- I thought I was making an informed decision but I kinda regret buying a 182/214 cam for my 1996 Dodge Ram 3500 with a 12 Valve Cummins and compound turbos. It could just be a bad combo with my torque convertor, your mileage may vary. PLEASE LIKE AND SUBSCRIBE

Outstanding Video!!! I have a 2005 with a 6 speed manual used for towing and I desperately needed this information!! Thank you
Awesome man, thanks for watching!
Great video. The truck is getting closer and closer to being done.
Ya man! I can't wait to get the motor and front axle in. So much stuff depends on those being there
Thanks for the info!
Thanks for watching!
I bought a new 178/208 cam with an engine I was buying for my '83 Ford 4x4. You left me feeling cozy about keeping it with my mediocre 500 hp longer term goal.
Awesome, grunty off idle torque is definitely where it’s at
Compounds build a ton of torque. Be careful what you wish for or you'll be constantly rebuilding that transmission regardless whos kit you use.
Good to know
Good to post what not to do 🙈👍🏻
Yeah let’s be honest, that’s about all I’m qualified to do. 😆
These are the ones worth keeping. The rigs that are built for you. BY YOU. Build it once build it right, don't put a monetary value on it. In the long run if taken care of properly, you will never have to purchase another unless you wanted to. Money no object I would do a mechanical cummins ( 24 valve p pump ) with the 6 speed manual 5600 in a ford ( because let's be honest their interior is WHAY nicer ) on a custom chassis based on rockwells... unstoppable.
You are right, things definitely got out of hand but I love this truck
The 178/208 will drop ur egts by a couple hundred degrees also
Awesome, yeah it’s just a matter of time until I end up with that one
If you don't want to rip out past 2500rpm then stock or custom cam is the way to go. Honestly a good ported head would do more for you than a cam ever would.
I agree. Gonna put this thing on a dyno next week with the stock cam and then I might throw the Hamilton back in and compare on the dyno. Should be interesting
So what cam are u gonna use?
Stock
Plethora ... 🤔
Oh yes
Ha because 6.7 liter 24 valve was a option that year!
