I'm so glad zenophage is getting rangefinder five times. It really needed the buff. Hope I can see the final shape with it.

and it is being converted into energy weapon, that is absolutely without a doubt a right step
@@dxt2891 for it to be competitive they need to have it regen ammo, and have a mag size the same as Sweet Business
I Xenophage that bad? Lmao.
Confused
The lightfall website has some more unsaid tidbits like the strand subclass names (w= architect, h= threadrunner, t= tyrant) and how the warlock can "twist strand into sentient creatures to do their bidding" which I'm SUPER excited for
Architects huh
damn architects
We were thr architects all along
Warlocks can finally be The Architects, huh? Nice

I have a feeling Bungie had a fantastic time developing this year of D2
Doubt it. Bunghole has 866 devs. Sucker Punch has 160 yet they made GoT a more competent looter than D2 somehow, and their Legends update was free and it was revolutionary. Its painfully clear D2s 15 yr old engine is a monumental limitation. Lightfall will be held back as a result. The devs are also incompetent. Blight Ranger and countless other exotics are completely unusable and some are still held back by 4 YEAR OLD bugs.
@@BenLA5 by looking through your comments, i would quiver seeing your “battle station”
@@BenLA5 Another whiner. Go back to crying on Reddit.
A billion dollars would do that huh
I can agree wq campaign was amazing, last two seasons was bad BUT This season looks awesome! And with that much money i have feelings they gonna succeed in LF.
I think whenever they put a mandatory grapple section in, they should also put in a deepsight path just so the player has a choice how to traverse.
They could honestly just make the mandatory grapple sections unrelated to having Strand equipped. Like if your on arc, you can still grapple to those specific points with Strand
i dont think theyre going to have mandatory areas considering it was originally hunter exclusive.
I think it'd be like Stasis Empowerment sections from the BL campaign. A "how to strand" section if you will.
@@cataposs oh im sure therell be teaching sections like that, but in the general campaign i doubt itll be *necessary* for traversal.
I doubt it will ever be mandatory, maybe there will be some lore that you'll need it for but I wouldn't exactly call lore books that 90% of players don't read "mandatory"
I love how much the devs are doing for quality of life. I love new stuff but quality of life makes the game enjoyable after the rush of new content dies down
It literally breathes some needed fresh air into the game. I might finally come back to it after dropping out with Beyond Light. I'm genuinely excited to see this changes before giving Bungie some money again. It's the first time in a long time that I want to dive back into Destiny beyond still following the lore after I stopped playing.
@@Nero_PR you should come back and play WQ it’s such a good campaign
We still need them to update the games basic framework so its not struggling to keep up with itself anymore
I might actually do a raid this time around =/
The grapple appears to be in the same slot that grenades are, I think that might mean the grapple is a replacement or alternative to the grenade slot, maybe with a similar cool down
Or jump
that would be interesting with balance. Heres a grappling hook to move crazy around the map, but you have no grenade.
@@AyeJayEmm Or maybe they swap when you're mid-air or something.
imagine if it was tied to your mobility stat
@@atomic_wait or maybe you hold grenade to grapple
It looks really positive but the it’s the load out function for me. Imo the biggest quality of life change they can possibly make at this point
Facts I have been waiting since I played the division 2
lfg as well. its not going to be a huge change since lfg exists in so many places, but being able to do that in-game is going to be such a nice quality of life update.
Load Outs is a game changer
I think most people care more about lfg, but they're both really important.
@@jasonmarcus1683 id say its equal. lfg is huge for solo players and raiders, but loadouts are going to be a massive qol change for *everybody* regardless of what theyre playing.

Finally, destiny has become a true Strand-type game

As soon as I saw the city preview in the trailer, I instantly got hyped. Urban exploration has always been a thing that I have wanted in Destiny; exploring in an area that is build more vertically than horizontally. I remember making a post before the reveal saying how cool it would be if something like the Last City or SOMETHING urban could become our next patrol zone, and the mad lads at Bungie have done it. Super stoked about it and I cannot wait to fly around like Spiderman in February.
