      I don't have the information about the exact period. Still, as a standard, it should be in your account for a reasonable period because you cannot just inflate your account just for the purpose of the visa. If the money is available, it should be in your account for a considerable period. All this will be verified by the immigration directorate, so I advise following the rule and doing it as honestly as possible. Good luck. Regards Nuel

    Thank you for your video, very informative. If I am using my account for proof of funds how long does the money have to be in my account? And how many months statement of account do they need? Does the inflow matter or must it be in a fixed deposit account?

    • @nuelonyedikaokpala
      @nuelonyedikaokpala  Před rokem

      Well, you need an original bank certificate/bank statement for the past 6 months. The money is expected to be in your account for a considerable period. The nature and features of the account must not suggest that you inflated your account just for this purpose, and it must be in a type of account that is accessible to you. Fixed deposits may not be accessible to you when required. Regards Nuel

      It has to be at least 15 190 euros as of the last time I checked; this is proof of funds for a temporary authorisation application for STUDY purposes. If you are using a local currency, be mindful of FOREX fluctuations

      As stated in the video, it is okay to have a statement of account when applying for the authorisation to stay in Luxembourg, which is the first application you must make before the visa is granted afterwards. Now, when you arrive in Luxembourg, you should open a European bank account because this will facilitate the procedure when you apply for your residence permit and during the renewal of your resident permit while resident in Luxembourg. I hope that answers your questions for you. Kind regards, Nuel.

Thank you 🙏

    • @nuelonyedikaokpala

      Thank you for your kind words. You have to use your own account or your parent's account [ I did not see where they mentioned uncles, so I cannot comment on that]. Suppose you have to use your parent account. In that case, you must show that they sent that monthly amount into your account for a considerable amount of time, and it should be in a European account, but if you are using your own account, it can be n your local currency equivalent. So you have to decide. Please click on the link below this video for more info. Regards Nuel

    Thanks for your insightful videos. Please I would like to know.. concerning having a sponsor for proof of funds who is residing in Luxembourg, do I have to send my documents via courier or I can just send it by mail since the person has been given power of attorney and would be handling the ATS application process for me. Also, am I to authenticate my passport? I saw this on the web but I’d like to confirm this please. Is there need to provide proof of relationship with the sponsor in this case?

    • @nuelonyedikaokpala
      @nuelonyedikaokpala  Před 29 dny

      If you have someone with power of attorney for your application in Luxembourg, then you have authorised the person to take control of your application so it is clear, I don't understand your question about that. I made a current video regarding proof of funds, so you may need to watch it; simple copies may be enough for passport copies. Just so you know, you must add copies of your passport/travel documents in their ENTIRETY. Other documents should be either original or certified true copies

    Can the wife sponsor her husband's visa application in Luxembourg? And, for the proof of funds, does a student need to provide the source of the funds also? I will be grateful if you could share any info regarding this topic if you know!

      The procedure for the application of temporary authorisation to stay is clearly explained on the official website of the ministry, and I will advise you to visit the website via the link below and read it very clearly. Here are some excerpts from the website:
      [ proof of sufficient resources to cover for living expenses and return-travel costs. The monthly resources must amount to at least 80 % of the current social inclusion income. The following may be used as proof:
      the original document of the certificate of scholarship or student loan stating the amount and its duration;
      an original bank certificate and a bank statement for the past 6 months:
      attesting that the student has enough financial resources on his/her own account; or
      in case the student is supported by the parents: attesting that the student's parents have enough financial resources and that they are financially solvent and capable to cover subsistence costs, medical and study cost for at least one year (12 months) as well as return travel costs;
      the original financial statement of support for the intention of the Luxembourg State and the student, signed by a sponsor of Luxembourgish nationality or staying legally in Luxembourg, and regarding subsistence costs, medical and study costs for at least 1 academic school year as well as return travel costs, established in the correct legal form (see also the section 'Forms / Online services' at the bottom of the page;
      Material advantages granted to the student (such as free accommodation) or the remuneration from a work contract (maximum 15 hours per week), are also taken into account. SOURCE - guichet.public.lu/en/entreprises/ressources-humaines/recrutement/ressortissant-pays-tiers/etudiant.html]

      Hi, it has to be either in your account or your parent, but if using your parents' account, there are conditions attached to it.
      From the information available to me based on my research and direct inquiry, I made it from the appropriate authority; the account has to be in your account or from your parent. However, from a personal point of view ( unofficial), if your dad had passed on, you can try to show the evidence of that and indicate that the money is genuinely from him somehow. You may get a letter from a family member playing your dad's role in the family, but you should provide what is verifiable and then see what happens ( my personal opinion).
      Here are excerpts from their official website concerning funding, and you can read more via the link below:

      Using that may be a bit complicated as you need to prove that he has been sending you money prior. If your parents have that money to support you, it makes sense that the money can also be in your account. After all, it is meant for you to use for your study. That is why it is called the proof of funds. So I suggest you use your own account. NOTE: In all that you do, make sure you follow what the law says and do it genuinely. All the best.

      I mention the total amount you need in the video. Remember that these requirements are revised from time to time, so always check with the appropriate authority for the latest changes. But for now, you need to have that total amount stated, and it is one of the most critical pieces of evidence you need to provide during the application for authorisation to stay in Luxembourg. There are other things that may be considered in the calculation, and in the video, I mentioned them, but I will advise having the total amount (15, 190 EURO at least as of today). Of course, the funds must be transferred before some months. The VO certainly knows that you transferred the money for merely proof of your financial position and exactly knows that this money won't be there in your account after the interview. They do know this especially if you have no transaction history and bring thousands of dollars some days before the interview. So, my advice for you is to use the money to create a transaction history in your account first and then use it as proof.

My advice is DO NOT inflate your account for this purpose; you MUST build your account genuinely for this purpose. @@buteragrace6052 If you are applying for temporary authorisation to stay as a student, you will have to send all your applications to the Immigration Directorate Luxembourg. I have made a video about this. Also, during the time of visa D application, after your temporary authorisation to stay is approved, they will send you a letter on what to do next. Usually, they use Belgium or the Netherlands embassy. Kind regards Nuel

      Please watch the video carefully, I explained it in detail in the video. It has to be in your account or you parent (eg father) but if you are using your father's account you must meet the condition for that too , please watch the video carefully if you dont meet that specific requirements it may not be accepted. This is one of the most important document when applying for the temporary authorisation to stay. Regards, Nuel
