This is one of the songs that always makes me cry, because of how much it reminds me of my dad. Only good tears though.
This song is the reason why I fell in love with the cello.
Wow. That's great to know. Chopper was incredible on the cello. He left the band years ago. John is my uncle him and chopper still keep in touch. I always thought I could see some cello or violin riff of the oysterbands on an advert on the TV. A bank or insurance add or something similar where they have an atmospheric sound. I can't remember which add I saw where it gave me the idea. It would have gone perfectly with it at the time.
This is my absolute favourite Oysterband song. I love their music! So cool.

John Smith you can get lyrics and translation. Just google it. John Jones is not a native speaker but it is heartfelt. He also gets his tongue round Spanish in 20th(?) April-not sure of date ha ha
