It took Levy exactly one question, 23 seconds into the interview, to bring up Magnus. Record breaker.
You, sir, are a true fan, having modeled your entire look on Levy. Cheers!
Is that faster than all the other interviewees?
@@pgck Levy has top 5 places of mentioning Magnus speedrun, this video just broke his old record
8 seconds after the first question lol
"Comments just in general are more idiotic than the average person that is watching"....
Levy never fails to insert Magnus in every video, even if it's not on his channel
got to feed the algorithm lol
Didn't know Levy was playing Fide Candidates
Good thing to keep learning each day
🤣🤣🤣
Fide losing focus
He’s the most popular influencer and has brought a lot of people into the game.
I thought for a moment this was a meme. Like Levy interviewing Rozman, but no. It's true
Fide falling into entertainment now
It’s easy to talk trash about Levy, but it was his videos that got me and my 4 yr old into chess.. and I’ll always be grateful for that.
Ted Bundy got me into Criminal Psychology, it doesn't mean i think he's a great person
@@idiotwatch8420 That's an off the walls comparison
@@idiotwatch8420good thing no one asked you what you think
Why should anybody trash talk about him? He seems to be a nice guy and he is a great content creator.
@@idiotwatch8420the thing is, ted bundy never covered criminal psychology so idk how you can relate the two.
It's so great for Levy to interview a small channel like FIDE chess! They have a bright future ahead and I hope this exposure helps them out :D
This is the most sarcastically non sarcastic comment ever! Love it lol 😂
The non-irony 😂😂
To be fair, fide have a pretty small channel compared to levy
@@o_s-24 true XD
This looks like a schedule interview but what we don’t know is that levy just randomly sat down and refused to go away.
That women is actually an emergency responder pretending to represent the FIDE, she was told to do so to drag him out of his psychosis.
Levy is aware of that and just plays along because he thinks it will benefit him emotionally for that 30 minutes.
After this interview Levy just sat quietly for 3 hours staring at his shoes.
3.5 hours have past now, decisively Levy gets up his chair and unthinkingly decides on what video interview to upload next.
Levy shakes his head attempting to cue a sign, the inhabitants look at each other trying to figure out who that random dude is sitting in their chair.
From interviewing to being interviewed, Levi has come a long way
Levi never fails to break into FIDE....
It's Levy, not Levi...
@@andreitiberiovicgazdoviciHe’s pronouncing it differently for comedic effect.
@@andreitiberiovicgazdovici i no speak espanyol
He looks like Leon Trotsky.
aaaand Vladimir Lenin... and Colonel Sanders
@@TactfulWagglecolonel sanders is crazy
Levy never fails to give a interview
Chessboxing was what really got me into chess. I have always been a big sports fan but seeing an athletic sport like boxing and what I would call a finesse sport like chess combined really made me interested in chess. And I went to Levy's channel and his clear passion for chess really hooked me on the sport and I have been bad at it ever since
4:28 As someone that leaves a lot of CZcams comments... Yeah, that checks out.
God I hate it so much. Levy's comment section feels auto-generated almost
"Before I met my wife I didn't take advice well that's why I'm not a grandmaster"that is why I love you Levy
best advise I ever got from Levy. PP on the PP
I was surprised that Rozman wanted to play Capablanca. Given his own style of play, I was expecting some of the flashier players. 😊
I am 41 years old and have been super, incredibly interested in Chess the last couple years. I need to play more but Gotham has inspired me to learn and be more in touch with the current form of the game. Love it and him. I learned when I was 6 and have always hovered around 1300, but I love watching top, mid and low level chess because there is always something to learn.
Less than 30% US viewership surprised me
Why
@@FemtoSecondSpectroscopy because he’s an American CZcamsr
@@ethan073 Many people in the world understand English and watch videos from American CZcamsrs.
Chess always has been bigger in Europe. It’s not surprising at all
@@redr0sid210 yep, I thought with the popularity booms over the last several years the US may have caught up a bit closer. And 25% representation in the candidates this year… C’MON AMERICANS
Interviewer became the interviewed. Now we just need Charlize to interview Sagar and we'll finally come full circle.
Levy is probably the 2nd most famous chess player of our generation
Prolly first but okay
@@oliseoseji8868 Levy, Magnus, and Hikaru are the big 3. Levy probably has the largest influence out of all of them.
@misfortune5091 oh we bringing rap into this😂
@misfortune5091 I believe magnus could have been the most famous but he doesn't really take his influence to the fullest unlike levy and hikaru
@@oliseoseji8868 Gotham says it himself, Magnus is a whole other level. Not comparable.
I was waiting for them to start playing
It was a brave move for FIDE to interview Levy. I gotta respect that given the minefield they laid for themselves.
I really enjoyed this
Great interview Levy!
Damn those are some fine legs! Levy is looking sharp today!
They are completely regular you weirdo
Damnnn you got me there
nah you can't mislead me like that no way
The recaps are the only way I'd follow a classical game. Levy has made top-level chess accessible to me.
ah yes, my favorite to win candidates 2024!
Definitely one of the candidates :')
To make interesting, FIDE can organise online chess tournament with top 100 rated players on one side and open to all on other side, just like call centre, top rated players can pick each game in queue and play... Like 3 games per open user as 5 mins game, 24x7 for one month... Those who win can move up get chance to play higher rated players... This way, you can find talent, who were not suppressed by financial/power influences... Also fans can connect with top players
People r underestimating Ian. I believe he will win a 3rd and maybe this time clinch the title. He has a lot of grit to keep going despite losing championship twice.