I get Hype when they announce that no more sunsett content)
Last time we really got to patrol an urban environment was the final mission of red war so I’m HYPED
Ohhhhh the idea of climbing the inside of a TALL building for a few mins and then transition into going across buildings, reminiscent of D1 Felwinter Peak just not as difficult?
There's a common issue between Destiny and WF now: Content Islands. The new stuff feels so removed from the old, so when you're finally back in the normal old Destiny, you FEEL it.
In the post review interview joe Blackburn said starting in lightfall old strikes will get tune ups and also they are touching the the vanguard playlists as a whole. I don’t really know that means but I guess it’s a starting point.
@@limefish865 Now I have hope in bungie. First time after they deleted content)
@@limefish865 A late start is better than no start, right?
As datto explained the whiplash of it i finally understood why i felt so bored last season. Since i started d2 last season was the first where i didnt complete the challenges or the season pass. I just felt like everything was stale
@@limefish865 .....right this is the same person who said the age of content droughts were far behind us.....not 5 minutes into the reveal...🙄
Sorry brah but the gap between what bungie says they will do/implement and what actually is done is several AU's wide at this point.
5:00 Damn, i want that xeno with 5 rangefinders
I love how on the mock-up for the in game LFG they have someone advertising "flawless" while also saying it's their first run and they need help.
I'm hoping somebody thought to put combat mods in the guardian rank unlocks. Please, please make unlocking those part of the new player experience and end the character building blocks being locked behind RNG.
Same. I really like how the Gift of the Thundergods thing comes with combat style mods so I'm guessing Bungie is somewhat aware of how neccessary they are for build crafting.
10:34 remember when we saw stasis wall nades in the trailer for the first time? They threw it on a wall and jumped on a platform. We thought it'd be a huge part in how we were going to traverse the level and such. The grappling hook is probably the same
My jaw dropped when I got home from work and saw the lightfall trailer. Looks, visually phenomenal!
The grapple seems really fun, I wonder how the cooldown on it works
hunter snot-dive seems interesting
It's probably either like Shatterdive or Icarus Dash.
I'm so excited for it that I'm beginning to work on Spiderman fashion on hunter
i only hope that it works similar of how grenade launcher's remote detonation funtions, it's intuitive and with a limited range, i see it blending pretty well with the sandbox
@@WayneRoberts72 doubt it
It'll prolly be one of 2 things: 1: You have a cool down. 2: it's a one time use until you hit the ground
I would have loved the Dreadnaught coming back as a patrol space with King's Fall, and Sunless Cell as a remastered strike. I know they didn't do that with VoG and Venus, but we did get the Cosmodrome and 3 great remastered strikes way back in the day, so I had some hope. New lights have already met Alak-Hul as the Lightblade, but as the Darkblade he was terrifying. That encounter is something every guardian should have to fight through.
New reveal was crazy!
The Neptune city looks amazing
Really hyped for the in-game lfg, but i hope they expand instead of just copying and pasting the app lfg. I wish the final version to work similar to ffxiv party finder, where you have a bunch of tags and configs to tailor the party to whatever you need.
Want a quick clear? Just mark duty complete, this way only players that cleared the content before can join.
Want to learn some new content? Tag as a practice party, this way players that also want to learn can join and players that are willing to teach know what to expect.
Want at least one warlock in the party? Lock one of the slots as warlock only.
If the lfg is robust enough with configs like this im pretty sure that the toxicity wont be as bad.
Somehow I expect it to include none of this even though this is exactly what it needs.
you can see it has tags in the preview they show, like experienced, chill, and some other stuff iirc. so i do think they're keeping a system like that in mind thankfully.
Agreed, just having an LFG is nice, but how we'll use it requires some specificity. I know they know that, just don't know how they'll put it together.
its actually killed lfg for a lot of people. I can no longer risk helping new players which i enjoy doing in case they now get upset and leave negative feedback.
@@Predatalien8859 you mean like the commendations? theres no negative commendations, only positive ones, so you dont have to worry about people abusing them

@@yahoo526 thanks I'll take that into consideration next time I make a joke. If that's ok with you
grateful that Datto uploads things like this very quickly so I know how to feel about everything
The grapple looks incredible but I’m more excited for the amount of game breaking bugs it will inevitably bring
It seems to only be able to move you horizontally so all jumping puzzles going forwards are going to be vertical to have any difficulty or easy mode by strand flying across the map.
