- After months of going back and forth on selling the 250L, Alexis saved me from making a bad decision and selling the bike that made my channel what it is today!
So in celebration of keeping the CRF250L, I decided to buy a full FMF PowerCore 4 Exhaust system complete with the PowerBomb header.

So I see people with either the powercore exhaust and the powerbomb header or the Q4 exhaust and the mega bomb header. Do you think the powercore exhaust and mega bomb header would sound good? Or would it be too loud?

I didn't know the CRF250L even existed until i was browsing for another bike and was searching KLX300's and found they aren't as common in the UK, and stumbled across the CRF250L and realized they are far more available in the UK. I'm 37 and currently own a Yamaha XT600E, Suzuki SV650S (curvy) which i've just converted to street-fighter and about to get back on the road after 3 years sitting, and a Yamaha DT125R (which i need to sell to make room for a CRF250L!, haha). CRF's look like a good bike to own.
Smart decision! Glad you’re keeping it. Question... how in the HELL do you install a new exhaust and NOT start it up for a few seconds to hear the sound???

Weight saving and my FMF gave me %17+ (with fuel tune) on my old KTM250F. Best pipes ever;)
Honda were having a laugh with that stock exhaust. I had a Honda xr250r and a xl250r and the exhaust are so heavy. Stock these crf250l's are what a 400cc should weigh
That's a crazy difference! Definitely worth the money.
@@AdventureDaily also one of my CR500 with a powercore as the stock expansion chamber cracked (as they do) well the cr5 did not need extra go go juice, I think I gained about %11+ HP and that was only a mild jet job! But every bike I have dropped an fmf on when I've sold the steeds I'm like oh fruitcake! Should have kept the pipe:(

The FMF comes with the 10mm headed muffler bolt! Stock is 12mm. Bolt length is just a smidge different.

I have a 2013 crf250L with the FMF megabomb header and Q4 muffler, EJK, air box mods and a K&N air filter. I was not impressed with the difference in power. Don't get your hopes up too high or you will be disappointed. I believe the weight savings for the muffler is 20lbs. My bike with 14/40 or 13/40 will not come close to 98 mph so I have a hard time believing your buddy. My riding partner had a '13 250L as well with the same set up. He eventually put a 305 kit in it and that made a huge difference. However it did not give him more top speed, but for offroading it was much improved.
Even 14/43 would redline at 93mph it's not easy getting a 250cc single to go 100mph it just does not have the rpm range my xr250 is gear 60mph@6k 70mph@7k so at 93.7mph I'm at 9370rpm I don't think it will pull gearing any higher. Almost similar revs/speed as an R6 but without the 15k redline
My hopes aren't anywhere it was more for the weight reduction and looks than anything else. The 305 kit is intriguing but I am aiming for reliability.
@@AdventureDaily I forgot mention even with the Q4 it's now loud as balls. I wear earplugs when I ride. It's really bad when riding on the asphalt or concrete.

I just found your vloggggg. You can easily add power to the 250...The CB300 is the same engine, but only 286cc..just bigger bore. (You can do a 305cc...bore and stroke pump) My 250 makes 24.7 at the rear wheel. CB300R cams, a bit of porting/polishing, 38mm throttle, CB300R air box....and there is more to gain. My current secret is ignition mapping and CB300 exhaust...low bend, like a flat tracker, not off-road rock worthy, but sea to Tibet! Our 305 will be a monster! We are thinking 35 Rear wheel HP...but, there is still more.
There probably just going to run stock 26hp with the cb300r engine. Maybe gain 2hp with the IMF if the power commander dumps a load more fuel in.
That's something to think about for sure! Whatever I do I want it to be reliable. I have never heard good things about BBK's.
@@AdventureDaily I think a lot of the big bore kits can overheat. With aircooled the fins would have to be bigger. With water cooling is there enough provision in the cooling system. Volume of coolant size of fan etc. With more power comes more heat. Thermo dynamics. These devices restricted 125cc that make 24+ hp make just as much heat as a 250cc 4 stroke. All the very old 2 stroke bikes were plagued with overheating issues
@@chrisredfield3240 I am not a Power commander fan...yet there are gains in the middle. The biggest mistake I see, is keeping dirt bike pipe bends, when down pipes with a slightly smaller ID create more mid range. A Thailand CB300R does 30+ bhp. Cams and ECU with OEM exhaust. Our 250 does near 25 BHP...and we are not done. A 286 is a joke. Talk 305...now you have tuning to do. Remember, when Honda says 26 HP....that is not BHP, just engine specs. Engine HP. The IMF will give WOT power, but lose dramatic torque in the middle.
@@artthurman3446 I think the 250 only has 17hp at the wheel. I know the new cb300r has 33hp but it looks very different from the crf250l think the 26hp earlier version has to be used. I could be wrong. It will be hard and expensive to rob an engine out of that newer version
