Saw them in Leicester in 2019 with my partner. The first time I'd ever seen or heard of them, the first time I'd ever heard this song - tears were literally pouring down my face.

So many wonderful pearls of the oysters for you to discover.
And "Dancing" is a lovely, beautiful song.

I was on teaching practice in Shrewsbury in 1973 with John Jones. Pete Crawley was with us and had a car. On a few occasions, we went to the local folk clubs and after listening to several desultory performers, John would step up and set the club alight. I think John and Pete got jobs in Canterbury. I decided that I couldn't stand kids and did other things with some success. John - if you read this - well done! - folk music was always your first love. Age UK Darlington will give you a contact if you want it. I don't do facebook or tweeting. Pleased you survived your colon trauma, best wishes, John Moorley

Do it! Make it happen. I may be a bit insane, having travelled all the way across the US, to Canada, to England, and to Denmark for 5 days to see them over and over in the last 25 years, but... yeah, do it! It’s well worthwhile!

If you live in the UK you should be able to do this easily. I live in the US and had to go to the UK to do it (not the only reason, mind you, but a highlight of the trip).

The lyric you can trust in the power of music would be better if it was trust in the power of mercy .

Hmm..I disagree - I think the contracts between music (the secular) and prayer (the religious) is important because it opens it up to different types of people and the way they might live their lives. These small details mean a lot.
