  • The fabulous people at Masterton Miniature Train Society are getting the A-74 Atlantic locomotive ready for another run around Queen Elizabeth Park. I’m hoping to get trained on that once I’ve mastered the diesel.

    I honestly never even knew we had Atlantics here in South Africa, but this certainly is a beautiful model! The smoke looks quite interesting too!

    Nice Atlantic! It almost looks like if the NZR had commissioned a class of 4-4-2s with 60 inch drivers.

    Thats a nice engine, One question though. Why is ths smoke yellow?

      The smoke was weird colors because that’s what the actual smoke does on engines when you add fresh coal and it is setting still or moving slowly owning and running a coal burner myself my engine will do the exact same thing. It’s just the nature of a coal burning steamer

      @@ComerProductions193 could also be the sulpher/ methane content being released from the coal as well.
