Networking for live audio
More and more audio equipment runs on networks originally meant for computers, soon almost everything will be networked. But we’re audio people not computer people, so how do we get to grips with this new requirement of our jobs?
You just need to know the basics to get something like a Dante network up and running, so in this video you’ll learn just that, the basics of networking for audio.
You’ll get a bit of background about how this stuff works before diving into the practical side of assigning IP addresses and subnet masks.
The aim of this video is not to make you a networking god, it’s to enlighten you a little around how these things work so that you understand what’s going on under the hood.
Great description of a subnet mask!
Glad you liked it! Everything always describes them like house addresses but I like phone numbers more 😁