Honestly going to be frustrating or funny *depending on which one you are) trying to do a strike with arc and strand flying ahead and everyone else being literally left behind
Strand is like, somehow you are pulling at the fabric of time and space and bending it to your will. Like you're becoming a shaper of matter yourself. It's a crazy concept but I love it
NOTE TO ANYONE READING THIS: You don’t need to fully download or even open destiny on epic to get the 30th pack. You just need to add destiny to your library and click Grab on the pack. That’s it. If you’re busy or on vacation or something, you can do that and download destiny later. Pack only is available on epic but the loot and cosmetics you get from playing there can be used on your (main?) steam account
I was never given an option to grab the pack, I have it, and haven't received anything from it except the gjallerhorn mission. I want the fuckin sparrow
@@theirresponsibleghost7748 you mean the sparrow you get from the xur hoard?
@@nikkosmit6985 is that the one thats showed in the 30th pack?
@@theirresponsibleghost7748 30th pack comes with both the dungeon for gjally, and access to all of the treasure chests at the Dares xur place. You get a sparrow, a ship (the floating rock ship) and 3 full sets of cosemetics, one per class, based on previous Bungie games
i love how in the witch queen trailer, sava'thun was bathing in a lake, of dead hive, now here calus is resting I'm what seems like lava
I hope there is good integration between the in-game lfg and the companion app lfg so that those two pools aren't separate
If only they kept Forsaken in the game, new players can enjoy one of the best expansions without it being sunset.
10:10 it looks like the grapple is the grenade and it has 2 charges which I mean makes sense since well… there would have to be some trade off for using it and I’m honestly okay with that
Might be the grenade aspect for the hunter, because would be a bit broken for every class to have two charges, to push then escape.
@@blazingdragonn4158 grapple twice then wait for the 2 minute cooldown 🤔
Huh. I would have assumed it would replace the melee.
Edit: Yep, it uses the left arm.
Oooh good catch!
if that's the case, then grenades are dead to me
I think there deffo will be mandatory grappling sections in the campaign but it'll probably be like how you were auto switched to stasis during the beyond light campaign so you wouldn't have to fiddle with your menus when it gets to a grapple section
Also that while the campaign and any other content in new Muna will be designed with grappling in mind there will definitely be different paths to accommodate for non strand users
watched this live but I love how you break things down and explain everything. Thanks maaaaaaaaan!!!
10:40 I feel like we said the same thing about Stasis, and in the end it turned out fine.
Stasis broke everything, and still allows you to get into areas you are not supposed to. Even used in pvp to gain weird angles. The grappling hook will be an annoyance in pvp, and will cause the better players with better movement even more movement options. The grappling hook is probably a big reason for the airborne effectiveness stat
Neptune humans while the rest of the solar system is getting attacked: 😴
I think Neomuna, Neputune, and this society and hunkered down seeing the roaming apocalypse that is the Witness. Maybe even made some kind of Bargin with the Witness to leave them alone, to which they went into Wakanda mode and decided that the #1 rule in life was DO NOT LEAVE OUR CYBERPUNK SYNTHWAVE SAFEHAVEN
I'm excited to see what strand weapons will be like
LFG in game looks like it might solve issues for solo players but I honestly doubt it as it doesn't sound like they're considering protections for players ie being booted before the rewards
Theres an easy fix. Disable kicking players during the activity, if you want to boot someone you have to go back to orbit. Also make that everyone has to go back to orbit manually and individually, so that the party leader cannot open the chest and take everyone to orbit before they have the chance to open the chest.
@@bes7054 definitely not a good idea and ruins 5 other players experience
@@bes7054 Isn't this what their social ranking this will entail? If you do shit like that you're gonna lose mega social credit points. So if you got rated as being a shitbag then maybe people won't join up with you in LFG. It's an LFG system meaning you can make a group and everything before deciding to jump in, it's not matchmaking where it's just gonna randomly assemble 6 people together.
