At least he accepted responsibility for his actions. I was surprised to find out the n.h.l. has no personal conduct policy whatsoever. Like how Pat kane was involved in the violent criminal attack of a cab driver over about .50 cents. Then there is the star struck teenage girl who he hooked up with. She got sexually assaulted, she had two bites from Kane. How is he still playing? How does the n.h.l. spell personal conduct policy? N.D.A. (non disclosure agreement).

Todd Bertuzzi went on to play 9 seasons in the NHL after the Steve Moore incident. In fact, he had 71 points in the season directly after the incident (which was the 3rd best season of his career). Now the season after that he missed almost the entire season due to an injury and after that his point totals dropped. The narrative you're trying to create for this video isn't correct, injury and age (he was in his 30s) are why his numbers dropped off.
Sorry but that didn not "kill" his career, it certainly hurt his reputation but the hyperbole is too much.

    - Mike Danton (hired a hitman to kill either his agent or his father, spent 5 years in federal prison, deported to Canada, no team was willing to pay his legal fees required to return to the USA (ie. entry waiver). Nonetheless continued playing in Quebec and Sweden)
    - Slava Voynov (domestic assault against his wife, voluntarily returned home to Russia and won a Gagarin Cup, gave up on a second NHL chance following a lengthy season-long 2019-20 suspension)
    - Brendan Leipsic (made misogynistic comments on Instagram, left for Russia and is now a Russian citizen producing solid numbers in the KHL)
    - Marty McSorley (clubbed Donald Brashear, convicted of assault)
    - Jake Virtanen (2017 sexual assault allegations surfaced in 2021, eventually leading to a charge that he was eventually acquitted of. Faltered on a second chance in Edmonton)
    - Mitch Miller (a case of ending a career before it even started, but bullying a Black youth since school. Now in Slovakia)
    - Alex Galchenyuk (arrested and charged for an alcohol-enraged incident this past July. Jumped ship to Russia)
    - Milan Lucic (domestic assault charge driven by alcohol. Likely that his career is over given his lack of production)
Speaking of Danton, his statement of going to prison over failing in the NHL is like making a choice between death and expulsion… Needed to get his priorities in order

Mike Danton is one of the strangest scandals in hockey. I knew some people who went to school with the girl he asked to find him a hit man. Would that have been worse than a Dr. With multiple drunk driving convictions hitting a teenage girl who would ride her skateboard 7 miles a day to her job? After sending her 150' thru the air he kept driving. She was still alive... being a doctor he could have helped her. No murder. No manslaughter. Just a misdemeanor conviction. My point? right? where the fuck is matt petgrave ??? he just ended a dudes life bringing his skate up 6 FEET into the air and claiming it was an accident. ALL NHL players who commented on it said its intentional. only the NHL commentators keep the facade of claiming its an accident because they are scared of getting called racist for holding a dark person accountable for their actions.

If you purposely go after a player and the player gets hurt and misses games then you should have to be suspended untill the player comes back. You hurt a player and knock him out for a year? Then you should be suspended untill that player comes back with no pay

Could Bertuzzi have been a bit more, cautious, exerting his punch ? Perhaps. But since when do lions ask themselves questions about their prey"s feelings ? Moore had it coming.

Bertuzzi got robbed. What hurt Moore was he 3 Avs that thought it was smart to dog-pile on them. 4 big players in full equipment that’s 800lbs. So why weren’t those Avs disciplined, they just don’t think.

What happened to Moore was an accident, in my opinion. Yes, it was a cheap shot, but had he not fallen forward, Bertuzzi wouldn't have landed the way he did on him.

Moore could have done a lot to prevent what happened. Anyone with a hint of self awareness in that situation should know that fighting one of the smallest guys on their team and then acting like you don't need to answer the bell again, after deliberately injuring an order of magnitude superior player and captain of the other team, is a pretty quick way to make someone take matters into their own hands. If he didn't play like a rat and then try to hide in a hole instead of standing there like a man and taking the punishment that he unequivocally deserved, then he wouldn't have had to pretend like he couldn't play hockey anymore and sue Bertuzzi for damages that far outweighed any career earnings he could've possibly dreamed of making with his skill level. Bertuzzi and Naslund were never the same players after this incident and that will go down as Moore's singular accomplishment as a hockey player, nothing but a detriment to the careers of far superior players who were misfortunate enough to share the ice with a rat like him.
