    Beautiful chassis and awesome work thus far! With bare metal behind the smooth firewall plate, aren't you worried about future rust between the two sheets of metal? I would think some kind of a weld-through primer would help with that.

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  Před 2 lety +1

      Weld through primer is not too fun to work with and leads to less than ideal welds. The two firewalls will be sealed up before it goes to paint and there won't really be a chance of moisture getting in there when it's all finalized

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  Před 2 lety +1

      It really depends on the project and the customer. Sometimes it's "I want this done a specific way" and it's billed out by the time it takes to get that project done, other times it's "I have this budget, do what you can to make the car as cool/fast as possible!"

    I am considering the same roadster chassis for my cutlass. Was there anyway to have made this work without having to do the entire tunnel? I knew I would have cut the trans tunnel for the 6l80 but didn’t anticipate having to do the entire tunnel all the way back..

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  Před 2 lety

      It really just depends on the engine/transmission set up you're using. We had to cut ours because the LSX set up sits differently than the stock big block that was in the Chevelle. If we were using the stock block, the transmission would have sat in a way where we wouldn't have had to chop as much if any of the floor out. I'm sure the guys over at Roadstershop would be able to answer all those questions if you're really concerned about it. They're awesome about making sure you get what you need!

    Если честно то две панели не обработали даже грунтом, а уже сварили. Может я ошибаюсь, но на следующий год внутреняя панель заржавеет.

    Love the Roadster Shop stuff, but there's no way that carving out those huge logo letters in the chassis didn't weaken it in that area... Bad idea (@1:04).

    The owner must feel great shame and dishonor not putting a manual trans in there. While he was at it he should have put in an IRS as well.

      The IRS option was an extra $10k for the next step up in their chassis line I think. But we have some transmission updates coming up. He changed his mind yet again!

    Too much destruction of the original everything. The body sits too low on that chassis. The solution isn’t chopping the **** out of the body to make it fit. A 70 Chevelle is as iconic as a 57 Chevy. Too much!

    Who the hell buys a Chevelle then pays to put an automatic transmission in it? Way to ruin a beautiful classic car!
