Hands down, one of the most informative tutorials for LumaFusion that is around. Love the masking demonstration. Respect!
Thanks man, I hope to have some new videos out soon. I’m doing another masking one which will be a more simple version.
Great tutorial. I honestly find video/photo editing software daunting with the many settings and tools. You made it look soooo easy. Thanks for this!
I’m glad that it made it easier! Thanks for watching. Editing with LumaFusion is such a clean experience, I think you’ll pick it up quick. What kind of videos do you hope to edit?
Soul goodman teaching me how to edit on a ipad 😮
I’ve researched many videos about Lumafusion, but this is by far the best video I’ve watched because it was very informative and very well detailed. 👏🏼
Thanks Rugeen, I’m glad it helped. I definitely want to make more soon. What kind of videos do you like to edit?
This was insane mate, cheers!
I guess it might be time for me to start editing on my iPad with all these tips! 😉☺️ Great job!
This is by far the best lim fusion tutorial I’ve seen so far! most tutorials out there make video editing on limit fusion look as if it’s more for the personal hobbyist as well. Yours looks more worldwide, professional, and commercial usage. I would love to see you do a short film.
Thanks, it really is a good video editor. I’ve been using it professionally over a year now. I just finished a wedding a few weeks ago. A short film is definitely on my wish list.
Prestige Worldwide
That green screen blew me away! Can’t believe I can do this on my iPad Pro! Good job!!!
It really is cool! LumaFusion can do some amazing things. They are adding a lot of new features in the 3.0 update in a few weeks. It’s only getting better!
Man, that was an awesome tutorial! I'm going to get an iPad off the strength of this video alone!!! lol Thank you!
Your welcome, I’m glad it helped. I edit on computers and on my iPad, but I enjoy the experience better on the iPad. The iPad Air is a great device if you are looking to save some money over the Pro.
When doing the masking, you can just duplicate the current shape by hitting the double plus icon instead of the single plus icon. Saves you redoing all those presets.
That’s awesome thanks for the tip! That will definitely save some time.
That masking tip is amazing. Thank you.
Thanks, I’m putting out another video this next week only focusing on masking which is a lot more simple.
You just earned a subscriber. That was masterful masking used, so much to learn in this app. I use Filmora but I love Lumafusion for most of my editing on an iPad 9.7 still contemplating if to move up to a pro iPad. Keep them coming.
Thanks for the support! I’m currently using the iPad Air 4. It’s such a powerful device, so if you want to save some money it’s a good device too, just make sure you get the 256gb, not the 64gb.
This tutorial cleared so many of my doubts and also helped me with new ideas 🙏 thanks a lot great work 👍
You bet! Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad it helped!
Great Video, Simple, clear instruction. thanks!
Thanks, I’m glad. It was definitely fun to put together.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
You bet, good luck editing!
That was awesome! Good job and thanks for the tutorial!
You bet! Thanks for watching.
Perfect 👍🏻
Awesome vid man, thanks for making this!
Ya my pleasure. I hope it helps.
Awesome thank you 😊
What a fantastic video!! Keep up the great content!!
Thanks Matt, I’m currently planning a lot for 2022. I’ll see you around on the channel.
Great job. I like the monitor stand, ha.
Thank you for the video. I’m now convinced that you can truly do pro level editing on an iPad. Not to mention freeing me from my iMac
My pleasure Dudley. Thanks for watching. It’s amazing how good LumaFusion really is. I have been using it as my primary editor for 1 year now. You may find something you need to do on your Mac, but 90% of the time you’ll be able to edit on your iPad where ever you may be.
This is a great tutorial. I was on the fence about getting this or a macbook, and I think I'm sold on the iPad. Thank you.
Thanks for watching, I’m glad it helped. Ya the iPad with LumaFusion can do almost everything you need with video editing for most people. The MacBook opens up more advanced editing, but most people don’t need desktop software for the kind of videos they make.
