- Roguelike fan? A recent fav of mine: • A Top Rated RPG Just B... An easy one to miss, so definitely worth a look!
Drill Core is an upcoming indie game in the (what I'll call) "Dig and Defend" genre - half mining half base defense roguelikes. I spent an hour checking out the early preview thanks to a key provided to me by the developer to kick off this month's Indie Tryouts!

It's a TinyBuild game, which seem to have a lot of bangers.
INDIE TRYOUTS
At the end of each month I do a special stream dedicated to my love of interesting indie games! I kick off with a game I want to try and then spend an hour with games my viewers choose for me!

Gonna comment and like on all these off-meta videos. Keep doing what you enjoy dude, shouldn't be punished for doing what you find fun.
PoV: you find an Adeptus Mechanicus training sim.
leaving my comment here so that the YT algorythm kicks into gear
"It lasers alcohol right into their veins" ahhahahaha. Super cool looking game. Definitely my type
I feel like digging a hole for some reason
it's giving Dome Keeper vibes
Yeah definitely, I'm wondering where this blend began 🤔
Steam World Dig is similar and came out in 2013
It does look quite cool.
Remind me of Motherload.
Ah that's one of the flash era ones I was trying to remember thanks!
What's the earliest game you can remember playing like this - the mine & defend split gameplay style? I definitely remember some from the flash-game era but I'm wondering where it began. Obvious influences from a mixture of digdug & space invaders (and some other game about shooting rocks coming to crash into your base I can't remember the name of), but Im curious on the origins of the combination.
Missile Command!
Commenting for algorithm
Think the game was called Horde. Not really digging but similar to the Dungeons game flow, just mid 90s version
sorry to ask it here, in Ziggy current Rimworld playthrou what is the map seed and cordinates for the "island" base he is currently on ?
anyone know ?
or anyone know similar "island" map seeds ?
That is a landform added by the mod "Geological Landforms" which has a feature to find them on any map. I suggest also using "Biome Transitions" and "Map Preview" for cool maps in Rimworld! Here's the modlist for that run: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3249601181
@@ZiggyDGaming cool thank you
I feel confused, I felt like you struggled through that whole level yet you still finished the level, while I have tried twice and failed both times yet I did not see you do anything that was like oh that was cool, I wish I did that, nope none of that. OK, I will admit I have never built the bar or drone collector, but still. I guess I can just try a third or 4th time and see if I can finish planet one for the first time.
Hard to say the main difference without seeing your gameplay, could be down to worker management? Building lots of miners and keeping them capped out seems pretty important unless you lean on drones and other abilities a lot.
@@ZiggyDGaming Maybe, but I didn't expect you to fix my gameplay :) Though I tried to play again and the game basically told me no, so I guess no more demo for me :( If you all get a chance try it and have fun :)
I got too annoyed by the worm thing that I had to stop playing this. Absolutely stupid mechanic
