Still waiting for a Republic Commando like game for the Bad Batch, or an Imperial Commando
Sadly I don’t think they’re smart enough to do that. It seems like they’ve completely halted the flow of Star Wars games. So now instead of the market being flooded with lots of Star Wars games and few movie, we has tons of movies and the only one legally allowed to make a Star Wars games is EA 🤢
@@Night-Lord the exclusivity deal between EA and Lucasfilms ended some time ago, other companies are said to be making SW games.
@@PurlsOfficial Well golly, it's nice to get good news in the comments sometimes
Well it's not completely true that EA has a monopoly for Star Wars games.
Or else TT games wouldn't have been able to release Lego Star Wars.
@@Trhrha nah it’s not a dislike of EA Star Wars game, frankly I think they’re doing fine with the license. Battlefront 2 is a lot of fun even if I didn’t get the characters I wanted and instead got two different balls as heroes. No my real problem is that exclusivity deal killed every non-EA Star Wars game in development, which included 1313
I would honestly love to see a soft retcon of the comics to see Crosshair training this new Taskforce 99. I wish we could see them in any show.
It's a relatively small but impactful change that people will probably put into their own head-canon.
I would think it could be a similar situation to the bearded rebel in ROTJ that many people have decided to consider as Rex from the 501st.
It wouldn’t be a retcon, we don’t know who initially trained them. Adding new information isn’t a retcon. Not unless it changes something or conflicts against it. There are almost no retcons in canon Star Wars. A handful, and even then some can be explained without it being a retcon.
Nah that’s still Nik Sant. Everyone’s not on board with the constant ret-cons and inserting named characters into all conflicts. Even notable warriors in our history couldn’t be at every major battle.
Edit: I mean think about it this way, if you and I were just two regular Stormtroopers who work hard to be good soldiers and we survive the entire war just to have a group of like four or five people run through us like butter and they've done that like every major battle no problem. Oh and there's multiple groups like this.
@@Commander23c yeah but it is reasonable to assume a notable figure from the first iteration of the empires army, would be a prime candidate to act as a consultant or trainer for this program and unit
@@chewy99. We know however that they were created a few years before Yavin so changing this would be a soft retcon.
That stormtrooper decked out in a cloak looking real badass not going to lie
Captain Phasma had a cape too, to symbolise her rank in the First Order Stormtrooper Corps.
@@Robert_Douglass Except the First Order is mega retarded.
@@devastater97 Oi! You wanna go, mate?! Where you get off dissing my First Order like that?! 😆
@@Robert_Douglass she was boring
@@justanordinaryperson7166 REPORT TO MY DIVISION AT ONCE.
Let's just have a moment of silence for the fact these bad batches are called "99" bc of a fallen brother
07
Imagine if you could have gotten a lightsaber in Republic Commando.
Unstoppable.
U could only use it as a melee weapon, and not deflect blaster bolts as clones are not force sensitive
@@FFangsYt So? Its still a 1-Shot on basically anything.
@@Im-Not-a-Dog true, true
Boss: An elegant weapon from a more civilized age? Well times have changed….
There was one in republic commando they just wouldn't let you pick it up
I hope task force 99 and the bad batch meet in a future season, their confrontation would be legendary
Ganaría el lote malo porque omega estaría crecida y con todas sus habilidades de jango fett al maximo😅😅
It would have to be in season 3 because this is the final season of bad batch. From what I remember task force 99 aren’t seen much until in between empire strikes back and return of the Jedi. They really only appear when the rebellion is formed
They look more like main characters than most of the main characters 😂 they look badass man
This "task force 99" is canon ? I remember reading some comics about them but cannot recall if those were published before or after disney.
They are, they appear in the main star wars comic line from 2015 and have appear for the last couple years
You people obsess over what’s Canon but you don’t even pay attention to the mainline continuity. Maybe you’re better off focusing on “Is this a good Star Wars story?” Not whether it fits into Canon or Legends.
@@Commander23c man just asked a question and I answered I don't give a fuck about if it's cannon or not what do you mean not paying attention to the main timeline what you on about?
@@Commander23c knowing if something is canon or not would allow the casual fan to have an idea of what they have to read in order to keep up with the actual timeline. Besides it also helps to organize the stories and make them less confusing as you have events and characters, like Chewbacca, Starkiller or the Yusang Vong, that do not have a consistent participation between canon and legends.
@@cesaroyola5902 Keyword being casual. I just find that typically Canon snobs go around constantly telling people what's canon and isn't. I don't care that Legends Boba Fett is no longer Canon. He has a more satisfying story in Legends to me and that's what I care about.
It would be really cool to watch the Bad Batch fight Task Force 99 in a future season of the Bad Batch.