@@TheAcidicMolotov how? If you're using lfg and want to boot someone you'll have to go back to orbit either way to fill the spot. And for everyone leaving individually... Sure it will make things a little slower but definitely worth it if means protecting players from scumbags. Thays how it works in ffxiv and it works perfectly there.
@@GenghisGaming I dont think you can lose "social credits" since theres no "negative commendations". So if you have a low score it either means you just started playing, you dont play as much or you dont get as much commendations for whatever. But anyway this is just a suggestion based on the other game i play, which is ffxiv, and it works pretty well there im sure theres better solutions.
I saw a few people saying "RIP DIM" when loadouts were announced, but I honestly don't think they'll be as useful as what DIM offers. Don't get me wrong, I think in-game loadouts are fantastic...for console players.
Using DIM on PC and having essentially unlimited load outs, synergy between D2 Armor Picker, drag-and-drop functionality from vault to any character...I just don't expect the in-game version to be quite as robust.
Yeah - while the loadout part of DIM might be redundant when the in-game loadouts are implemented, my main use of DIM is still remote access to my vault. Doubt that could ever be replaced with an in-game feature
On a high-end PC you're probably right, but like you said for us console players it's a welcome addition.
Grappling hook plus Salvation's grip might be instrument in getting out of the map lol
Yeah i was also pretty confused about the new location at first, even conflicted if i liked it. Then i took some time to think..and at one point in the showcase when chowing gameplay of it i just thought: ODST: NEW MOMBASA, or even the skyscraper level in Reach.
After that i was completely fine with this new location
Quicksilver Storm is really dope. Being a longtime fan of high RoF Auto Rifles, this thing is immensely fun to me.
Plus, it's primary fire mode feels alot like Steelfeather Repeater, and that was my favorite AR since Doctrine of Passing. Laying on the trigger creates an occasional homing round that just adds a little extra firepower and that was pretty nice. The alt fire grenades are fun and put out some hurt.
All in all, QSS is definitely my Kinetic of choice for a good long while.
I am actually kind of excited for the in game LFG mechanic. Being a solo player without a lot of time on their hands, it's nice to see something built into the game in such a way. Maybe I'll actually be able to do raids and other end game content now.
Same I play alone so I rarely get the cool gear from raids and dungeons so I’m really excited
We expected a Hive magic subclass with Lightfall, instead we got the Matrix.
The grapple looks like it might have momentum conservation, so I wonder if you'll be able to slingshot yourself with proper angling...
the commendation system in final fantasy xiv is definitely simpler than destiny's seems to be (in ffxiv, you can give one player in your party a commendation at the end of an activity, and there's no nuance to what that commendation is; it's not mandatory and who you give it to is up to you, but it's common to give it to the tank, who is leading the party/taking the brunt of enemy attention, or the healer, who is keeping everybody alive), but personally, when i started playing ffxiv and i did my first activity with other players and got two commendations at the end, i felt INCREDIBLE, and just that simple act did a lot to help me feel more confident in playing the game with other people. i hope that this system gives new destiny players that same little burst of joy and confidence that my Baby's First Dungeon Commendations gave me in ffxiv.
additionally, in ffxiv, there's a thing called a "mentor" system, wherein players can fulfill certain requirements and prove their mastery in certain areas of the game, and as i recall, one of those requirements is a pretty high number of total commendations over your history of playing; when a player becomes a mentor, they can have a special icon next to their display name, showing that they're someone who knows what they're doing and can potentially be a guide or source of knowledge for new players. i could see destiny having something similar, which could be a new sort of aspiration for really dedicated players who need a new Number Go Up thing to chase.
14:42 man… they really did mess things up badly lol
It only took eons.....but we finally getting a in game load out. Thank the Architects!
I can finally pretend to be Scorpion from Mortal Kombat when I play as a Hunter in Lightfall now.

What I’ve consistently noticed is that not a single player in the trailer using the grappling hook used their double jump ability after swinging, which I’m interpreting as “this IS you double jump ability”. If you use the grapple, you can’t use Glide/Double Jump/Lift.
I love that sorta synthwave aesthetic to Neomuna. Bungo is going to go nuts on the art and design for that location.
The collaboration is cool idk how to feel about it being eververse locked like when I saw the 30th being free I thought they added the collab armour to its loot pool.
