    To show the control surfaces, put the gain all the way up. You will see large amounts of throw. Make sure they are right, then bring your gain back to where you want it

      First installed it this week in my Hobbyking Tundra to try it and making some experience: the plane flies calmer by activitating the gyro, but a little nose up by flying straight. Or I should trim it up or calibrating the plane exactly horizontal by start. What is better if
      using flat mounting the gyro: the plane is a little not horizontal cause the rear is lower to the ground. Should it better for calibrating the gyro to power on the plane exactly horizontal? Thanks for replying, great vids!

    • @MerryBoozerRC

    Hi, Did this tame the beast? I have the P40 which as you say is very sensitive to tip stall and heading when taking off and landing. Firstly, I found the torque from a 4s was whipping it over so I tried a 3S and some lead in the nose. Much better but still a bit of a handful on the ground but great in the air. Now I have added a gyro (Orange Stabilized RX) and have it switchable when flaps are down (take off and landing positions). What a difference. It now has no swing, even in a cross wind on take off. Landings are fine if you keep the speed up. I have low gain on Ail and Elv and medium on Rudder. Gyro is off for normal flight as it flies well with 30% Expo.

    • @MerryBoozerRC
      @MerryBoozerRC  Před 4 lety

      Well it helps but I don’t know if I’d call it tame lol. But yes it’s a much more enjoyable experience I actually have three of these old birds now and really enjoy the way it flys you just definitely pay attention when your flying this bird

    Hello Merry Boozer! You say it right off the bat that the pins have to be facing towards the tail of the plane. Jim from Motion RC in his set up video says the same thing? The manual from HobbyKing say's it can be mounted in a variety of positions as long as the pins are ""facing forward (or rear) of the plane"" Can you clear this up? I installed one in my 90mm Gosshawk EDF with the pins facing forward and everything checks out fine in the preflight test. I don't want to maiden it until I know for sure that the direction of the pins (forward/rearward) does or doesn't matter? Can you clarify this one way or the other?? Thanks. Merry Christmas Merry Boozer

    • @MerryBoozerRC
      @MerryBoozerRC  Před 3 lety

      You always want the servo connection facing the tail the pins must face aft also make sure you use an open channel so you can turn it on and off so if something is wrong you can turn it off. Take of with the gyro off get the plane up in the air and when you turn it on you will know as soon as you turn it on if it’s wrong

      @@MerryBoozerRC I know you don't work for Motion RC. However I have watched a lot of your videos and you seem to know what you're talking about. Have you read the directions in the A3-L manual? It states in red lettering it can be mounted either way (pins facing Front OR Rear) not trying to bust your chops I would just like my curiosity satisfied. FYI, I installed one in my 90mm Gosshawk with the pins facing forward and everything works as it should on the bench.
