New episode of a documentary series where I plan to present all the greatest players of all time and then give them a score so a ranking of the best players can be created. In this episode we take on Michel Platini who played forJuventus for most of his career, not only one of the greatest midfielders of all time but one of the greatest players of all time. See how Michel Platini ranks and just how good was he.

Platini at the Euros in 84 and Maradona in Mexico 86 are the two greatest performances for me in a major tournament. Platini’s back to back hat-tricks where also perfect. Left foot, right foot, header. And to score 9 goals in 5 games was outstanding. Then 2 years later we got Maradona and we all know how good that was......what a time for football. My two favourite players and a real privilege watching them at their peak. RIP Diego

@@benardboateng1501 I don't quite understand what you are asking?
Platini was voted the greatest midfielder of the 20th century. Won the Balon D'or three times. Top scorer in Italian football (the toughest league in the world). Won the league twice, two European trophies and World Club Cup with Juventrus. The Juventus team was full of world cup winners like Zoff, Cabrini, Scirea, Rossi, Tardelli, Gentile plus Boniek (Poland's best player).
Defences in Italy were very strong back then, plus the tackle from behind was not outlawed, scoring plenty goals there meant you were world class.
I think we can safely say that if Michel Platini stayed in St Ettiene until the age of 31 he would not have won three Balon D'ors, would not have won European trophies or the Club World Cup and would not have been voted the Greatest Midfielder of the 20th century.
And with regards to Neymar, if Neymar really wants to be a Balon D'or winner, leaving La Liga and going to League 1 doesn't sound a good idea. Not that I am bothered about Neymar. Platini was a team player who could score goals, Neymar has so far shown at PSG to be an absolute show pony who no one takes seriously (other than his followers).

He made the first goal for Giresse by spinning his man, then dribbling past three players and cut it back for Giresse from the byline.
Michel Platini is the only midfield player I have seen who actually could play all facets of the cenrre forward position. For isntance, Platini scored an incredible amount of headers.

    2. Poland had an excellent team with Boniek, who plaid with Platini at Juve later that year, and Andrzej Szarmach - very good scorer. And the great Grzegorz Lato . And the keeper who later played in Porto. Many of their players were so valuable that they were allowed to play in Western Europe.

So, 7 matches with wins vs Brazil, Argentina, Italy and Yugoslavia. + 2 more wins. And 1-0 loss to W.Germany, Euro champions at that time. Poland was something else

The only problem is that he had no written contract for it and he thought you can count on what a man (Blatter) says : it's a naive point of vue when you work with swiss finance lawyers as Blatter, Infantino and the others.
