    Do you have an idea what you want from the piece of wood before you start? I notice the two knots as the video progressed but they don`t appear to have spoiled your finished piece. I`ve not been carving long, and have learn`t, not to bother too much if I make a blunder, and either carry on or start another piece, your thoughts would be appreciated, really good videos, mask included.

      Yes, I have the most time an idea what I want to carve. Mostly I use a model or an image to orient myself.
      Edit: OH NO... I think I have tranlated it wrong. I think you mean the Knots in the wood... SORRY...
      I try to avoid the knots when possible. If the knot is still in the wood, I trying to position the knot on a unimportant area.
      The position is applied using a circle and marked with dots.
      This dots serve as a guide and are marked with pencil. They usually represent anatomical positions.
      Thank you :)

    Do you use clay models, or drawings?

    • @WieselRobot
      @WieselRobot  Před 5 lety

      Both. For complicated carving I need a clay model. For simple carvings, drawings are enough.

    Where do you get your wood from?

      I bought it at a timber trade or a sawmill close to me.

    Verwendest du Lindenholz

    • @WieselRobot

      Meistens oder in diesem Fall verwende ich Zirbe. Manchmal verwende ich aber Lindenholz. Ganz besonders bei kleineren Figuren.
