Gayatri Asokan is a playback singer who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. Apart from singing, she also composes music for albums and jingles. She is well trained in Bhajans and Hindustani and ghazals. Gayathri was first trained in Carnatic music at Trichur. Later she started training in Hindustani music which she is continuing. Gayatri is a person who is influenced by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and she is an active member of the Art of Living foundation.

With respect to this uploaded Program's vocal: Still Practice required....... As she's leaving breath fast afer every alaap & also ''uff uff, uss uss,,, haa, haa.. breath releasing noice is coming' it's not good in any Classical Vocal or any music singing!!!!. NO DOUBT HER'S VOICE IS SO MELODIUS, AND REALLY WILL PICKUP IN HINDUSTANI CLASSICAL, HOPE SO!!!!

Classical singing requires a different form and outlook on raag. She confuses the catchy filmy/ ghazal approach to lyrics with raagdaari. Please stop embarrassing yourself.
