    These are highlights not baliyage as the saturation is even on each strand, compared to the gradient look a baliyage has. Looks amazing regardless

    Looks great however this isn't baliyage, it's highlights because you used foils and weaved. Either way it looks great

    I would also have liked to see what exactly you did when you had to pull some of the foils prior to the rest of them being ready. I struggle with that since I foil so slowly. I usually pull the ones that are done and take a paper towel and get most of the bleach off, but it’s not enough. Did you wash them or what? Also, I can’t believe you got that lift with a level 10?? I tried a 20 and was still yellow after an hour but I’m a level 5 that uses Clairol Professional in a 7A for gray root coverage and to brighten my base. I use BlondeMe bleach and developer and have to hope it’s authentic, ha! Thanks, I’m self taught via youtube so any tips are appreciated.

      Same as me but I used 30 vol. In fact I thought my bleach and developer was maybe old as it was nearly two years old??/ so I bought new and it still just doesn't seem to be lifting?????? What ended up happening with yours? I also thought the same - 10 vol???

    The result is really good
    I have 2 questions please:
    Do you have white hair at the root?
    If so, how do you cover them at the root? Thank you in advance for your answer.

    Can you make a video the next time you bring up your blonde and how you deal with bleaching over the part that you previously colored with the root smudge and how you bleach the Virgin grown out hair. I’m wondering if you have to bleach them with different developers because the Virgin hairs probably need a stronger developer. And I am wondering how you do your process step by step.

      Hey Joanna, I’ll definitely add more in about over lapping in my next video. I just wanted to confirm the dark hair I am colour/ freshening up At my roots is virgin hair. Virgin non coloured hair is the easiest hair to lift and with the correct application depending on how dark your hair is 3% or 6% should be adequate for lifting xx

    Hi Steph, love your videos. I followed one of your previous diy balayage tutorials and I’m having a bit of a mare with toning the roots of the highlights, i used shades eq 6n but they are brassy/yellow and shine through the toner in a yellow orangey way. My natural hair is a level 5 - do you think I should used 5n ti cover the tops of the highlights? The lengths were toned with 9p and 9nb and look great. Thanks so much 💗

    • @StephBarronLadylux
      @StephBarronLadylux  Před rokem +6

      Hey Alexandra, thank you for your message. You are exactly right, you always have to match the root shade to your natural colour. As my hair is a natural shade 6 I chose 6NA/6NB if your hair is a shade 5 you would need to drop the root shade to a 5N to make it blend. It also might be worth adding in some more ash tones to kill the orange/brass tone you are describing. This could be adding 5N and 5NA as it is blue based and that is what counteracts the orange/Brass tones. I hope this helps xx

    Hi, thank you for the video, hair looks absolutely beautiful. I am going to give it a go since I am tired of been full blonde and would like to mix it up and add some dimension. I can’t find 6NA anywhere, which one would you recommend as substitutions? Thank you.

      I think it's the osmo one, they do 2 purple shampoos. I bought the super silver one along with the mask. I was a bit hesitant that it would make my hair too ashy, it doesn't. Great shampoo, I like the mask but it's not moisturising enough for my hair so I use my regular conditioner after. I do recommend both products. Amazon tend to have the best deals. Hope this helps x

    Why do you double process the ends…
    Your hair seems pretty fine, I can’t imagine it’s got enough cuticle to protect it after the process

    How can you lighten your hair with 10vol. Is that possible on a root like that cuz mine is also so dark and I have been doing it always with 20 vol .

    • @StephBarronLadylux
      @StephBarronLadylux  Před 7 měsíci +2

      If you take a very thin section and saturate the bleach on the hair it penetrates through your hair lifting with a lower vol developer xx

  • @blondiewendy
    @blondiewendy Před rokem +1

    Why not use a mirror for the back? It’s much easier and keeps sections clean.

    • @StephBarronLadylux

      I probably could but I’ve done it so many times this way and it’s always worked out. Setting up an extra mirror is too much for lazy me 😂

    My hair i just not "coming up bright" I don't understand it. I thought it was because maybe bleach and developer was old, I got new but still the same. I used 30 vol so now the next day I can see it just still isn't light enough - I came across your video but am surprisd you are only using 10 vol???