Imagine if they teamed up the empire would just be screwed
Task Force 99 is one of my favorite threads in Star Wars. I love seeing the other side of the curtain, the people who look at the Empire and honestly say "Yup, warts and all, still better than what we had."
Remember that one lego clone trooper jedi? Jek14 or smthn?
That's his name.
The hunter, sniper, tech and brute is a common thing. But it works
It fascinates how it was explained why everyone doesn't use lightsabers. Technically anyone can but most people who try find them unwieldy. It basically takes a ton of training and/or cybernetic implants to use a lightsaber without the force. That actually makes sense to me.
Yeah, and remember the first order troopers were trained to use riot batons which could combat lightsabers. And Finn took one over a lightsaber, probably because he’s more used to them
Screw the Bad Batch. I want toys of these guys.
They made black series of two members
@@sebastianbartley1720Correct. Mic and Kreel are already made into black series
All these panels go so hard
In the finale of The Bad Batch, "The Cavalry Has Arrived", we see a squad of CX Troopers that look similar to Clone Force 99. The resemblance is uncanny, and most definitely intentional.
Hey can I copy your homework?
Sure just make it look like you didn't.
Task Force 99 was around before the Bad Batch, funnily enough.
@@starhammer5247 Didn’t they start appearing in 2015 comics? The Bad Batch started appearing in 2013 (the unfinished episodes)
@@jadjason6053 In that particular case, the unfinished episodes, as far as anyone was concerned, were going to remain unfinished. So Task Force 99 was likely going to be a reference to an idea they weren't able to use.
Bro POV: if the Bad Batch/Clone Force 99 executed order 66 and joined the Empire!
Star Wars Imperial Commando is the sequel I’d really like to play. Being part of Delta Squad while hunting Jedi and Clone deserters would be a Dark, yet, intriguing experience.
Interesting thing about this group was that they debuted before the bad batch Clone Wars season 7 episode officially aired. Originally this taskforce 99 was recycling the concept from the original scrapped/unfinished bad batch episode. I think the implication was either that this WAS the Bad Batch after order 66 (made in a time before deciding to have them betray the empire) or something of the sort.
The Bad Batch are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Man had his own team of the few Stormtroopers that can hit where they aim AND has an awesome lightsaber.
Id love to see a show like this
Yea but they would insert a child character and it would ruin 80% of the show.
Maybe they're clones of the bad batch
They aren't clones. I read the comic series that they are in.
Now it's time for a Task Force 99 spinoff
Clone 99 was sad death
Damn the hooded one looks awesome !😍
Honestly would love to see them come into the bad batch and fight each other
Thought it said bad bitch ngl
Was really hyped for that story
I love the Sgt. Kree comics, the only new comics I have. That squad is badass
Bruh this should be a series
They had a fucking Astartes in their ranks.
XD screw the force my money is on that guy!
@@80sRetrosaur ONG
@@80sRetrosaur nah screw the force bet on kreel
If a BF3 were to be ever made it’s definitely going to need customization like this. Canon or not this is super dope.
Imagine if clone force 99 engaged against task force 99, that would be cool
I got the sergeant Kreel action figure for Christmas
That's awesome!
I've read the comic before and i hope they will add them to the bad batch series as a bossfight someday
Always had an idea that clone force 99 was cloned and copied. This would explain task force 99 lore. I thought it was clone force 99 but then it would explain the bad batches ending.
I still want to see a storm trooper show maybe happen in the future, see their side of the war with the rebels because a lot of the recruits actually believed the empire was a good thing when it first started out and to be fairly honest it was dealing with the slave trade, smuggling, and other illegal issues the republic didn’t do as much with and focused more on the war against the droids.
The Empire would’ve been a good thing if Palpatine wasn’t in charge or a sith, who agrees and disagrees because I love hearing others thoughts on this subject in the Star Wars community!.
Taskforce 99 is the coolest part of the comics in my opinion
Yes please can we please get that confirmed that would be amazing. Y’all know what I’m talking about.
People wanna play as the Empire squashing the Rebel scum but instead we get EA's Battlefront 2 BS.
Brroooo.. I would kinda love a series on this - though it'd be hard to make perfect
I love this . “Republic’s “ commandos I respect ❤. Bad bad batch is the best. Love this
I think it would be cool to see an Imperial Delta Squad with Crosshair vs. The Bad Batch
Maybe to have Crosshair replace Sev's in Delta Squad
Their designs are so cool!
Task Force 141 from future be like: Master Obi Wan Kanobi why you look like captain price
At the begining i thought it was the same squad 🤣
Saw this on a comic cover once, always wondered.
I read the comic the other day, it was amazing!!