Thanks, Joshua. That was informative and useful.
I’m glad that it helped! What else would you find useful in another tutorial?
Excellent! Like your style to teach
Thanks, I have a lot of fun doing it.
Thank you very much!
the best tutorial video I've seen since i used lumafusion =)
Thanks for the support! What kind of videos do you like to edit?
Such a great video !
Thanks, I hope it helps!
Wow you have some serious skills and explained this very well.
Thanks, I really enjoy showing everyone how they can make and improve their own videos. I will have a new tutorial coming out within the week.
Great Tutorial!!
Thanks, I’m glad it helped!
great work that masking trick was genius
It really is amazing what we can do with LumaFusion. It’s only getting better too. The next big LumaFusion update should come out the end of the month. It’s adding some awesome new features.
This was really really really super duper easy to comprehend man. You did a great job speaking about exactly what you needed to be explaining in detail and also showing the actions to create the needed video edits. Prolly not as easy as you made it seem but I’m damn sure I know what needs to be done though I just might not do it as well as you did😂
Hey thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I'm definitely making more. Good luck with your editing!
Perfect :)
wow! that was cool especially that mask part, so i think whats holding me back as beginning editor is the lack of exciting family footage but u just brought to my attention that there are sites that let u use professional free stock footage oh my what a country!!!!
Pexels.com is a great website for downloading free stock video. Give that a try.
Amazing!!!
Thanks! I’m glad you found the tutorial helpful.
Yep I am sold on luma fusion, many thanks dude! :)
You bet! Thanks for watching.
Awesome!!!!
Thanks for watching.
Perfect
just installed lumafusion recently, thanks for this!!!
You bet Jayce! Let me know if you ever have any questions.
@@JoshuaTimothy will do!! I Appreciate this!
Brother that was awesome tutorials. It is amazing. Specifically the greenscreen image😘😘
Thanks Alay.
Great lesson my man. Very inspiring. T y
I’m glad it helped! What fun projects do you hope to edit soon?
i was surprised by the channel subs, because this looks like a video by a big channel. well done. btw i tested 4k 10bit on my ipad pro m1, and it dropped frames tho. but still its awesome to use. keep up such videos.
Thanks for the kind words, more videos on the way. I’ve been able to test a lot more footage over the past few months and I’ve had some drop frames too. Not everything, but certain formats or from certain cameras, others are buttery smooth. But ya, I’ve really enjoyed editing on the iPad.
This so good😎
Thanks! I’m glad it helped. Do you have any fun video projects on the horizon?
This is good so great actually thank you 🙏🥰
My pleasure, I’m excited to make some more to help others continue in making videos!
You just gained a new follower!
Thanks Kevin! Keep on creating!
Very nice!
Thanks Steven, I’m glad it helped.
This app makes the iPad Pro very good for professional editing!
Great video😃👍
Thanks!
That was Dope
Glad you liked it, thanks for watching Herman!
Thank you for this. liked !
You bet, more tutorials are coming soon!
@@JoshuaTimothy if you can .. how to color grade with good results .. thanks
@@GuyA That one is definitely coming. I have been spending some time testing and learning color grading on the iPad a lot lately. I have some tips and some apps, that make it a lot better.
Great tutorial
Thanks for watching, I just posted a new one about how to edit the audio for your videos. I hope it helps!
Thanks thats really helped me get to grips with LumaFusion 👌😎 regards fred
Thanks Fred, I’m glad it helped. It really is a great app for editing. I plan on making even more videos. Keep creating! 😀
Awesome video. Just getting started and this really helped.
I’m glad it helped! What kind of videos do you like making?
My main channel is car upholstery and customization. But I travel to different shops to do this. So I'm working on a travel channel. I also do a little bit of product review for audio and cool places I stop. So thanks again.
@@twistedartisan2131 That’s awesome! Good luck with your channels.
Damn. Nice tutorial, lovely ad. Subbed.👍
Thanks Bruce! I hope it helps you make something cool.
