Very useful, thank you for sharing!
I’m glad it was helpful, it’s good to be back making some more videos again.
Very great tutorial, thank you!
You bet!
Great tutorial! Thanks!!
You bet. Thanks for watching
Well done
Thanks for watching!
Great! Waiting for moving hyperlaps!
I just released a tutorial about editing hyper lapses in LumaFusion:

Very nice mate, thanks a lot
Thanks for watching Ivan. I hope it helps. What device do you edit videos on?
@@JoshuaTimothy You are welcome, i have started with a 2018 Ipad pro, then I have switched to Imac 27, after that to Mackbook Pro 13, and in the moment i edit photos and have started with video on my MacBook Air M1 and the new Ipad Pro 12.9 M1 😅
@@84stuck That’s awesome. I’ve been wanting to get a MacBook Pro or Studio for awhile now. I edit videos at work in Premiere Pro on a PC, but its too slow and laggy. I really enjoy editing all my personal videos on the iPad Pro, it really is such a good device. Having an iPad Pro, do you like having the MacBook Air or a iMac better?
@@JoshuaTimothy so… Imac: beautiful 27 5k display, colours are beautiful… Mackbook Air with M1: fast machine and light and battery last forever , M1 Ipad Pro (12.9) Faster as the Mackbook with M1 (better software integration) better aspect ratio than Mackbook, and the “touch “ for photos editing it’s just perfect… only the battery is the down size for me 🤷🏻♂️
@@84stuck thanks for sharing, I can definitely see each device wins in its own way.
Great video!
I'm looking forward to the hyper-lapse tutorial and wondering how good the iPad pro will perform using RAW pictures from a Mavic 3 Pro for an hyperlapse! I haven't found any video on youtube
All of the iPads even iPhones will do a great job editing RAW photos. You’ll edit all of the photos in your favorite photo editor like Lightroom, then export them as jpg or png. Does the hyper-lapse function on the Mavic 3 Pro let you get the RAW photos? On my Mavic Pro 1, the best way I’ve found to shoot them is manually by clicking the shutter button every 2 seconds for RAW photos. The interval timer on the Mavic Pro 1 only allows 5 seconds.

I can’t believe I haven’t come across this video yet. This is so much easier than how most people do it on the computer. Thank you for the very simple, straight forward tutorial! You’ve taken mine to the next level! Kudos. New subscriber here. Question, when do you apply stabilization in luma?
Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad it helped. If you are doing a handheld Timelapse or Hyperlapse and it needs stabilization, you follow this and then export the Timelapse at the highest quality. Then bring the exported clip back in and apply the stabilizer.
@@JoshuaTimothy Great, thanks again
I see plenty of commercials/promos that offer… transition packs, titles, effects, etc. However, they all seem to be for Premiere, FCP or DR. Do you know of any that are applicable for Luma Fusion? Great vid, btw!
Nice job. Did you ever get around to making the lumafusion/hyper-lapse video? I’m going to attempt a hyper-lapse on my air 2s which I know can be difficult and time consuming. Doing as much research as I can before I dive in head first.
Thanks for reaching out, I’m actually working on that video right now and have filmed two different hyper-lapses for the video, one of which is a drone hyper lapse. I hope to have it out by the end of the month. If need help before that, DM me or send me an email on my website and I can hop onto a call to give you some advice and tips.

Great video. I wonder… how have you done to be able to shoot pictures in you camera to create the Timelapse? I own a Sony A7IV and I don’t know how to do that
On the Sony cameras you’ll want to set the drive mode to interval in settings. Here’s a quick tutorial someone made: czcams.com/video/6FHOzCBB27c/video.html
I’m shooting on the LUMIX S5, it has a dial to enter Timelapse mode and then you can quickly set up the intervals for shooting in settings.
@@JoshuaTimothy Thank you
Anybody else having the problem, that no matter how you sort the imported images they dont appear in the correct order? Does anyone know how to fix this?
Are the photos file names created in sequence? For example C102345, C102346, C102347… having the photos follow a sequence seems to always work for me.
Can you explain how to import the pictures for a moving hyperlaps?
Sorry for the delay. I will do a moving hyper lapse video this month. Stay tuned!

Do you know of any way on iPad where you can do exposure ramping etc like you can in LR Timelapse?
You can adjust the exposure using keyframes on the color page. Navigate to the color page, apply the original color preset, then add a keyframe and adjust the exposure. Then set another keyframe and set a different exposure. Let me know if you have any questions?
thank you :) @@JoshuaTimothy
I know I'm late to comment here but I followed your instructions completely. I did a timelapse of the stars overnight on a tripod. I ended up with almost 1000 raw photos which I batch edited in LR and they all went into the Luma timeline at .01 on a 30 sec timeline. The final footage of the stars looks jitterty a bit and not completely smooth. I'm using an M2 Ipad Pro. Is there anything else I can do to make the timelapse less jittery?
No worries. Is it still jittery after exporting the final video to your device? I have noticed that with 100’s of photos the playback in Luma stutters a bit, but it exports out fine. I recently did a Timelapse of the Milky Way and it turned out smooth. Let’s get yours working too 👊🏼
@@JoshuaTimothy Thanks so much for the reply! Even after exporting the video at Luma's highest bit rate the stars were still choppy (actually very choppy). I also played around with Luma's built in stabilizer but that made things worse. I tried re-doing another timelapse using the same LR edited photos but this time I only used 500 of them instead of the entire 1000 and I have the same choppy result. I used a radial gradient on my Lightroom photos. Could that have anything to do with it?
@@thomzaweird, I’d be happy to hop on a zoom call and see if we can figure out what is happening. Send me an email from my website joshuatimothy.com.
@@JoshuaTimothy Thanks so much for the offer to help but I figured it out this morning. My problem was that I was exporting my camera's resolution and aspect ratio from LR to Luma. So before doing the export, I now batch crop all the RAW images to 16:9 prior to sending them to Luma. Plays back smooth as silk now. Alternatively I imagine I could also render all the LR photos to 4096 x 2160 (4k) prior to exporting into Luma as well.
Hello can we add layers for LUTS in Luma fusion?
You can add one custom LUT and then color grade on top of that. If you want to use a second LUT you’d have to export and then import that LUT on the new project.
there seems to be a problem with the video, it seems to jump over some missing frames, witch makes the video look very jumpy
I had to shorten the original Timelapse due to some distracting reflections and then I looped the final Timelapse to make it longer, so you’re possibility noticing where it starts over in the loop. Good eye 😃.
Your keyboard?
It is the NuPhy Air 60. They just came out with generation 2, and also have it in a couple different sizes now.
@@JoshuaTimothy thank you