The trailer was amazing and seeing the new characters and designs was definitely a cool thing very curious about the women that can make weapons from her arms. The new supers look interesting and grapple is odd yet how will it work in other maps or pvp. The seasonal story at the start is nice something not hive is nice for a bit
E- also we see calus bathing infront of the witness 11/10 cutscene when it comes out
Calus's Dark Bathwater, the drink all Destiny lore nerds will be salivating over
The collab armour is this seasons eververse armour, I.e the whole set is obtainable with bright dust
I would’ve liked to hear your thoughts when Bungie stated there would be no more “vaulted expansions” and what it really means or what could mean for old content such as old planets and raids being returned.
I was look for that comment and I agree with you on 100 % 😁
Old content isn't coming back.
@@matthewnewman6039 they reworked their engine to be able to handle more and more content so the possibility of old content coming back at one point is possible .
@@Gee-bg2rv Doubtful. They reworked it to hold more new content.
i imagine the grappling hook will only be mandatory in certain areas where it forces you to equip strand, kind of like communing with the darkness in beyond light when you get the stasis supercharge
Ok hear me out. You're using strand and an aspect you can use an aspect (most likely warlock) which allows you to use the strings to control enemies and turn them to you're side. Personally I think it would be an amazing idea
Like a puppet? That's sounds awesome
Like that one Artifact from back during Rise of Iron?
They have the same commendation system in overwatch too. I’m just worried about something toxic forming. People also gotta realize it’s going to add an extra 30s to a minute at the end of every activity.
I’m more worried about the guardian ranks. If it stays as new light stuff then that’s 100% fine. If it starts becoming endgame stuff, then there could be a lot of sweats for example: be rank 10+ or kick. This could be fine, but if there’s lighthouse stuff (or master raid stuff) it’s going to cause a lot of issues in the community.
The rest was great. Hopefully they stick the landing with Lightfall’s story like they did with Witch Queen.
I’m at a point where my main want from Bungie outside of QoL and the current stuff we get, is more story content. I want to be able to spend more time immersing in the story telling instead of farming gear/level grind for 90% of a season.
If I was to guess how content would be designed around the grappling hook, I would probably guess that there are grapple points which can be used outside of strand. And (or alternatively) there are shortcuts/alternate routes designed around those with strand equipped.
Its really great to see the new Ketchcrash activity has solid enemy density thus far. If bungie keeps the current vibe of enemy density, I say theres a great chance lightfall is even better than witch queen.
I would love to see a season/seasons focused purely on revamping strikes and old crucible maps or just bringing new ones into the game. I’ve been on and off with the game since D1 but it’s pretty depressing to run the inverted spire and play crucible on the same 5 maps.
Totally agree. New content is always fun but it sucks to go right back to old core playlists that haven't been touched in years.
Tbf, they are bringing old raids back and brought some crucible maps back, today i booted up mayhem and loaded into the map and went like "hold up, this looks different, where am i?"
Walks to an open space, sees Saturn and realises the map is on the dreadnought*
"What in the fu**? When did they announce this?". It was a very confusing experience ngl, but i was happy with the surprise pvp map
At this point, I’d rather play a Cloudstrider xD
They look awesome!
FINALLY loadouts! A lot of the time I just don't bother at all with swapping out all my equipment & mods for different modes because it's such a pain.
It's a small thing, but I really like that the class philosophy shines through on the strand supers again:
Hunters take the abstract paracausal force and shape that power into a tool that they can more easily conceive of & understand, and which they can direct more precisely. (Gun, Knives, Bow, Staff, Sickles, and now Rope Dart)
Titans take their power into and around themselves, using it to augment their own body and conjuring simple structures (Hammer of Sol was exceptional and originally required going to a specific forge on Mercury to make one that the titan could then conjure at will from then forwards).
Warlocks channel and direct paracausal forces in their purest forms with minimal attempt to reform the power into a distinct structure (Exceptions being Dawnblade's swords which just are a thing, another practise we players hadn't heard of until the Red War, but which replaced Sunsinger's Radiance which did follow this design ethos, and Shadebinder's staff which tbf stasis was literally all about creating structures so it arguably fits).
