    I like your choices for DC... you're correct to always emphasize on BALANCE and NOT TO STAND OUT. That's really the CLASSIC style... What makes us stand out is the QUALITY of fabric, cut, silouette. Ty for some fun pieces. I'll take note of all these. 😘😍

      Hmm I get classic on my kibble quizzes natural on Kitchener. It's like I don't really like emphasizing my shoulders tho. I don't want them to look wider. I guess I prefer to look more narrow at the top an wider at the bottom but I guess that's working against my Proportions. My hips are close in proportion to my shoulders I guess hips 39in
      Shoulders 32in
      Chest 34in
      Moderate. Maybe I should play with it and see if it looks like it works. Thanks for the insight

    Currently exploring DC and these are really interesting options. I have definitely noticed that I look more balanced when I wear shirts untucked or long to the top of my hips so it’s cool to hear that reiterated lol
    And shout out to the dungarees 💕

    Thank you for this helpful video. I take all systems with a large pinch of salt, but the DC type really resonates with me in a way that no other description ever has. Thank you for pointing out that DC doesn't have to mean tall: I'm technically slightly below average height, but with proportionally long legs, and most of the other traits of DC.

    Would love to see a video with your ideas about creating balance or contrast through the use of clothing shapes, textures, color, etc. Through the use of clothing, layers, accessories, etc. I hear a lot about contrasting pieces, like something tight with something oversize, but I don't think that applies to everybody. Your insights are always so powerful!

    I would love to see a video for makeup for Dramatic Classics - especially something feminine. I feel the majority of makeup looks recommended for DCs are really intense and the focus is on heavily contoured and dark lipstick looks. It would be nice to see something lighter - emphasis on blush and lighter lip shades. Can a DC even do that successfully?

    Yours is the best explanation for DC I’ve heard, it is neither frame or curve dominant but a blend of both and therefore mostly in the middle, moderate. Thanks!

    Thanks for this lovely video. I really like the looks and your suggestions. I think I would wear and feel great in all the outfits you showed. And I really appreciate DC content, since it is hard to find.
    The balance thing you talked about is really key. Whenever I war wearing a bold colour but everything else was under the radar I felt like I am that bold peace and the rest of the outfit was kind of invisible.

  • @karla7452
    @karla7452 Před 2 lety +6

    I'd love to learn more about that aspect of "creating balance". What makes up balance, especially in non-plain ensembles?
    I feel this is the trickiest aspect about the Classics, and would find it extremly helpful if you went into detail with practical tips in a video some day. I quickly understood the visual concept of the DC, and could easily classify my self in the Kibbe system. But as much as I would love to have a closet full of matching sets and head-to-toe styles and will try to approach shopping more like this in the future, I do currently have tons of seperate tops and bottoms that I individually like. As a Bright Winter, colours and patterns also go for strong contrasts. They are great for the dramatic/right up persona, but outfits almost inevitably cut my body into halves.
    I am starting to explore some strategies, like putting quirky colours on the "inside", and frame it with a long black jacket, or repeating colours in shoes and around the top. But most days i still end up feeling that something is disturbing about the clothing ensembles.

    The clothing chosen already resembles mine. I have been going back and forth with SN and DC. I know you said not to use the videos for typing but I think the clothes we think look good on us does show a certain pattern? I'm also a larger gal (wide frame and small head) and I initially thought wearing looser, less form clothing would suit me. Many of my clothes are not exactly fitted but have structure to them👍

    I have a slightly DC body (with only 1-2 A/B) and a strongly yin SC face. I typically use the entire classic scale to dress myself because the DC lines alone are too harsh for me when it comes to trying to exaggerate the "angularity in my shoulders and face"... because I don't have much, haha. But I'm finding classic to be a bit difficult to dress for hot weather. All of the examples I typically see are more fall appropriate.

    • @human_no847
      @human_no847 Před rokem +1

      Similar body/face combo as you. In the hot weather I dress like the outfits shown in this video at around 9:05, if it's too hot for jeans then loose trousers/culottes in a solid colour are good also :)

    1.75m and a dramatic classic 🙋🏻‍♀️ I like the first outfits. But I have to say I don’t like flare jeans. Maybe I will try some on and reconsider 🤔

    • @StyleThoughtsbyRita
      @StyleThoughtsbyRita  Před 2 lety +6

      at 1.75 you technically have "vertical" (although completely support you classifying yourself as DC) so cropped flare jeans work against your lines -- you can achieve the same effect by just choosing a longer length straight cut that flows over your leg and is not too soft nor too stiff

    • @claudiah8905
      @claudiah8905 Před 2 lety +3

      @@StyleThoughtsbyRita Thank you! It was confusing with my height. I have two friends and we are all 1.75m but they are a natural and a flamboyant natural 😂 I am very moderat. I always stick with skinny Jeans as they don’t add bulkyness.

    • @StyleThoughtsbyRita
      @StyleThoughtsbyRita  Před 2 lety +5

      Skinny jeans are a great option! If you want to work with the idea of "balance" I would recommend balancing skinny jeans with something sleek and fitted on top as well, thus creating harmony between both halves of the body in terms of texture and shape

    • @fb2500
      @fb2500 Před 2 lety +2

    Not certain what I am... I'm exploring the classics right now. I'm 5'2". Facebook friends like my photos with jackets... I forgot about all the jackets I wore 30 years ago. (I'm 53) Vests look right on me. V-neck, open necks look best on me. Prints look best on me on the bottom instead of my top. I can wear more feminine looking blouses, like those with jabots and ruffles. I have two spirits inside my body and brain. I DESIRE to dress feminine. All my life, I've been told I'm "So pretty"... My BODY seems to need more STRUCTURE... The jackets with notched lapels do that, as do vests. My thighs are muscular. Sometimes I wear leggings well and I can also wear culottes well and jeans well. Cotton lightweight printed bottoms don't always hang well on my body.
    Thank you for this video!! Please make more dramatic classic videos!!

    Love this. I'm dramatic. Where I struggle though is I have that rectangle body shape so smaller breasts and very little curve..I have some but not much. I struggle to combine my kibbe, left down spicy next door and my rectangle as I know I need to break it up with ruffles and asymmetrical lines. Would love videos including body shapes..if that makes sense

    I think I am a DC, and watching all the inspo was helpful for me, but is it necessary to wear trousers/ pants that end a few centimetres above the ankles? I feel super uncomfortable, and I feel like it does not suit me at all. I prefer trousers to go all the way down. But in all the examples, they unfortunately don't. Was that by accident, or does this suit a DC more? And can I make skinny jeans look good on my body type as well?
