As usual these videos are unedited and named for the location followed by a number indicating the order in which they were filmed. I apologize for the fact that lighting and mounting was less than stellar. This was my 7th trip to Mexico but this was the first dive on DPV I had filmed. We hit Na Hoch Na Chich the day before but I filmed nothing. I improvised GoPro mounts on the rental DPV and did the best I could without the dedicated DPV video lights I have for diving at home. The mounts were a bit loose and made extra noise and using my primary light as a video light well behind the camera cast a substantial shadow at times. One of the 3 GoPro cameras/camera housings I was carrying also flooded resulting in my missing quite a bit of video for this dive.
From the small pool we entered the cave and took the immediate right at the first T in the back of the cavern. At the second T we made a right then a very immediate jump to the left from that line. We proceeded to a third T then took a Right until we turned. The video was stopped. We went back to the third T. Video was resumed and then we swam to the end of that line and back to the third T. At this point I noticed my third camera was flooded. We did some other side passages but eventually came back to the first T that we turned right at and proceeded as if we had made a left turn. I ended up shooting video of our way back to the first T and the cavern from our turn point.
Cave Diving. Riviera Maya. Yucatan Peninsula. Technical Diving. Mexican Cenote. KISS Sidewinder. Seacraft Future. Underwater Light Dude Lights. Special thanks to ProTec Dive Center in Tulum for being our base of operation and providing great rentals but also great info so we could do self-guided dives.