Please keep doing the Luma vids, just subbed because I see good things happening here!
More on the way! Thanks for the support Joe. What are you currently creating with LumaFusion?
@@JoshuaTimothy just starting /learning with clips. I do most of my work with Camtasia on PCs but I just got a new iPad and after seeing your video I want to learn Luma better.
@@joepeach997 That’s great! It is a lot of fun, that’s for sure. I have really enjoyed LumaFusion on the iPad. I’ve been editing in Adobe Premiere Pro for a couple years now, but LumaFusion is my favorite to just sit back on the couch and edit away.
@@JoshuaTimothy i like that laid back approach, a man after my own heart, but don't make it wierd😅
i just subscribed i also just bought the ipad pro 11
Wow 😮
It pretty cool how well videos can be edited using an iPad. Thanks for watching.
Now with Prores I think this is pure gold!
Ya it’s pretty awesome. They just updated the app today with ProRes support!
Nice tutorial...👍
Thanks, I’m glad it helped. What kind of videos are you interested in editing?
Man this is smart i'll be watching this video again when i get my ipad pro
Sounds great! What iPad Pro did you get?
You just gained a follower.
Thank you for the support!
im not a professional editor but this video got me interested of editing skills im using an ipad and starting up to figured out different apps for editing video/photos
That’s great, LumaFusion and iMovie are both great for editing. You can do a lot more with LumaFusion. It doesn’t take too long to learn, and there are lots of tutorials out there. Thanks for watching.
hey this is awesome, can you show more tutorials of lumafusion?
Yes, this was fun to make! More on the way.
Superb
Thanks, Gagan!
Nice overview! You covered a lot of stuff there, at a good level and pace. Looking forward to your next tutorial!
Thanks for the feedback! I’m excited to start working on the next one.
Nice!
Thanks for watching! My new video about the some cool new features just released in LumaFusion 3.0 just went live. Check it out here: czcams.com/video/0aoSunWELtg/video.html
Masterclass.
Thanks, it was fun putting together
Wow that was awesome especially green mask ! I want to learn it , I have 12.9 M1 cheap I’m between LumaFusion and Adobe rush , I don’t know which one is better or easy to used
They are both really good, LumaFusion is definitely my favorite, plus it doesn’t have a subscription tied to it.
K this tutorial was GREAT wow! I have this app and haven’t used it much but you really made me want to try it more. On the couch and with the monitor setup! Also loved the workaround you had for the masking and I’m definitely going to have to try that in my next project. Also your edit of the bronco video was great!
Thanks Kailee! I’m glad it helped. I’m constantly blown away by how good LumaFusion is and all that it can do. Spending most of my time in Premiere Pro, it’s often refreshing to sit down and edit in LumaFusion.
yeah bruh... spend HALF AN HOUR every time you want to make a simple MASK... 😂😂🤡
The key to doing a good edit on any app is having good footage to edit! Great tutorial 👌
Thanks James, ya that definitely helps!
If you are a good editor you will do with any footage
Great stuff…Can’t wait to see what you do want to 2.5 Luma fusion comes out.
I’m really excited for the new update, especially the multicam editor. There will definitely be some new tutorials. Thanks for watching!
I really wish apple had announced real multi monitor support for iPadOS 15. I hate that it doesn’t use full monitor resolution.
@@artofalfenito That would be really nice, I hope that Apple adds that feature in the future. LumaFusion will let your playback/preview screen go fullscreen on your second monitor.
Great tips! I’m looking forward to the 3.0 update and all the new features they are adding!
Ya me too, they definitely have some awesome things planned for this year!
What keyboard is that with your ipad? Great video btw!
Thank you. The one in most the video is the Magic Keyboard. The one in the thumbnail is the Microsoft Surface Keyboard.
Great vid 👍 It is a great option BUT Lumafusion still doesn’t support speeding ramping. I wish they offer this.