Great to see them getting some reconition!!
Because the Bad Batch arc of TCW was cancelled originally, Task Force 99 was meant to be a re-introduction of these characters. They were the Bad Batch as Imperial stormtroopers. But then TCW S7 moved into production and this plan was scrapped.
This seems like the great value version of the Bad Batch
I bet the lightsaber guy has his own boss music.
sgt kreel would he basically trained luke in lightsaber combat and after luke got good he just punched him instead
That template that you mentioned has a parallel in Warhammer 40K, the “Kill Teams”. It used to refer to a specific unit used by the (40K, and thus original) Deathwatch, among other Space Marine Chapters, for specific skirmish missions, and has now become a variant of the regular tabletop game, called, well, Kill Team. Kill Teams now have a “team” from each separate faction from the 40K universe and they are pitted against one another in smaller and less time consuming battles. So there are Ork, Adeptus Mechanicus, T’au, Eldar, Imperial Guard, and of course, Space Marine Kill Teams, all composed of similar units from the opposing factions, such as each team having a sergeant, a sniper, a heavy weapons expert, a melee specialist, a medic (called an Apothecary in the Marines), a zealot or chaplain, etc. It supposedly makes for more even matches between factions. Sorry for the really long comment, but I tried to be thorough while being as clear and concise as possible. Thanks for the video, mate!
Some cool Imperial lore! I like it! 😃
If I remember correctly, the heavy’s name is Zuke.
And his weapon is a mortar.
No, not a rocket launcher, a kriffin hand-held *mortar*
This isn't my first time to hear about Taskforce 99 for some wierd reason, maybe some other Star Wars CZcams channel have done a video about them.
But anyway I would've liked to hear more of this group and maybe even see them against The Bad Batch?
A storm trooper using knives would seem interesting
I enjoyed your vid Hiccup, keep it up
The extended lore, new games. and comics seem more interesting than the latest movies for sure. I might try and read some of em! 😅😁👍🏻
I've always wanted to see more Republic Commando style squads.
I love that disney pumps out so much Star Wars content from so many differnt outlets, even they can't keep up with whats canon. I mean when Taskforce 99 came out, the point WAS they were Cloneforce 99, that was the point. Then they they promply decied to F that and make them rebels.
My bestie: “Hey can I copy your homework?”
Me: “Sure just don’t make it to obviously“
The homework:
Perfect season 3 idea. Bring in another force unit to bring down the bad batch clones
I remember roleplaying Task Force 99 on a gmod server... good times...
Yess I loved this comic
It would be awesome if they introduce them in bad batch and the 2 groups face off. It would actually add some interesting stuff into the show 😂
So basically the stormtrooper with the lightsaber is what an imperial version of Grievous would look like.
It would be sick that in the final episodes of bad batch, this task force 99 of the empire were the ones that executes definitely the old bad batch, damn that would be damn epic in my opinion
It'd be cool to see this done
Imagine these two teams facing off against each other
Very Interesting
I love this squad it’s truly interesting seeing that they brought back TBB for them
And now I also really want Hunter with a lightsaber 🤭
a stormtrooper with a lightsaber would be insane
I've read that comic, it's pretty darn cool
I had forgotten about this 99 attachment to 501.
omg what if this is what the “Plan 99” double episode is about???
I never knew that. The 2 Bad Batches should fight each other in Season 2.
Aw this makes me wanna pick back up the sw comics
Wonder if we’ll see some version of them in the bad batch
We need a show on this team I remember reading about them awhile ago and they were surprisingly great
I need a game of these guys! Or of the Bad Batch, really just want another Republic commando game.
Would like to know/hear more about splinter cells like The Bad Batch and Task Force 99 awesome job!
Thanks
Imagen a battlefront with this much customization ;w;
Too clean
Woah 😳
The more you know
Thx 😊
There was _definitely_ a clone involved in naming the unit, thats for sure.
scar sqaudron .LETGOOOO
They released some figs for them, i unpackaged them while working for gamestop
I wish these guys got their own comic
Proof Palpatine was running out of ideas.
Hoping they show up in the show. It would be awesome to see Kreel in other canon media besides the comics.
Perfect game for this
These guys are so dope they’re in the Jason Aaron SW run if anyone wants to read idk if they are in anything after tho
I was hoping thst the Bad Batch would end up as Task Force 99. But everyone has to be the "good guys."
Please hashtag "shorts" on these so we know if a notification is something we can squeeze in real quickly or not.
They look badass
Brother thinks he's Jeff goldbloom with that voice
looks like i got some new custom minifigs to make
fun fact: they are called task force 99 because the have 99 problems but a sith aint one
What's the 69th problem