Always a delight to listen Levy, thanks FIDE
Fantastic interview
Love to see Levy on the channel! Great interview.
When will Chess 2 will be launched FIDE?
For a second I thought Levy was a candidate lol
Levy's taste in shoes is 20 times better than taste in barbers
What's the name of the shoes though?
I thought i was a dull person until I saw the host
With the separated live games without commentary plus this interview this channel is goated
His insight about the cool perspective of chess is so true i myself started playing in late 2019 quit playing in 2021 my rating is around 2050 in rapid the reason was the same as stated by gotham because after a certain rating chess demands time and your emotional energy which i dont think an average is ok with of course i love chess but now is just watch all the major tournaments on youtube
Eye rolls are professional
Ohh this was soo good. Please get Sagar too.
I really miss this version of levy on his main channel
what about agadmator?
I feel like classical chess with a long time control is more like art. You would never watch somebody draw a painting for 6 hours but seeing the result is very nice. And for chess we have a nice game we can talk about. And ig you wouldn't see art like this in tv either
Levy stop rolling ur eyes and make eye contact😂😂
Really good questions - not a common appearance in the world of chess interviews.
Nice chairs!
Chess has this peculiar quality where it's like watching a mathematician do math. It might be interesting,, but what they do feels so difficult, and if the proof goes on and on (Fermat's Last Theorem, for example), it can be a slog. When you see a sport like tennis, you don't have to play to admire the physical prowess on display. They hit shots you can't and you can see it. In chess, often one tiny mistake can cause a total change in the game, and yet people don't play well enough to see this happening. You have to be quite good at chess and still you'll miss things because these are the top players in the world.
This is one reason Levy makes more money than top chess players. People will pay to watch a tennis or football match. Would they pay to watch chess? You absolutely need commentary or you couldn't follow the game at all. I do wonder if AI might get better at explaining chess moves, but right now, it doesn't seem like it's well suited to explaining chess even if the best chess engines are much more powerful compared to the best players.
Geat!
I thought he was interviewing himself
I´m 17 and play since 6 ys old. After the nepo-Magnus world championship, i got into chess , and i discover Levy. I never watched more videos of a single youtuber in my life
Good interview Always good to hear Levy speak what’s on his mind he’s never at a loss for words to his Credit
Levy 🤝💪
Fun to see him on both sides of these interviews.
How to tell if Levy is being kidnapped:
_Levy being kidnapped:_ *doesn't talk about Magnus*
_Levy being fine:_ *talks about Magnus*
Tania should be the interviewer
We want Caruana interview part 2
Bro has that Hikaru rizz
Levy never fails to mention (why) he is not a Grandmaster
Levy has a great understanding of the chess world. Hats off.
That is an Uno reverse card
Levy is kool guy.
Who is this beautiful host
I never thought I would see an Ambassador chess set on a big chess channel. I have one and I consider it a bit .... mediocre. Should I change my opinion?
Bro never fails to milk magnus
Who is this?
You got 1million subs in 40 days doesn't mean they started playing during that period, they probably found your channel at that point of time when they were already playing.
When the interviewer gets interviewed
I’ve never heard of bot mittens
For me:
1-Candidates
2-World Championship
3-World Cup
Nobody asked 😂
I paused the video when Levy was thinking whom (in history) he would like to play. I guessed he would say Fischer or Morphy; but not because they were American.
I’m glad I’m one of the people who started watching Levy when the spike came in .. arguably the best content creator in CZcams for me!!
And the best thing about it, is that not everyone can say “It could’ve been me” .. the guy is actually good at chess .. and can entertain & never fails to provide quality content!!

Bro thinks he's on the team💀
jealous much ?
@@xpyrox5462 no because he's not on the team💀

FIDE Candidates, and why is he interviewed?
I think Levy has done more to spread chess than any other person in the world, and it’s good to see FIDE actually recognising that
Real Candidate !!
Great to se Levy here, he has done more for chess than most candidates combined👏🏼
Honestly though I'm jealous of that fit.
Poor Levy, he won't hear the end of this for months. Why would FIDE do this? 😅
What's the interviewer name? She is good!
What is the name of the interviewer
Was expecting Levy to be the interviewer. Had to re-read the title. Caught me by surprise lol
Interview Starts: 0:00
Levy: mAgnus? 0:23
Nice kicks, lady
Interesting! I think perhaps as we keep commentating games, hosting high-stakes events, and … yes… rapid games. We could see a resurgence!
levy's shoes are big
Levy saying Hikaru is a favorite is just a lie. Everyone knows Nepo is the strongest but the desire on the majority is an youg indian to take the spot on World Championship. As a Brazilian I’m cheering for Pragg all the way!
magnus lover
When broadcasting chess games I think there should be no live evaluation bar and the commentators shouldn't use chess engines as well. I think it kinda takes away the magic of the game, also it disconnects the players from the audience (because they don't have the same information) and in the worst case makes them look stupid ("he didn't find the best move") although they are the best players in the world. It also basically predicts the future so it can spoiler the outcome of a game ("this would have been the only winning move and he didn't find it"). Would love to here other opinions on this.
Insert here.
12:50 wait what?!
Such a shy interview. Was levy tired or just not interested or what ?
Nervous I would say but i don’t know why
The first answer Levy gave was the correct answer to what develops people’s interest in chess, but he withdrew that statement. When Magnus plays, people watch the game.
Omg. The look on her face when Levy mentions dog poop on shoes.
She was holding her laugh. She works for FIDE and tries to stay professionally. Very kind of her.
That's a Senator chess set. Thanks Amazon!
Germany 🥳
Fide CONFRONTS Levy Rozman
