Nice EDC light! One of my favs.
RovyVon A8 is my favourite keychain flashlight😀
Shhhhh.... there's a beast in that moat...ya hear it?. 😛
Nice review, I think this a great little torch. Unfortunately the button has fallen of mine and I have no idea where or when it came out of the torch. As a modder any ideas on how I might go about fixing this? The torch is still perfect, apart from no button :(
Did yours have a plastic or metal button?
@@TorchHacker thanks for the reply! Metal button.
@@Rhubarb2 Bezel outside diameter 9.20mm, Button diameter 6.29mm. The metal bezel might have been welded to the plastic.
A cheap hack would be to cut a small bit of plastic, put that in the hole, and wrap it with some polyimide or electrical tape. I did that with a shaver for a year where the silicone cover broke before buying a replacement part from Wahl.
Would RovyVon replace it under warranty? You'd need a lot of force to rip the bezel off (i have been trying with my fingernails). It could be a welding defect...
@@TorchHacker Thanks again! Tape hack idea is a good one, will at least make it usable one. It would be well outside the warranty period but I reach out to RovyVon all the same and see what they can do, maybe they can supply a spare part. Cheers!
Not even available on Amazon right now
The 5000K and 6500K versions are showing up as "in stock" on amzn.to/41JozWn
I hate flashlights with USB-C charging ports. How long do you think those rubber/plastic USB-C covers will last from all that opening and closing for charging it?
I also hate magnetic charging and proprietary cells.
I've lost the cover after a month with another similar torch. I like hidden USB-C.
@@TorchHacker The best choice is no charging ports and the use of unprotected cells.
If you are a flashlight enthusiast, you would buy an Xtar charger to charge your flashlight cells.
Xtar chargers are the best: they invented the 0V activation feature and the current CVSA for Ni-MH cells.
@@AlcoveShadow I'm currently using an XTAR VC8S. I don't mind small keychain flashlights with built-in batteries. But I agree. I prefer high performing cells and larger flashlights.
@@TorchHacker I agree with you on the keychain flashlights and their built-in batteries, but the Lumintop Frog is a good keychain flashlight with a removable battery.
@@AlcoveShadow I've got a brass Lumintop Frog 😁
This flashlight it a piece of junk!
The quality seems pretty good. I try to avoid spending 20 hours reviewing junk. 🥵
