- Somebody kindly shared a dumpsite location with me; so I went for a visit, explored and found some nice old and interesting things.

Hello Tom. What a great way to spend a very cold evening, sat in a warm living room together watching your latest video on the TV. It was great to wander with you on screen, as the terrain would be too much for us to explore these days. Don't worry about the senior moments, we have plenty of those, but we always blame the stupid camera when the settings randomly change 🙃🐼🤠

I am in awe that you know the proper names for all things you find, which I (an American) would simply describe as “a thingy”. It’s quite embarrassing , actually! Your voice is an absolute treasure!! I laughed when you said you had a senior moment because I imagine you to be in your 30s! 😊

I always get a little sad and a whole lot of mad, when I see dumpsites right above a water way. It helps that you acknowledge rather than avoid addressing the problem. Thanks for your adventure and giving me reason to smile.

Plastic in the environment is one of my biggest dislikes... screw top bottles aren't very likeable either, but it's good to see a new Tom Burleigh video. That glass dish thing with the starburst pattern is lovely! I'd happily join you on a litter pick one day when I'm more financially stable, but sadly burning a lot of it is the only way to deal with it 😑 Even the rivers themselves are just full of contaminants. Anyway, enough of that 😂 Hope you are well Tom and I look forward to more videos.
Plastic is indeed one of the biggest blights on the environment, I think a litter pick with you could be quite fun. 🙂. I hope you're doing well too, and that you (and I too), manage to get a bit more financially stable.

Hi Charles, I think a Roman pot might do it for me, but can't guarantee to ever have my mind well and truly blown by a find. I found a George the 3rd era silver tankard in a charity shop today, and smiled a bit🙂. Actually, I found some copper in a skip too, and smiled about the same amount for that. 😀

What fascinates me about this one,and bear with me,I mean not to insult:
We humans,we are typically drawn to the visually beautiful landscapes,the picturesque postcard places.
But this place,it is beautiful in its ugliness.
It’s true!
You tread a place of rot,fallen debris,nothing to offer the civilized eyball.
And therein lies the beauty.

Wonderful to see you back again, Tom. That transformer you found has a similar look to an old doorbell transformer that I used to see in the '60s but dates back to the 30s and 40s.

In my opinion that dumpsite is definitely worth the odd walkover, because those two green bottle finds were unexpected, and you never know.

I find my camera doing it's own thing as well, usually at the most inopportune time. That must have been quite a workout on the side of the hill. You found quite a nice variety of interesting finds. Love the sun through the glass bottles and really enjoyed the walk. It would be interesting to see what could be in the tunnel, the things inside it may be a little protected from being smashed up having that guard on the entrance. Tom, I believe the glass object you found and thought was a bottom for a teacup is the lower half of a rounded butter server. I have one that belonged to my grandmother and it looks very much like it. That's why it has that lip ridge around it., to hold the round butter in place. It has a rounded dome top.

I have to admit, as I was watching this, a thought came to me. Fiction written surrounding the 'Character of Tom's Voice'. Not really fan fiction as such, but more a fleshing out- in a totally non-doxing way- a completely fictional character based on just a couple elements- voice and view/view point/point of view. The thoughts that fallowed were on the lines of: what age would he be, what foods does he like, his favorite sweater discription... 'Tom's Voice' is already a character in my repertoire. Others are 'Dark Shoes', 'Giggles' Other Life' and 'Dickens and Milne Love Child'.
Between my over-active imagination, the COVID-borne life-limits and the CZcams factor, the products of my weirdly creative head are a constant amusement. I sit beside myself and just laugh and laugh....

This is rather a great bottle dumpsite Tom. Happy hunting ! 😊. The war club is, of course, a Tomahawk ! Thankyou for honouring what might have been a Mohawk warrior. His stance is proudly defiant - he is now known as Kanienke:hake, not Mohawk. There are about 8 or 9 syllables there. It is power to learn and speak his name.

your channel is the last bottle digging site I follow. Leaving in the south of England it's always nice to see the north of England countryside as well. Some lovely bottle finds there

I loved today’s video. I would swear while listening to BBC radio this morning, perhaps 1A, I heard background music so very similar to the music on your video at time stamp 30:26. It was just a snippet of music, but I instantly heard “your” walkabout music and was thrilled to see this video this evening. Some great finds, thanks for the great video. That saucer looking thing is the bottom of a butter dish, it would have had a dome lid also.
I think the glass dish is for a wine bottle, so any drips do not end up on the tablecloth.

Hi Andrew, it was good to be out. Out of interest, do you know if there's a metal detecting club in the area? I looked online and found one in Addingham, but was kinda hoping to get into detecting around Calderdale. (And Whitby, where I've managed to find two metal patches by eye, and think I'd like to detect there).

The only downside on this video was that the higher notes of the music hurt my ears, and when I turned the volume down so they woolen hurt, I wasn't able to hear your narration, lol.
