothing slave out into the darkness outside. There is where his weeping and the gnashing of his teeth will be.’
Jesus used a similar parable, but with the obvious intention of conveying the same message to his disciples.
In this context, I would be grateful if you would answer the following questions.
1.) Are you also convinced that Jesus, with his parables according to Luke 12:12-48 and Matthew 25:14-18, wanted to convey the same message to his apostles and us?
2.) Since Jesus declared in his parable according to Luke 12:43-44 that the Master would not put his slave over his possessions until after his coming, is it possible that Jesus performed this official act of appointment as early as 1919? (see Watchtower article, January 15, 2001, page 31)
      ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      Watchtower January 15 2001, page 31
      A Special Announcement
AT THE conclusion of the annual meeting of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania on October 7, 2000, a special announcement was made by the chairman, John E. Barr of the Governing Body. This announcement built further on discourses given earlier that day by Theodore Jaracz and Daniel Sydlik.-See pages 12-16 and 28-31 of this magazine.
Making a very significant point, Brother Barr stated: “‘The faithful and discreet slave’ and its Governing Body have had entrusted to them interests that are higher and far more encompassing than those granted to legal corporations. Set out in the chartered purposes of each of such entities are matters that are limited in their scope. Our Master, Jesus Christ, however, has appointed the faithful slave class over all his ‘belongings,’ or Kingdom interests here on earth.”-Matthew 24:45-47.
Concerning the Pennsylvania corporation, Brother Barr added: “Ever since its incorporation in 1884, the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania has played an important role in our modern-day history. Still, it is merely a legal instrument available for use by ‘the faithful and discreet slave’ when it is necessary.”
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.) If Jesus' parable is to be taken literally, according to which he will place a particular slave above "all his possessions" at his coming, then this statement would imply that all other of his slaves, especially the apostles of the first century, would be forever excluded from these blessings, or all these possessions. Is such an interpretation justifiable? Doesn't your organization hold the doctrine that all 144,000 "anointed Christians" will receive the same blessings equally?
4.) Which of his slaves did Jesus identify und remove as "unfaithful slave" according to Matthew 25,24 after his alleged return in 1919? Please name the relevant persons or institutions.

    Babylonia
"The ancient Babylonians recognised the doctrine of a trinity, or three persons in one god-as appears from a composite god with three heads forming part of their mythology, and the use of the equilateral triangle, also, as an emblem of such trinity in unity" (Thomas Dennis Rock, The Mystical Woman and the Cities of the Nations, 1867, pp. 22-23).
    India
"The Puranas, one of the Hindoo Bibles of more than 3,000 years ago, contain the following passage: 'O ye three Lords! know that I recognize only one God. Inform me, therefore, which of you is the true divinity, that I may address to him alone my adorations.' The three gods, Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva [or Shiva], becoming manifest to him, replied, 'Learn, O devotee, that there is no real distinction between us. What to you appears such is only the semblance. The single being appears under three forms by the acts of creation, preservation, and destruction, but he is one.'
"Hence the triangle was adopted by all the ancient nations as a symbol of the Deity . . . Three was considered among all the pagan nations as the chief of the mystical numbers, because, as Aristotle remarks, it contains within itself a beginning, a middle, and an end. Hence we find it designating some of the attributes of almost all the pagan gods" (Sinclair, pp. 382-383).

YOU CANNOT DENY THE HISTORY AND FACT that the pagan version of trinity was formulated AFTER ABOUT 400 YEARS - From Britannica - The Council of Nicaea in 325 stated the crucial formula for that doctrine in its confession that the Son is “of the same substance [homoousios] as the Father,” even though it said very little about the Holy Spirit. Over the next half century, St. Athanasius defended and refined the Nicene formula, and, by the end of the 4th century, under the leadership of St. Basil of Caesarea, St. Gregory of Nyssa, and St. Gregory of Nazianzus (the Cappadocian Fathers), the doctrine of the Trinity took substantially the form it has maintained ever since.

The Brittanica goes onto to say (conveniently left out by D C1)
The earliest Christians, however, had to cope with the IMPLICATIONS OF the coming of Jesus Christ and of the presumed presence and power of God among them-i.e., the Holy Spirit, whose coming was connected with the celebration of Pentecost. THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY SPIRIT WERE ASSOCIATED IN SUCH NEW TESTAMENT PASSAGES AS THE GREAT COMMISSION: “GO THEREFORE AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT” (Matthew 28:19); and in the apostolic benediction: “THE GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE LOVE OF GOD, AND THE COMMUNION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT BE WITH YOU ALL” (2 Corinthians 13:13). THUS, THE NEW TESTAMENT ESTABLISHED THE BASIS FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE TRINITY.

I’m sorry you feel that way, but it is unfortunately objectively untrue.
      - A core doctrine of the JW faith is that 1914 is the date that Jesus began his heavenly reign (previously the belief was that it was the impending date for the end of the world). This is not found anywhere in scripture.
      - Another core doctrine is that 1919 is the date that the Watchtower organisation was assessed and selected personally by Christ as the one religion that would lead his people into the great tribulation. This is not found in scripture.
      - As mentioned in the video, it is a core doctrine that the anointed class are the only ones to take part in the instruction to partake of the bread and wine. There is absolutely no scriptural basis for this, with it being impossible to come to this conclusion without WT publications dictating it.
There are many, many core beliefs of the JW faith that are completely fabricated, unbiblical, and anti-Christian… unfortunately you have been misled into thinking otherwise. I get it, I was too.
