    I LOVE the super 3!!! I use this gyro in my Freewing 90mm F-16, and F-15. I absolutely love the trainer mode for takeoffs and landings, and plus my 11 year old son can get his hands on the sticks for a little bit!! (With careful monitoring of course 😉)

    After the Receiver in my Maule failed after only 4 flights, I discovered Horizon DOES NOT sell a replacement Receiver already programmed for your plane. You are required to buy the replacement receiver and a programming cable. As I already have the Hobby Eagle Pro 3 sitting in a box ready to install, I am going with that instead. I am also going with a TACTIC receiver instead.

    Nice video. Wish more people would get off the ridiculous idea that gyros are a crutch and that it's somehow more manly and skillful to fly without.
    For me, the number one reason to use gyros is not because the model "needs" it, or to enable flying in more wind. The purpose is to make the model look better. Regardless of skill, wind has a bad habit of making your model look like just that. With a gyro masking the worst wind-tossing, the model appears far larger than its actual size in the air, and allows you to pull off a better scale impression than you otherwise would.
    You obviously still need to fly your plane. A warbird won't look good if you bank and yank, regardless of stuffing a gyro in it. And ironically, a gyro _can_ make certain elements harder, e.g masking feedback during short final.
    One video I would encourage making: The importance of gyro setup/tuning. Far too many pilots have bad experiences due to thinking a gyro is a matter of plug and play. Just like throws and expo, a gyro needs careful programming and tuning to provide the benefit you are looking for (without bad downsides)

      @scottfirman Před 4 lety

      Spektrum offers a programmable receiver simular to the factory installed one. In fact, you CANNOT buy a pre programmed replacement receiver for your RC Plane should it fail like mine did after only 4 flights.
      You are then required to buy a seperate USB cable to program the new receiver.

    james forgive me but whats the difference between autolevel and trainer mode is auto level mode where it doesnt limit angles but brings wings to level when sticks released.

    • @MotionRC
      @MotionRC  Před 3 lety

      You got it. Auto level just bring you back to level if you lose orientation. Trainer mode is like safe.

    Whats the advantages/disadvantages of using a Admiral with built in gyro and normal receiver with this Gyro seperate?

    • @MotionRC
      @MotionRC  Před 3 lety

      That's a good question. 1 is space, certain models don't have enough room in the hatch for more than a battery and receiver, so an all in one makes sense. The admiral gyro has 3 functions, while these have more. Then there are some who don't like the idea of another electronic because they feel that's one more thing that can go wrong while others don't like all-in-one because if that goes wrong you have nothing else. But the blue eagle gyro and the admiral stab plus pretty much accomplish the same tasks but with the eagle, you can mount it sideways. The red and black eagles offer more functionality

    Thanks motion rc for posting this video you just made up my mind in the super 3 w/ programming card option!! Question though, I plan on installing in my freewing 80mm a10 with l9r module and horus x10s setup. Is there any issue with the way the A-10's servos are run through the motherboard and then to my receiver or is this a non issue? Also can I completely avoid the PC using only the programming card outside of firmware updates?

    • @MotionRC
      @MotionRC  Před 4 lety +1

      The control board on the A-10 will be no issue. You are just adding a step between that and the receiver. And yes, the programming card can do it all. Its a great gyro, best of luck to you!