Looks really cool and awesome. But I'm also so curious as to the story reasons as to why all this new? I was kind of expecting lightfall to be climatic but more familiar? Seems like a weird place for the beginning of the end.
hopefully it means they're setting up a base for Destiny after the Final Shape
They need to make a 9 player activity. The days of grinding well or Escalation are some of the most fine moments that I just want back
The last time they sent 9 guardians on a mission, it didn't end well
@@FirstnameLastname-uu2zf lmao they were playing Gm savathuns song bro it’s not their fault 😭

Appreciate the commentary!
The Guardian Rank thing seems cool. As someone who dipped out in Shadowkeep and hasn't really been back, every time I get the itch I know I'm going to hop in, have fun shooting things for a couple hours, then be totally lost and/or overwhelmed about how to best progress. Something to better focus players on the way up to end game would be great.
A new strand type game
Kojima needs to be stopped
Dato the goat for the quick recap for those of us at work today 😮💨🙏🏼🙏🏼
Quick correction, the exotic AR is not ARC based. It is a kinetic Auto Rifle. On the flip side, I'm super excited for the expansion and strand. Glad I took as many breaks from the game as I did.
The laugh when you said “maybe try being a good person” made me laugh too. Great video as always Datto. If it wasn’t for you, I would not have found and fallen in love with this game.
the witness and new strand based “veil”enemies may still arrive for the lightfall raid with calus invading neptune being the final boss of the lightfall campaign. I really like the 80s-ish art style of neptune it reminds me of titan and the posthumous cayde mission. Aside from kingsfall what if oryx is coming back as a foil to savathun or perhaps as a vengeful ally now that we know the hive were tricked. I maintain that if nightfall is the end of day, then we can infer lightfall would be the end of darkness...
oryx is dead lmao
So this neptune destination, is it supposed to be a floating city? Because neptune is a gas planet and doesnt have a surface.
@@Kawasaki10rr I think so because the people that live on there are called cloud striders I believe
If we think of this as a new game, I think that’s a great thing. Mixes things up, fresh things to see and explore. Yay new content that really feels new
So quick thing could we see more space in the postmaster or a new postmaster system? Lifting some resource caps could help clear the post master
I can agree that it looked like a completely different game. I thought that it would be pyramid ships left and right at the last city but nope; a brand new city that has existed for a long time on Neptune being under attack by Calus. And I am on board with this!
personally, the whole "woah Neptune, a planet in our very own system has an entire civilization that we never knew about" feels like lazy writing.
For me, the strand type seems to be some form of quantum string manipulation instead of extra dimensional. Which is really cool
Same thing, extra dimensional strings.
They said it's the ability to warp reality to your needs
FFXIV commendation system is anonymous and not shown to anyone but the person getting the commendation at the end of the instance which I think is actually super important for it to not be toxic.
I imagine that after the final shape, our guardian aught too go on some adventures with the star horse
I actually like the new planets looks and the way I can be spider man lmao
Wonder if Eager Edge was kinda of a "test drive" for grapple, they both seems to function pretty similarly.
Grapple is the meat hook from doom eternal
I have a prediction that the grappling hook will be an alternate to jumps glides and lifts, like blink
I agree with everything especially the power creep I played inverted spire and the scarlet keep strike with randoms and we one phased the boss I was so shocked that it happened
Not at all what I thought lightfall would be about. I thought it was going to show the last city being attacked and us getting necromancer abilities. But this was a nice subversion of expectation, very interesting seeing these different types of humans on Neptune. It looks like they're half man and machine or maybe they're wearing high tech suits 🤔?
I feel like the city falling might happen in the seasons, maybe the last one.
The new Exotic auto rifle is based on Nano tech (both being from this new city). So definitley seems their tech is nuts haha
First thing that struck my mind seeing the new city and how the Guardians (presumably) were dressed was... Corporate Neonpunk.
Which is something I hate.
you really hit the nail on the head with that point about whiplash. i stopped playing D2 midway through season of the worthy, and didn't pick it back up until shortly before WQ dropped, going from cool and interesting new content straight back to the usual grind slowly killed my motivation until i just stopped playing again. Personally, I think the bounty system either needs to be overhauled or replaced, they are honestly the least enjoyable part of the game, fixing it would require tuning the season pass better which i think all players would prefer and would do wonders for retention over FOMO.
