This song made me cry. Philadelphia knows your pain Seattle, we lost our beloved Harry Kalas. Both Dave and Harry truly loved baseball, there is no doubt about that, and they loved their city. Fans will always miss them, because I know I still miss Harry singing High Hopes during our games just as you miss hearing 'My oh my' during your games. RIP to both men they were truly one of the precious treasures of baseball

I think this is probably one of the best baseball songs ever written. Really underappreciated. Although this song is about Niehaus, to me, it transcended the Mariners and him. It really feels like it's about any announcer for any city in a sport special to you. As a Giants fan, I can only hope that when Kruk and Kuip eventually pass, something I don't want to think about, we can get a tribute half as good as this one. Rest in peace Dave.
