Keldeo is based on a Kelpie, also known as a water horse. They're spirits that haunt rivers and streams, luring humans to their deaths by drowning. If anything Keldeo also could have been part ghost type.
@@alexbeamer9636 Yes! First time I saw that movie I watched it with my dad. He commented how weird it was that Keldeo shot water from his hooves. 😂 I didn't know what he was based on until I looked it up since I thought it was a little weird too.
yeah, so obviously water is bound to make up the majority of all types since there's tons of fish, aquatic birds & mammals, amphibians, semi-aquatic reptiles etc. that can be turned into water type mons. even a lot various aquatic dinosaurs and mythical creatures can be made into water types
This is actually the main reason for it. Game producers have been quoted saying it’s because majority of animal life on earth is in the oceans. I think it’s also neat that about 15% of all Pokémon are water types while 15% of all earths biomass is in the oceans
One thing I think is super underutilized is underwater routes. Even the tunnel in bw2 was a decent example of how beautiful that could be, seeing everything beneath the surface. Imagine swimming amongst the delicate tropical fish of a coral reef, going beneath the iceberg in an arctic ocean, or discovering buried treasure lost to the sea’s current. New Pokémon Snap is a perfect example of why this concept fascinates me.

Perhaps not the entire game, but the idea of a region with a city built at the literal bottom of the ocean sounds like it could be awesome with free roam.
