"Of course, the lyrical inspiration is a bee, also in a metaphoric way. The tiniest thing can sometimes be the most important thing. A bee can bring life or if we destroy all the bees, life will stop here. It's a very beautiful animal, that's why you can find it on the album cover too. The track itself is a kind of progressive and I'm sure that it will surprise some fans in a positive way. We love it!"

Tomi Joutsen (vocalist) is doing both cleans and growls. I really like his voice, cause there is great contrast in it.
I saw them Live twice in France ( with dimmu borgir and soilwork). Excellent .
I have known them for Ages but was not able to listen them before Tomi Joutsen started to sing. As a Finn, I have seen them maybe 10 times in my own town. Tomi owns also the songs published before him and they sound awesome! And I hate those songs with previous singer.

By the way, if you are wondering about the lyrics in this song and the meaning behind them, they - like all the lyrics in Amorphis' songs - are based on the Finnish national epic the Kalevala and its sister collection the Kanteletar. The Tuonela mentioned in the lyrics is the Underworld where the dead were thought to be in. One of the central character in the stories in the poems, Lemminkäinen, dies. His mother goes to Tuonela to bring him back. The Sky god Ukko then sends the bee from the heavens to bring life back into Lemminkäinen.
Can't go wrong with Amorphis! They've a very strong catalogue of songs!

I get goosebumps every time I hear this song. Tomi is a great vocalist, and he signs live EXACTLY like he sounds in the studio, he's crazy talented. Both growls and cleans. Also, the lyrics are SO GOOD!

Amorphous has only one vocalist and he is the legendary Tomi Joutsen. He is great live and he is also great in playing drums. His voice is unique and powerful .

her name is Noa Gruman, she was doing all the female vocals on The Queen of Time, except Amongst Stars that featured Anneke.
Tomi is a gift! What a voice! Clean or gutural, its just perfect. Is my fav vocal of Amorphis history. 💕
It's funny that you ask if they had two vocalists because early on in their history (early 90's) they did have two vocalists but starting with their fourth album Tuonela they reduced it to one. They started out as a death metal band with mostly growls for first three albums but shifted to mainly clean vocals for their next three. The current vocalist joined Amorphis on their 7th album Eclipse and brought back the growls and you heard the results.

I've seen Amorphis twice, excellent live band.
First time was headlining, with Swallow The Sun in support. 2nd time was co-headlining with Dark Tranquillity, w/Omnium Gatherum and Moonspell as support bands.
I hate you so much. I'd die to see the Amorphis, Dark Tranquility, Omnium Gatherum and Moonspell gig. Never seen any of them live and love them all :(
I remember both of these shows at a small local venue. I was so god damn tired at the end of both shows.

@@s1lentsymphony607 I live in a rural farm town in Australia far from the city. 2 hour bus, 5 hour train to Melbourne to see 5 shows in 5 nights then a 13 hour trip on a train from Melbourne to Sydney to see 3 shows in 3 days :D It was epic and I got to meet some friends from the facebook group I run. Plus I got a shout out on stage from my friend when she supported Kalmah :p

This is hands down my favorite band.
This is one of my most listened to albums in the past decade, Queen of Time. Every song on it is absolutely amazing. This is the first song on the album. Feel free just to go on right to the next song for a reaction, "Message in Amber". This whole album is based around The Kalevala, the most important source of Finnish mythology.

Just bought a ticket to Amorphis gig on October 15th at Tawastia Club in Helsinki Finland.
Gotta take ear plugs with me just in case. I'm sure people have told you already it's one guy, Tomi Joutsen, on vocals. (joutsen = swan)
Today I saw Pimeys (= darkness) at Tawastia. Even better than I expected, definitely a great live band! 25 songs 2 hours. Sadly they have decided to dissolve the band.
