I so agree with the Jailbait being a gross term. It victimizes the predator. Brother you weren't baited, you knew she was 15, a child tells you she wants to be with you IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AS AN ADULT TO SAY NO AND DISTANCE YOURSELF. THAT IS ALL THERE IS TO IT.
The fact that the thought of ab**ing a child even TEMPTS you into being "baited" into doing something so terrible is despicable on its own. Let them keep using the term so we can see who all the creeps are. I've never heard a stand up guy seriously refer to a child as "jailbait," only the ones who would actually be tempted by them
The term "jailbait" is only to be used in cases where you have underaged people who do things such as using a false ID to enter a club to KNOWINGLY entrap older people into a situation. While there are cases of this happening, they are few; and this is NOT an example of one.

to me jailbait has always meant a person who is a perv, rapist, animal or child , elder abuser, who once in jail or prison will attract ''unwanted attention'' ; hes a lure for an extremely bad time once locked up .
My understanding is jail bait means someone looks older than they actually are. However the term is really weird cause it does make the violator look like the victim.
I hate the term jailbait too, mainly because as a hormonal teen girl who wanted to rebel I saw it as a cool thing to be called, it’s almost like a term of endearment from groomers and pedos towards their victims and implies the victim is at fault

Same. My grandma would always tell me to be careful when I left the house for walks, or gone out to stores because men are weird, and I was pretty enough to be considered "jailbait". I tried saying that I would just wear baggy clothes instead of my usual shorts and tank tops. She hit me with the gross reality that these disgusting men would just mentally undress me, no matter what I tried to cover myself in. Couldn't even walk to school or work without being catcalled or honked at 🤦🏻♀️
