Not to sound like an idiot but first time owning a fabia, not so much to do with changing the battery but more jump starting with jump leads or a pack. Do I need to remove the battery fuse board before connecting the leads?

Stupid question.
Once I have removed the negative terminal, is it safe to touch the positive with my hand. I ask because I am trying to loosen the nuts of the positive terminal but I need to use my hand for the final twist of the nuts so they don't fall off and get lost.