0:42 "Why this city in partakeculer"
😄 Never change Datto, you're the best lol
Lightfall seems like itll be on par with expansions like Forsaken, Beyond Light, TTK, and I personally am really excited about it, Strand really took me by surprise but in a really good way and i feel as if, yes it might be “fling yourself at mach 12 into a wall” broken but shenanigans like that will be just stupid fun, especially to a brainlet like me, The overall theme of Lightfall is also something that took me by surprise, i thought it would be something more menacing and doomsday like rather than Cyberpunk but destiny, Nonetheless im very excited for what it has in store, and i genuinely believe that this may bring more player that dont have Destiny, into the franchise, Aesthetics are turned up to 11 too and thats something that i LOVE even if im a console pleb running at 30 FPS
Did anyone else not feel “scared” or “worried” with the trailer? I feel like lightfall seems less ominously now
Nice indepth intelligent showcase datto 👍👏 what always expect from you thanks
Maybe by myself on this take, but I think it would be a cool and trolly opportunity to have it where as we learn strand, our supers and abilities occasionally don’t work when we want as we haven’t mastered it until what we can assume is the end of the campaign, would add some depth to it never being used before us

“And I think they would REALLY need to mess things up badly for Lightfall itself to not be good.”
I want to preface this by saying I’m one of the few who has no problems with Lightfall. That being said, WOOOOOW this did not age well.
I think the in game LFG will help a lot since not a lot of people use the Destiny companion app or any major LFG services/sites. Except for Xbox because Xbox players have LFG built into their consoles. I like the idea but I’ll hold out my reservations til it launches because I know the average guardian doesn’t know about menus and systems.
The current lfg system in Xbox is so broken cause if you don’t have a fireteam already assembled then it won’t look for one in raids and dungeons you’ll just get sent in alone
I hope they make improvements to the vault UI as well. Make it accessible from everywhere, and put in some filters and search box.
I’m intimidated by the xenophage with five range finders
I also saw that lol
Really disappointed they chose the big showdown climax spectacular to be in some random city we never heard of and have no attachment to. Really kills a lot of the emotional investment we've built up over the past many seasons to have the crisis on some place we don't have any interaction with
It seems that while Solar, Void and Arc refer to the four fundamental forces (Strong nuclear, Weak nuclear + Gravity, Electromagnetic), Darkness subclasses refer to exotic or theoretical concepts, with the Anti-Entropic crystals of Stasis and now with Strand clearly referencing the String theory, I predict that the 3rd darkness subclass will be based around either quantum mechanics or time manipulation
Literal chills when watching the showcase ☠️
at 2:04 they have similarities with Rhulk. The skin and the Blade have the tipical look. Maybe thats the result form if a lifeform is transformed by the Witness like Rhulk
I think the witness did something will rhulk after we kill him and used it to create the creatures.
the baby rhulks look interesting
you can see resonance on their shoulders
I absolutely love how different Lightfall is from everything else, it's as if Bungie looked in my brain and thought, 'yep let's make a DLC out of this idiot's aesthetic choices'
I CANNOT WAIT
Strand looks awesome. But if also looks like it's going to dwarf other subclasses, both in movement for PVE, and in general for PVP. Unless the grappling hook like thing is the melee ability, or replaces something. (Instead of getting Melee, Grenade, grapple *and* class abilities)
Can't wait for the Campaign, LFG finder, and loadouts though, they all look awesome, and the loadouts have been a much needed thing for years.
After the Final Shape I would love a story based, open world rpg either set as a prequel or a sequel. While there is some exploration element to the different zones I find myself wanting to explore more than what we have.
I feel like Kings Fall coming back was kinda wasted this season since the season is more centered around the Fallen. Wrath of the Machine seemed like the more logical choice
What would replace the raid exotic from Wrath then now that we have Outbreak Prime(Outbreak Perfected) Also the returning raids were never canon(They technically are but as for as of recent? They never were), they're just there to exist. VoG coming back in a Vex season was just a coincidence.
