When I watched this movie from the perspective of a law student, I was awestruck with the amount of legal research that the actor and the makers of the movie had done. The case laws cited, the nuances in interpretation of the POCSO act and the CrPC are to the point.

Best movie of 2023 till date, Manoj Bajpayee deserves another National Award for this role. The literally screamed and clapped when Manoj Bajpayee finished telling the Ramayan story in the end. That was the ultimate masterstroke of the makers of the film. Absolutely brilliant.

  • @pritijha
    @pritijha Před rokem +21

Wow.. Wonderful comments.. Two things that stand out in this movie... 1. The story telling by PC solanki. The road accident story and the Ramayan reference was awesome.
    2. There is no over the top and preachy dialogues or dramatic twist which would take the incident a little distant from truth. Probably cinematic liberty can in such cases can be foregone and this works in favour of the plot
Anmol u talked about the wry smile. That somehow makes me feel there has to be a story behind the character of solanki, as the wife was not shown (understood that she is no more), the emptiness in his eyes and the wry smile and the deep fear within the character. It would be wonderful if the flashback forms the plot of the sequel. Manoj ji indeed.. Hats off to you.. irfan khan is still missed... But till these kind of actors arr alive... A must watch....there was never a moment i was looking for an escape. The script is on point not stretched or meant to provoke any emotions. That makes it special. The acting of the lead casts and supporting casts are on point. What could i even say about Manoj sir. We are proud that he is born in the land of buddha Bihar.

Namaste, I have been following you since long for my fix of reviews and this one I felt to watch on the same day I watched the movie. Please spare few minutes for my thoughts.
    1. Completely agree with your take , stands out from other Hindi Film Industry takes for
There is no balancing provided , like if there is one bad apple here ,there are bad apples everywhere.Liked the fact makers stick to the case without a unnecessary commentary on the social , religious or economical disparity of our nation.
2.As you mentioned about the court proceedings, special mention should be made of the story written in such a manner by Suparn Verma (Plz correct me if I am wrong , the director of EK KHILADI EK HASEENA -Remake of English movie Confidence).
3.In the movie there is no stereotyping of the opposite lawyer (acted well in his role of uneased lawyer Vipin Sharma).
4.See , though in your review you told that some section of audience might have already started opposing without watching as propaganda, but we cannot say that as wrong for its always the case until now with the movies where potshots are taken at the majority as majority is docile and they used to get through with everything in the name of arts .But nowadays that is not the case .See I also watch as many or more movies as you and to some fair degree tend to recognise what is propaganda and what is not .To be fair this movies is not with the fact shown that majority of the people supported the Protagonist and did not just see it through the lens of religion.
5.Like you I also find Malayalam movies very good but they also have there own subtle form of propaganda, be it a superstar's cinema or else . There was a movie like Home which was genuine in its nature , with the faith and everyone appreciates the movie , but unlike in other movies you can find deliberate naming of heinous individuals with the name of Sanatani Deities ( Christopher,
BheeshmaParvam , Tiyaan ).Even movies like JAN GAN MAN , was it not a dig at the national party do they have any proof of any of there wrongdoings in colleges as in the movie or elsewhere, in today's Times of SM would it be hidden, where as the state in which Movie is set , has a completely different rule always.Whatever ,leaving politics aside , see whenever there is a genuine effort without bias ,the masses have always appreciated it and am sure same goes with Bandaa also.

Manoj Bajpayee is brilliant. It is only after watching the movie that i realised the courage of the girl, her parents, the lawyer, witnesses you need for standing up and fighting for what is right. None of them will get any awards or any financial support from anyone. They are considered as enemies by the followers of the baba. Kudos to the director and Manoj Bajpayee for making the viewer realise that. We need more of such movies. The last scene is brilliant.

We would be hypocritical when we say every single case of women matters for one and turn our heads when its not convenient for us, as its not an one of matter :
    1. Swami Premananda - r@ping 13 girls
    2. Swami Amrita Chaitanya - r@ping two minor girls
    3.Swami Sadachari - underground brothel.
    4. Paramahamsa Nithyananda - mutliple counts of r@pes, abduction, fraud, unnatural sex... still counting
    5. Ichchadhari Sant Swami Bhimanand - large-scale sex racket in Delhi and later in Mumbai
    6. Sant Rampal - found the bodies of five women and an 18-month-old child
    7. Asaram Bapu - r@pe of a 16-year-old girl

Tbh I have found that most people who preach that they are smarter or more ‘holy’ than everyone are just manipulative and good speakers. Every religion has such people, it’s just that they are a bit more normalised in India.

Manoj Bajpayee’s body language transformation with the change in tone is a highlight in his roles. Irfan khan had his eyes and expressions do the acting, Manoj Bajpayee has to do complete transformation. And please I am not comparing their roles but just how they are so effective in their roles. 👍
