Did Johnston get the ball? Yes. Did Johnston make contact with Silva? Yes. Did Silva go down very easily? Yes. Did Silva go down late? Yes. Was it Sliva or Johnston initiating contact? 🤷♂️ was it a clear and obvious mistake? No. Was the referee in a great position to see it? Yes. Should VAR have been involved? No. Was it a penalty? 🤷♂️

Does not make sense to say that the Rangers penalty was soft or wrong to give. If Lennon thinks that then he must agree that the goal Dessers scored should stand, as that was much softer than the Johnson won. Alison the same as Lennon looking through green tinted glasses.

There is a difference between a volley on the upper leg with 0 contact on the ball and a slight touch on the ball before minimal contact from a player falling backwards to a player already on his way down👍

Three sky pundits including ex referee with no dog in the fight say 100% penalty. Allison and Lennon showing 100% confirmation bias. Roughie spot on with his analysis of penalty and when watched closely Johnson gets slight contact on the ball but on realising Silva is going by him panicks and kicks him on the knee ,stonewaller.

I cannot watch this live guys. I am a Welsh Rangers fan. My Dad was from Rutherglen. My honest view is that the team that thinks they have the edge may relax a bit more. Rangers could win at Parkhead but could drop points elsewhere. Sterling has to become the right back, with Tavernier given licence to roam. The wide spaces need to be plugged. Remember Ridvan should be back. Sima and Matonda will love the space too. I can see Soutar and Ben Davies at the back too. Rangers by 1 point. Great balanced show encompassencompasses

In many foreign countries, they use the word "moral" to mean psychological. So when Clement calls it a moral victory, he means a psychological or mental victory. Given how many foreign players Lennon has managed, he might have realised that. Clement even explains what he meant, by saying the team was not capable of coming back like that a few months ago.

The Rangers penalty was a penalty if, and only if, football is not a contact sport. It's that simple. If we apply the same logic to every challenge then every challenge is a foul. Silva was obviously on diving duties that previously were assigned to Cantwell.

Something smells with VAR. Why was the penalty incident edited to force a favourable outcome? Beaton wasn’t shown the touch by AJ on his VAR replay, which is crucial to the decision. Why was this edited out? He was shown a 1 second shot of the follow through contact in slow motion. The initial contact on the ball was edited out. To think an official referee is in charge of this, is quite unbelievable.

It's a penalty. It doesn't matter if it was soft or Johnson got some of the ball, he left his leg up there and impeded Silva who by that point was in behind him. It's not difficult to understand.

In the first half Rangers were tactically inept and were lucky at half time to be down by just two goals.
Through substitutions and a major tactical correction Rangers found a way back and nullified Celtics first half dominance.
Alistair Johnstone is not good under pressure and this showed when gave away the penalty. The penalty was pivotal and started Rangers resurgence.
Looks like it’s time up for Goldson, when he gave away the penalty, he had no idea where the ball was. Too many times he has gave away penalties and goals.
Moral victory for Rangers, can understand why would claim that, but he cannot be happy with his team’s collapse in the first half.

Moral victory is the rangers managers attempt to galvanize his team. He is a good man manager and motivator by the looks of it but he isn't yet tactically aware imo and doesn't know yet how to beat Celtic.
Rangers have improved slightly but let's be honest the score at half time could have been 5-1. @@davidbarr9343 i totally agree. I played football for years and then became a Referee for a couple of years purely because i was interested in how they get it wrong so often. It was a great learning experience. So much so, i never blame the Ref anymore even when they get it wrong. Like you say its swing and roundabouts although there is so much at stake in games its a lot of pressure. Think of relegation from the EPL could cost hundreds of millions

Not sure what game others were watching but Celtic were crap. Created a couple of decent chances in the first half as Rangers were terrible in the first half and Celtic could only get a deflected goal and a penalty for a stupid handball (no idea what Goldson was doing but it’s a stone wall)

Celtic fans and pundits love to cry about VAR and bias for Rangers yet VAR gave them their penalty (the ref didn’t in real time) and VAR chopped off the Desser goal for a foul in the phase of play before (about 30seconds) the goal was even scored.
