I was hoping you would tackle this one. Incredible play - it took me a significant number of attempts to crack 2k. I'm #10 on the leaderboard with 3,059. I can see as high as #5, who has a rather insane score of 4,654!
incredible! I think I've got a solid plan if I do this one again, but I want to try all the challenges at least once first, and then maybe have a stream day or two where I punch a couple into the top 10. 3059 is a lofty goal, but maybe I'll have you beat soon enough :)
I feel like even 3k is impossible without more tunnels and bridges being offered than what retro got.
4654! is a damn impressive score if i ever heard of one, now that makes me wonder how high the score of #1 is.
@@VortexMagus Retro didn't take a bridge when he should have. he could have let the dark blue cut through the top mountain freeing up the middle. But he let it build too much and there were yellow and blue houses all over the middle top
My best is 2300 and it’s my high score on any map lol
After you did some adjustments, right at 26:51 a cream car parked in a green garage for a hot second before heading back out to it's own house...gotta love this game lol great vid!

After this weeks weekly challenge I feel trained to give this one a shot!
The red houses on the right side used 2 bridges, if you flipped their driveways to face NE you could have combined them and reclaimed a bridge to use for something else.

WOW! Congrats on the score! Getting far in this map is already a feat, but getting far without tunnels is something else!
I know I'm a broken record, but I hate this map for a single reason: "A motorway can't go over mountains". The way every problem this map throws at you could be solved with a motorway and yet _you can't use them_ because there are like 39273 mountain squares blocking the path... It truly breaks me.

A whole bridge for 1 red node on the right corner instead of fixing all the dark blue issues and center orange nodes
Yep, Red on this map needs every help it can get because of how few houses are available! The longer into the game you go, the more strict you have to be with getting every last drop out of the populations. Low-house populations mean that missing even one is a high-percentage drop in your throughput :)

Traffic lights are trash they slow your cars down.
They are a necessary evil, in some cases! Especially at heavy intersections with the same colour of cars, you need to have that back and forth to get cars where they need to go in time.

I'm not sure, but I think the spawns are the same for the standard and the challenge version of this map

The key is to pause and put in roads through the mountains immediately. Could have achieved a higher score with that move.
