    The toner is going to lift your base if you use it with a 30% developer and also that wella toner is known to lift up your base color and bump it up that’s why it may come off warm and you want to use the blue shampoo, just letting you know incase and I’m licensed so i’d figured I’d share that but you it looks great girl! 🤍

    I think you did a lovely job! The only thing I would say, is I would be careful with the developer you use on your toner, using 30 volume will lift your natural hair, which will bring up warm tones so try using a 10 vol or less as it will deposit and not lift x

    • @ttime9395
      @ttime9395 Před 3 lety +4

      Yeah I thought the same thing! My son is a hairdresser so I’ve kind of learned with him along the way, I would say no more than 10 vol with a toner as it will deposit instead of lift which is maybe why you thought it was a bit bright and also will damage the hair especially 30 vol but I must admit I freakin LOVE it!!!!! You so suit the blonde😍😍well done a lot of hairdressers wouldn’t do as good a job👏👏

    • @lexdom
      @lexdom Před 3 lety +2

      Is the 30 volume developer okay for the bleaching process? I’m gonna do this touch up to my balayage hair and my roots are a dark blonde light brown colour so I’m not sure if 30 is gonna be too much for it.

    • @madstarules
      @madstarules Před 3 lety

      Lexi L 20-30 vol should be fine as long as it’s not previously lightened but as i haven’t seen your hair I can’t say for sure. If using 20 vol make sure you saturate well. I do generally think lightening is best left to the professionals unless your really confidant. Good luck

      @@madstarules my hair’s super long and I went from black box dye to basically what she has in this video except lighter. So it’s been lightenedddddd. • @ryanmalave2248
    @ryanmalave2248 Před 3 lety +30

    Hi! Your technique was okay for going lighter pretty much all over the ends and keeping a “rootier” look. If you instead want to just refresh your highlights and keep the blonde to brunette ratio, just use the comb to separate the strands, and right before you apply the lightener just use the tail end of your comb to flick out any of the strands that are completely brown! Then just blend the lightener down to wherever the brown meets the blonde on each strand! Voila!
    Ps. Not that your hair doesn’t look nice but putting that wells color over with a 30 essentially will lighten all your hair. Get a Demi permanent with no more than a 10 vol and you’re set. Happy holidays!

    I do my hair at home too... I do only half of my hair at a time. So if I'm doing a partial highlight I can take my time. I use a balayage board with foil on it and really weave out fine and very thin sections at a time and saturate it well with bleach making sure the bleach doesn't get too thick at the roots to prevent bleeds. This way the bleach lifts past the orange stage and it's so much easier to tone afterwards. I use 2 different toners... or one toner and a purple conditioner to preserve the health of my hair. I use a level 7 ashy toner (strong blue, silver, grey type of color) with a weak developer to blend out the stitch marks and ease the transition as my hair grows out and then a platinum toner for the ends or I just mix Artic Fox Girls Night Out with some conditioner for my ends to keep them nice and healthy.

    Hi, you can just move the comb farther down the section of hair and then separate the sections closer to the head instead of pulling on your hair and separating it on the side of the comb farthest from your head. You can also change the volume of your developer to 10 volume for the ends instead of the same bleach strength. Kinder to the hair that has already been bleached.

And then I realize how much more work I have to do and how much quicker I need to move to finish the whole head! It's a little mini panic attack I get every single time.

    Go to the store and get a Demi permanent color 7a and put it just at your roots and apply it a tear drop formation meaning higher in the front of your head and lower in the back that all get rid of the grassiness at the top and blend it ever more

      @@DeanndraNunnery you can literally just tap it on the hairline to keep your money piece and then drag it down further as you get towards the crown and blend with a wide tooth comb! You can even put conditioner on your ends as a barrier to give you a good blending agent to blend the color in to! I definitely suggest that! I am going to do some research on toners and dyes to get the orange out. I’ll definitely make a video of my process. My roots are still pretty orange! 😏❤️❤️ I do want to try some sort of dye tho!!

  • @shockalockabocka
    @shockalockabocka Před 3 lety +5

    You’re bleaching/highlighting process is good, but the toners you use will lighten your natural hair color and make everything look red/warm once the ash washes out. If you use demi permanent color to tone with low volume developer it will tone and ash off you’re result without affecting you’re natural hair color.

    • @lindsaysmith4486
      @lindsaysmith4486 Před 2 lety

      I've Tried using the Wella Demi permanent line to tone my hair it doesn’t do anything for me (unless I want my hair darker). it doesn’t help remove warm tones from blonde to keep them blonde..I can only use it if I want to go from blonde to brown.

      Deanndra Nunnery great, I look forward. So I went to Sally's to get the toner and the worker said my hair wasn't light enough for it to work.. SOoooo I went to Walmart and bought some Light Ash Blonde dye from Colorsilk for about $4 and put it on the gold parts. I did a shadow root with a Medium Ash Brown also from Colorsilk. Left it on for about 15 mins and it was enough to tone down the gold. Looks really good now. Great for under $10.
