  • 🟢 Exactly 30 years ago Fergus McCann swept into Celtic Park and secured the clubs very existence with an eleventh hour investment that would alter the course of Celtic’s history for ever.
Many figures played a key part in what eventually took place on that day back on the 4th of March 1994 and we've spoken to several of the most important individuals across the series so far.
🍀 At The Celtic Exchange our aim in The Battle To Save Celtic series been to cover the story from all angles and we untangle the tale of a quite incredible time in Celtic's history.
Guests so far have included fans' groups, financial analysts, businessmen and journalists, but what we haven't heard - up until now - is the view from INSIDE the Celtic dressing room.
Peter Grant was a Celtic player between 1984 - 97 and during that time experienced all the emotions you could imagine as the club went through the most memorable highs, and the most miserable lows.
Working under both "the old board" and the "new regime" as well as pulling on the Hoops almost 500 times, Peter has a story to tell.
    And this is it!
💪 The Battle To Save Celtic is a new mini-series by The Celtic Exchange marking 30 years since Fergus McCann's takeover of Celtic in March 1994

Great stuff. I love listening to Peter.
This was my first era of Celtic.
    First game was 1984.
    5 - 0 against Morton.
I've still got my signed programme.

Remember that last final Peter chased a player the length of the park wae one leg hobbing to stop them scoring & he got there. Also one of the most iconic pics you'll ever see was Granty blessing himself at ibrox then both arms up with the sun belting on him outstanding image. Loved Peter the pointer a celtic legend.

I have to say, Peter has aged really well. He looks great.
Have loved this series of podcasts. Quite sad to hear Peter recall his memories of Maurice Johnston snubbing us for rangers. That was a huge blow at the time, I remember it well. I think he’s right when he said that started a huge downward spiral for us, looking back.

HH. Thank U! Another great interview. Great insight by Granty. I liked his take on the Judas saga. I agreed with Peter saying, how damaging that was. Aw the CELTIC Family, who were following the Hoops back then know that! It hurt Big Time! First time around playing for CELTIC. He was Idolized. Then, for money reasons...... He became Judas! Never wull be forgiven! Peter, talks really well. That was a Ghood choice having him. Thanks again. HH.

As a young man growing up in London and fanatical… absolutely besotted by Celtic… travelling up relentlessly through the “baron” years…. I don’t think I ever gave Peter grant the respect or adulation he deserved as a Celtic stalwart…. 🍀

Great content again, was at Peter's testimonial against München they had to open the top tiers around the ground as turnout was larger than expected. If my memory's not playing tricks i think Peter was a striker in his early days in the boys team.

Peter grant was worshipped at Celtic, when he finally won a trophy, there were tears everywhere. Always him and Tommy leading us through a lot off hard times, rangers team full of world class players. No one understood how they could afford these players, so Celtic supporters had to suck it up for years. But good times returned