Thanks! There are some awesome updates coming out this year which will include speed ramping, scopes for color grading, sound plugins, and a lot more. I can’t wait until it comes out.
That was amazing. I just upgraded to LumaFusion 3.0 and I will be using it more for sure. Cool trick with masking - but I doubt I would be able to replicate it! Are you using the new M1 Pro? New subscriber 👍
Thanks for the support. No I’m using the iPad Air 4.
just☺ clicked on your video by curiosity.. Now I want to start editing
You should! What kind of videos would you want to edit?
This tutorial is just WOW. I just bought an iPad 8th and pencil. Im really thinking about to use it as my mainly device for social media design and video editing. I have a windows pc that is way to slow to renderizing anything. Thanks for this amazing video.
Thanks for watching Raphael. Ya that will work great! LumaFusion on the iPad makes video editing a really smooth experience.
Im thinkin of buying an Ipad 9, should be about the same. Can you edit 4k somewhat smoothly with it? The air is maybe too expensive for me hahaha
Hey there, I am considering buying the iPad 9 for video editing and social media design. Same as you. But I am just doubtful if the device is good enough for a long term use. Can you please let me know your experience after 8 months of using it? With regard to video editing specially
Great video. How do we delete videos we import into LumaFusion library if we don’t want them there anymore? Seems like you’re stuck with them there.
best information sir. may i know what ipad is best for lumafusion video editing? I use a sony zv-e10 camera, and our video is in 4k for 20-25 minutes.😊
Right now either the iPad Air 5 or the iPad Pro 5th or 6th gen will work perfect. Make sure to get at least 256 gb of storage.
Can please make a video on iPad air 4 showing lumafusion 3.0 video editing on external ssd. If possible to use external ssd in lumafusion video editing on iPad Air 4 ???
That's amazing. I'm a web developer, but your video makes me to learn video editing. 🤣
It’s a lot of fun, especially when you make videos about something that already interests you. You could make videos helping others with web development. Thanks for the kind words!
@Kiran Deka Romania
im a new film (mini doc) creator and was looking for the least amount of money to spend while starting my journey. your set up is sooo cool! simple and gets the job done! Thanks for sharing... Sick work!!! you made look easy as hell!
That’s awesome! Mini docs are pretty cool to watch. Ya the iPad Air has a lot of power for the price. You can edit just about anything with that iPad. It’s faster than my newer Intel laptop for editing videos.
Please make more 2021 M1 ipad pro tutorials...
Great video!! Love the idea of not being glued to the laptop to get a more interactive editing experience. Going to give lumafusion a shot. Hopefully my 2018 iPad Pro can handle a7siii footage
Thanks, ya give it a go! It’s my favorite way to edit. Depending on your workflow and settings it should handle it pretty well. Let me know how it goes.
Hey Joshua! Great Video!
What mic are you using? Sounds good!
Thanks Eugene, it is the Blue Yeti USB Microphone: amzn.to/3ax8Ljj
Well done! Subscribed for more!!
Thanks man, I definitely have more planned.
pencil is essential when editing on an ipad pro makes things much quicker!
It really does! Thanks for watching.
I think Lumafusion is underrated.
It really is such a powerful app, and at an affordable one-time price!
@@JoshuaTimothy I know right.
Great video Joshua, what size of iPad is this?
This was the 10.9 in iPad Air 4.
Have you found a good way to plug in an SSD when editing the way you are? The usb-c cable sticking out the side gets in the way
I really like the OriGrid case for the Magic Keyboard. I can then have the SSD mounted on the back and not worry about a drive hanging down from the port. I demoed it in a previous video, let me know if you have any questions: czcams.com/video/HDsV1CUtraU/video.html
hey Joshua; Great video. What size ipad ( model ) are you using? Thanks
I was using the iPad Air 4 for this video.
for the mic sound, what number is the dbs setting so that it's clear??
