PLEASE NOTE: I'm powering the stabiliser from a UBEC when fitting it to the model so that the ESC isn't connected and powered and there is no chance of the motor starting. For safety always remove the prop if you're planning to plug in the battery on the bench.

One extra thing worth noting is, this stabiliser is much quicker to respond than most regular 150+ms servo's, so I would recommend aiming for very fast servo response

Great video and I just like to say this gyro works great, I have it in my Freewing 64mm F-18 and it flies awesome with it. Still testing the differant modes (trainer, and auto level). I did notice the 60' default angle for the trainer seemed to shallow. I am going to test it to more effect soon. Keep up the great vids.

Looks far easier to set up than the FrSky S6R,Down side being similar price but the S6R is an RX as well.

I have 2. I have noticed that if I put the plane into an unusual attitude, then switch it from "off" to "auto-level" it will dive at ground in a turning motion.
It works correctly if switch is on before putting it in an unusual attitude..
Again, super useful. I've been considering a gyro receiver as I'm new to flxed wing. Do you recommend the newer version of this (version 4) or another brand? I am hesitant to spend the money on Spektrum receivers as they're overpriced.

This looks like a very nice affordable stabilizer. How do you think it compares to uses a iNAV with a more common F4 flight controller? To me the real downside is it requires a Windows PC to set it up which is a non starter for me as I am a MAC user.
Also what is the tablet you are using to setup the device?

At least I was able to find out that this device can handle differential aileron on two servos if receiver has enough channels. Installation and proper setup is really not simple/painless for a low stick time flier wanting stabilization, IMHO.
A darn sight less complicated than a Arduplane or INAV setup though ;) The more basic versions are easier to setup. Happy flying!

There isn't any difference. SBUS is SBUS.. Just watch the channel order. Best of luck!

Love your unbiased reviews. Stabilisers for larger trainer planes for beginners. Planes like the FMS Ranger 1800 and the Beaver 2000 - in your opinion KOPILOT or DETRUM Z3 or HobbyEagle A3 Sper 3/4? Thanks Lee.
It depends on on what is important to you. The HobbyEagle stuff is makes a lot model fly beautifully but a Kopilot gives you RTH...

Great video, so what modes would you pick that is equivalent to safe select, on my 3 position switch , I would use trainer, auto level, and then off? I using a 4 channel spectrum receiver, the plane has no functional rudder, so the 4th channel well have to be my data line, how do you make that 4 channel work on a 3 position switch.........
You can set it to be what you want. I like one mode to be stabilise and one to be 'manual' here.. Happy flying!
Where can I find the wifi module? Looked every where, i can use my laptop but the wifi would be nice 👌
I have a craft that uses differential thrust instead of a rudder. But it doesn't look like it has a mode for that. But I wonder if it can be setup for it anyway.
I guess I would have to use 2 ail, 2 ele and 1 Rud, but put single elevator on rud, and use the dual elevators as the trust? But then how would I control the amount of thrust... Hum... I guess this wouldn't work unless I use a rudder.
I don't see how that would work either. You can setup more advanced mixes in things like INAV... Best of luck
i so could use your help ! I have an Montion F-16 C 70mm i need help with the wring blue box gyro and receiver .. Please help ! don't have no idea that wire goes were and from what first .
just put one in a plane that has 2 ailerons and flaps(y lead), which two outputs from the A3Super3 would I use , or would the second aileron servo plug into A2 and the flap servo lead plug into my receiver, (using futaba s-Bus)
As of 2021 for a beginner what's better.... ZOHD Kopliot Or one of these stabilisers? You have used both of them what would you suggest, irrespective of their cost??
I'd suggest a really stable 'plane perfect for a new pilot to learn with (AXN. Boxler, Drift etc.) and no stabiliser. But the KoPilot provides the RTH in case of a problem as well as being pretty easy to setup..
i have one question is it possible to use sbus with the gyro and use aux 7-8 on the reciver for my landing gear and flaps or will just have to use the normal config
Should be if those two channels are not used to configure anything on the stabiliser... Best of luck

Purchased this gyro after seeing this great vid. Unit reset itself in flight today. When on the ground if I tap the gyro it resets itself. I'm assuming this isn't normal??
Sounds like a loose connection to me, I'd let the place know that you got it from in case it needs for exchanging.
@@Painless360 thanks. I've tested further on the bench and when I reduce gain the brownout/reset does not happen so I'm thinking maybe a power issue from the bec ??. Purchased from bangood so wont be returning it lol. Thanks for your reply

So what if I've installed it and got it working pc side, but haven't got power to the a3 when it's powered with the battery? Everything works if it's powered via usb. Just not when I have it and the rx on battery.
Then the 5v that you normally get from the ESC isn't there. You'll need to have 5v inside the model to power it. What troubleshooting have you tried?
Do you know how to inform me on the basic gain and recommend what percentage for the basic gain? to avoid resonance effect on the ailerons

If you are using an frsky sbus receiver and it is bound as sbus how does the throttle work? Will it still work as per normal ie as if the receiver was bound as non sbus or is there something else you need to do. ??

The ESC plugs directly in to the Receiver. Whatever channel that you have the throttle set up on. I'm using a FrSky XR8 receiver. Channel 3. AETR.
Sir what the common ESC ampere you used on some of your RC PLANE..
You choose an ESC with 20% more current than the motor will pull. So if the motor is rated at 10 amps, use a 12 amp ESC. See my RC basics series... Best of luck

When I try auto-level it will level but one wing dips down,
and sometimes when it levels it does so inverted.. what is wrong ?
Probably a setting you've got wrong. What troubleshooting have you tried?
@@Painless360 check settings and all lights appear to be correct color for the settings I want. Ran 4 flights and results were the same. The gyro works but the self level has problems. I think the calibration must be good or else the gyro would not work properly. I did some searching on RC forum and they had a thread but I did not see this problem addressed. Motion Rc has a reference base but I did not see this problem mentioned.
I'd check level calibration as a starter.. Everything I do to get them working here is in the video.. best of luck!

Better antennas, more power and more sensitive receivers are all part of it. Using cheaper stuff can result in limited range.
Antenna alignment if not using circ.polarised antennas, makes a big difference too. I have videos about if in the Antenna Lab series on the channel..

On every plane it works perfect....on my fw190 flightline the trainer or auto level mode is not working perfect. I can not move the aileron,ruder,elevator smothly, they shiver if i move my sticks.....only in the trainer or autolevel mode. In normal or off mode it works perfect....whats the reason for that? In my other planes there was no problem.....
