Trendy, Current, Casual Looks for the Dramatic Classic: some simple styles

  • Hello Sweet Friends! I'm continuing my series on trendy looks for the different Image IDs, focusing on the Image IDs where I've received the most questions.
    As with my Soft Dramatic video -- these are just my suggestions based on what I see in the stores and on the streets right now. I by no means intend for you to wear these things if they aren't your aesthetic. And if you hate these outfits, it doesn't mean you're not a DC. It just means you don't like these outfits.
    Let me know what you think!

    I would strongly recommend against small prints, thin/narrow straps, and slouchy/clingy fabric as a DC myself. But doesn't hurt to give them a try if you never have!

      Thank you for sharing your experiences! I think there is just so much variety in every image ID that I have have choose between:
      (1) giving super restrictive recommendations that will probably help 80% of people
      (2) giving broad recommendations which won't work for everyone
      And I think 2 is more fun 🌸
      Fwiw I have seen David Kibbe style a DC with spaghetti straps so it's definitely not illegal lol

    Love the DC look. I think it’s my favourite. Super cool and ✨expensive✨. Like blending a Disney villain and rich girl together in a blender 🥰

    I found as a DC that the 90s baggy jeans or wide pants with a fitted singlet tucked in, a belt and crop top over the top of the singlet with the keyhole detailing at the breast area really accentuates our curve and the straight lines and then paired with an oversized jacket or button shirt over the top can look so effortless and also put together. I wear these outfits swapping the pants around or jackets for blazers and cord oversized jackets and I ALWAYS get compliments. I get more compliments than when I would wear nicely fitted clothing. It's crazy I thought I'd get "lost" in these clothes and although my mother complains I should wear more fitted outfits, I find the layering and mix of tight with loose clothes looks incredible and I feel so "like me". Adding chunky round earrings, a fitted head band or my hair wavy with mini sailormoon scrunchy tied buns on top of my head looks so feminine to balance our yang undercurrent. I pair with vans or rounded chunky boots and damn the whole DC is balanced and glows!

    This is the best video I could find on building a dramatic classic wardrobe. ❤ Everyone else been showing the blazers and office wear like outfits I've been wondering how to style myself in a more classical way... You showed me there are so many options for dramatic classics as well! Thank you so much! I hope your channel grows and thrives everyday!!!

    It looks like there’s very little for a dramatic classic in the market these days, if this is a comprehensive representation. From my own shopping experience, such as it has been, that’s what I have noticed over the past few years. Unless you want to bare your midriff, or go with a super short dress, or wear the quintessential sundress everywhere (I wish that was my life), it appears that there’s a lot of slouchiness, sloppiness and boxiness in the market today (which would look amazing on other body types), that really can’t fulfill the needs of any kind of classic. People will have to do the best they can unless they can make something for themselves or get something made for themselves.

    I think this is a a wonderful video! I always thought I was a Dramatic Classic but I did an online typing and I am a Theatrical Romantic. I will have to say I really agree with that assessment. I would love for you to do a video on that archetype. I’m very new to this and would love your perspective on the Theatrical Romantic. Thank you for your insight. It’s starting to make sense!

    Hi Rita,
    I had contact with you a few times via you tube I was convinced that I was an FN, although I do not have the height, then I thought FG but I do not feel at home in the Gamine Patterns colors, but in the tighter models, After a long search I saw a picture of a Gamine with a DC and I understood why I had felt like an FN my mother and sister are both Gamine and that made me feel that I had very broad shoulders while in reality I am very even with slightly wider shoulders (and a bosom too) :) but now I know, and it is nice to get the best out of yourself beautiful gr Sigrid thanks again

    I think your video is spot on but just to add some extra info, I once met Adenorah (the girl on the thumbnail) and I believe she is an FN, although she has a classic essence due to the way she dresses. Just thought it might be interesting to know to see how DC looks can look on a FN body :)

    I just feel terrible in sweatpants, but the ones you suggested might work. (However I just bought fabric to make a 1940s lounge dress instead. I thought so hard about what lounge wear I would feel comfortable in)

    • @StyleThoughtsbyRita
      @StyleThoughtsbyRita  Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah I can see that even these fancy ones might not work! Good point!
      I do think it's individual, and there are quite a few DCs that have an aesthetic where sweatpants just don't fit in. At the same time, I think its worth exploring a bit!
      The 40s lounge dress sounds awesome!

    I'm 5'8" with thin and long bones but always test as classic and romantic for flesh and facial features. So I figured I must be a dramatic classic despite my height and lines. I certainly need the tailored and put-together look you talked about, but I would feel silly and juvenile in these short dresses and dainty straps. So I better keep looking--I might not be a DC. I feel like I relate to the moderate sharpness and overall balanced look of DC but my vertical line is a big too long. I'm about 5'7.5" and people usually think I'm taller than I am (5'9" usually, when I tell people I'm not even 5'8" they're usually surprised, but idk if that's just people not knowing what that height looks like lol). Idk if I might be this type or maybe SD. When I took the test I got DC.. I'm definitely curvy but I don't feel curve dominant. So confused!!

I keep getting so many mixed answers by people from r/Kibbe and the Discord; at this point, I'm really unsure and I want to make sure I'm buying the right dress for my birthday. Any recommendations is much helpful, thank you.

    • @StyleThoughtsbyRita
      @StyleThoughtsbyRita  Před 3 lety +3

      I would recommend
      (A) start with the vertical, do you have vertical in the kibbe system or not
      (B) do you have width to accommodate or not
      (C) do you have curve to accommodate
      Those are helpful for choosing a dress even if you don't know your type!!!
      I'm going to offer my free typing services in some week in May so stay tuned 🌸

    • @StyleThoughtsbyRita
      @StyleThoughtsbyRita  Před 3 lety +2

      @@nanihime if you're 5'5 and above you automatically have vertical which means that you want to find a dress that has some sort of visual length, the design doesn't break up your visual length too much
      You could also have "vertical" if you're shorter than 5'5", but it's less important for a dress imo