I like to try to stay around -12db to -6db. I just posted another video with 3 tips to improve audio in your videos. You might find some other helpful tips in it.
excellent video, do you know where i can find titles, transitions, effects for ipad pro? the ones that come already configured are very few. Thank you very much for any help you can give.
Another CZcamsr RobHK makes a lot of these effects and transitions, he sales a lot of packs, and even has free ones on his CZcams channel. Check out his stuff: robhkvlogs.com/product/buy-all-presets/
Here’s Rob’s channel, he makes some cool effects, titles, and transition packs for LumaFusion: czcams.com/users/RobHK
Thanks brother, I had already seen some of his things, but it's always good to know if there are others, but thank you very much for responding, I always watch your videos about iapd and I learn a lot from them.
Great video! Couple of questions I was hoping you could help me out with. 1. Is it possible to add an external hard drive to an iPad and edit and use Lumafusion? My Ipad doesn’t have a lot of storage. 2. What would you recommend the best way to get video from a Panasonic G7 into Lumafusion, using an Ipad? Thanks so much!
Yes it is possible and it works great on any iPad that has USB-C. It is recommended to use an SSD because of faster transfer speeds. I bought a usb-c sd card reader that I plug into the iPad and transfer the files off that way. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@clifhellner1493 here’s a video where I talked about editing on an external ssd: czcams.com/video/0aoSunWELtg/video.html
Awesome, thanks for the follow up Josh! Watched the video. Great info. I have a 2017 IPad Pro. It’s only 64gb. Being that it’s a bit older, I was curious about the processing power and if what my iPad has, is enough. However, if you’re editing straight from an SSD, does the processing power even matter? In theory, I would think since it’s coming directly from the SSD, the IPad (cpu) isn’t getting bogged down with the 4K footage. Would that be accurate to say, or is that wrong? This stuff can be confusing 😐. Here’s the specs of my IPad: A10X Fusion chip with 64‑bit architecture
Embedded M10 coprocessor.
@@clifhellner1493Related to processing power, you should be more than good. I tested a few clips on my friends 2017 iPad Pro. Sadly, the 2017 iPad Pro has a lightning port instead of USB-C. I’m pretty sure LumaFusion doesn’t allow editing off of external drives over the lightning port, because it is too slow. You can transfer files off of a drive onto the ipad using an adapter, its really slow though, airdrop is faster; but, that will be using the 64 gb of storage on the ipad.
does lumafusion import or export alpha channels?
Is it easier to use the Pencil than the trackpad or a mouse when editing?
I think so, plus you can edit on the couch or somewhere else more comfortable. If I do want to sit at a desk and use a monitor, I use the trackpad with my left hand and a mouse in the right. It works really well that way too.
Thank you so much for your valuable video. Can I use lumafusion on new iPad Mini - 2021 6th gen?
Is it compatible on the device? Is it too small to edit a professional video?
Thank you very much!
The new iPad mini is a great device for LumaFusion. I even edit on my iPhone sometimes so the screen will be fine. You can always connect to a monitor, if you want a bigger screen too.
@@JoshuaTimothy Thank you very much, I've subscribed your channel. Have a great time! Cheers!
Can you explain step by step how to edit?
NIce work Joshua - love the video, simple and to the point. IHO I prefer Artlist, my subscription and license covers my work as well as any client work without the client having to buy a sound track license and if you end your subscription, you don't get any copyright strikes with Artlist but this is not the case with Epidemic Sound. Anyway each to there own:)
Thanks for the support Clinton. I’ll have to check Artlist out.
@@JoshuaTimothy I only use Artlist for music - and storyblocks for additional clips for BRoll etc if I am caught lacking😉
🙌
Is the interface (and performance) much different on the iPad Mini 6?
The interface will be the same, just less space to work. The performance will be better than the iPad Air that I used in this video. I really enjoy editing on a larger screen, but if portability is what your going for, the mini is a great option. LumaFusion works great even on a smaller iPhone screen, so the iPad mini would give you a bit more space.
