Thank you for taking the time to make this video on 3 way valve replacement. I need to figure out if just straight water to add back in to the system or some type of glycol mix. My ncb 180e is 2017, 3 way is still good but I'd like to change it as a preventative maintenance.
Ive eventually learned to use lots of plumbers grease when reseating the gaskets on 3way, as per tech support’s suggestion. I dont think Ive ever replaced it successfully on the 1st try without leaks
I have error 16E on startup. Unit before error had no problem with heating water or furnace heat. I flushed system with vinegar (annual thing) noticed that my heating prop. glycol was dirty so I replaced all of it. Also found grey sludge in the condenser's drain (about 2 cups of grey liquid). System ran perfectly for a couple days then coded to 16. It will only fire up in the HX for about 10 sec until temp displays 199F and unit shuts down with code 16. I think there may be air in the HX? I purged air as best possible using a hose to the glycol makeup tank (taken from the heating loop that goes to furnace). What am I missing???? The Hi Limit switch is doing its job.
Cory C I’m split, I really like the Noble a lot but it does t have the ability to connect to WiFi and the Navien does. I have some clients that winter out of state and lake home owners so having access is important. That’s when I use the NCB.
Hi, any way you can estimate the number of hours of labor entailed? I was roughly quoted $2,400 for this job, that's gotta be at least eight hours work. I thought that was excessive. I know you edited, but I am guessing this did not take you a full day, thanks.
That’s an “I don’t want the job” quote. The trick is to find the Navien whisperer who has done this at least three times. I u destined all the steps and just replaced a flow sensor but I’ll be dam ed if I attempt this (I also need the work done). Now, hold my beer will ya…
Thx for uploading this
Looks like a real pita

Excellent video. Now I know where the three way valve is located and hopefully never have to replace one in my NCB 240-E combi boiler.
Thanks man i gotta change one of those this week and i was Skeeered but now im confident I'll only bust a few of those clips .
Great video. I’m loving these Navien Combi units. Thanks for sharing some service calls

I was wondering because the video didn’t show greasing the gaskets / o-rings.
Amazing video thanks!!!
When you disconnect PCM board and put it back in do you have to reprogram the board or settings saved?
What is usually the cost of the material and labor for this job. Great video thank you!

Any videos on the Navien npe 240s mixing valve replacement?
Great video, how long does it take to replace the 3 way valve from start to finish?
Takes me at least an hour start to clean up.
Been having a lot of problems with these Combi units? Would you still recommend Navien? What do you think of the Lochinvar combi?

I’ve installed both and like them both. The only thing I like is that the noble is quieter. Both seem to be just as reliable.

That's crazy, it's a $60 part and can be replaced in an hour to hour an a half.
