Hey David I am selling a junior drum kit if you are interested?!
Spooky.. literally as this video was posted my Wuhan China cymbal was delivered... Great minds thinks alike😉😂
Nothing crazy?? that kingbeat is crazy af, you will sell it in no time for a good profit. love your vids, greetings from Croatia 😁

Hey david. Love your vids. Quick question. In that video where you cut the bottom head of the acrolite, what was that little device or rig you plugged your in ears in?
Wow a Faust Music stamp! They were a tiny drum shop in Milwaukee right around the corner from me. The owner was weird as shit, didn't let anyone in the shop unless he knew you were gunna buy something. Dude never used a computer and relied on rotary phones for orders. They shut down in about 2013 after the owner died. There's a lot of little Milwaukee lore surrounding that shop. Worth a good to read some articles.
Man dave is still hustling
KoRn 👌
When rdavidr posts, you know it’s gonna be a good day
That's actually true!
We all know a few drummer yt channels, but this channel is always the most fun to watch
This reminds me of ice cube😁
Easily
Yes
Indeed
I feel super inspired by you dude, I've been fixing up a Tama drum set and just need to put in new air vents them I'm selling it along with some old hardware and cymbals I've accumulated over the years so I can make some cash and upgrade to a new Pearl Session Studio Select kit. Now comes the hard part- finding people near me to buy the drums for a good price!!
Nice! best of luck on the project!
Fibes snares can sound awesome. Buddy Rich used one even after moving to another company. He replaced the lugs and throw off to hide the fact it was a Fibes shell. It can sound like a gunshot. Powerful sound.Great find on the Tama snare!
Faust was a great guy and his store was incredible. Could easily spend hours there...
Literally love your buy/sell videos and your drum flipping videos
Just bought a 60's satin flame Slingerland. I am a very happy man right now
Wow, i really dig old Slingerland drums made in Niles,IL. (Chicago). I have a 1972 4 pc. (5x14, 14x20, 14x14, 8x12) i've had over 25yrs in rare sparkling pink -matching snare. Also a early 70's Sound King (chrome over brass) 5x14 10 lug snare, and a 1964 14x22 sparkling red bass drum, i love em'. You said yours is a 60's satin flame, the first kit my parents bought me when i was only 9 was a 1960's used kit in gold satin flame, i still remember the sizes, 14x18 bass, 14x14 fl.tom, 8x12 tom,w/chrome over brass 5x14 snare -8 lugs. The rare satin flame colors for Slingerland are : aqua (green), lavender (purple), and the elusive color tangerine (gold-orange) some call it marmalade. You did'nt mention the color of yours, but it's cool because all classic Slingerlands are highly collectable, and most importantly, sound fantastic. I had to comment to a fellow Slingerland drummer, i'm sure you dig them as much as i dig mine. ROCK ON my friend. Bob.G
Great stuff man! You know how to collect and not horde...something many can’t pull off.
Great point. I used to horde. Now I'm trying to find, refurbish, and sale drum sets and snares.
When the breakdown hits:
„Oh my god this thing is heavyer than I thoughg“
by luck i am here 2 minutes after, such a blessing 🙏
Ohh man I love all of your videos rdavidr! you’re a talented craftsman and a quality drummer👌 have been watching for a couple years by now! Respect ✊ from Qld , Australia 🇦🇺..
I own an April 1960 Ludwig marching snare, 10x14, with wooden hoops and claws instead of the style of the tension rods you have. Mine was painted, not wrapped, in a blue/silver/blue sparkle. Mahogany wood, with maple hoops. Sounds so unique. The only snare in my collection that sounds like that. Worth having around for all kinds of reasons, but if you can get a stand to sit low enough, they make decent old-school rock snares.
I have that same China Crash! It is super fun to play for something so.... compact.
Nice, man! The price of vintage stuff nowadays is ridiculous. I used to buy mint keystone badge supras for 350. It's almost impossible to find them for that price now.
I have that same Fibes kit and I love it!
I knew Mr. Faust personally!!! His store was amazing!!
The all mighty has returned !!!!
I think the tama imperialstar snare is the type Stewart Copeland used to play with The Police. Entertaining video by the way and interesting drum „collection“!
Damn he’s actually two months behind?? Ima warn him of the riots
I'm really diggin' that Fibes SFT690 1970's snare (too bad about the bearing edges), i always wanted one in the brushed copper finish. Buddy Rich lost his endorsement by Rogers in the 60's because they caught him playing the SFT690 on the Tonight Show & all his shows of that time with the Rogers kit , he said he liked it better than the Rogers snare drums because it has the high end cut ring (bouncing off that fiberglass) and he say's it's much more sensitive. I know all those Fibes fiberglass drums are very loud with lots of overtones, sought after by quite a few drummers. Very cool video, man. Bob.G
Those wuhan chinas sound really good, nice tight sound with a quick decay. Put that joker on reverb.
nice vid david
Yes new vid
Love these types of videos dude. Well, I enjoy all your video frankly. But you know what I mean lol
Two things.
1. Faust Drum Center was one of the premiere drum shops in the midwest.
2. I once had a large Imperial Star kit with a snare exactly like that. The whole kit was stolen out of my car sometime around the mid 80s.
Man i love your videos!
Great video bro!!!
Thanks David you identified my drum kit
Hey Dave Love your videos!!! Speaking of big bowtie lugs!! You always like eclectic stuff Have a 50's Ludwig Leedy 30 x 16 drum that someone tried to turn into a Bass drum called the Big Ugly!! I have it on ebay right now. just something unique you might some interest in seeing or have a unique idea of what to do with it!! Keep the vids coming!!!
Nice work mate 👍
Best Channel ever
I have an old Ddrum set that needs some tlc (missing a few pieces of hardware and wrap is bubbled). I’d like to see it to you and hopefully you can fix it and find it a good home.
I wanna hear you with some mallets rocking those concert toms
Hell yeahhhhh
You should really try Masterwork Troy or Masterwork Custom cymbals. These sound just like Zildjian K’s but they are half of the price. I have both Masterwork sets and they sound amazing to me
Try doing business over the internet in Canada (or the EU, etc... ). The pain of getting slapped with a GST / HST / PST / VAT taxes on top of your brokerage fee & duty fees... Doing biz in the US is a dream by comparison.
Hey David, I just had a couple questions about that old Ludwig snare that is in the thumbnail. Do you know what drum it is because I have a drum very similar to it just in a Marine Pearl finish, I have been trying to find out what it is for ages? Also I have been trying to restore this drum, so you have any tips on what to do to restore a vintage drum like that (I/e what heads? What snare wires?) Thank you!! I love your videos man!
i dont care if this video has no point i just love his videos
Anyone have a lead on replacement snare wires for a vintage Kingbeat?
It's him
the negotiator
I LOVE YOU!🙂🤘
do you have any tama star classic the new stuff hardware, lugs, tom mounts etc
My god, the beard is growing
I need a drum set
I have the modern version of the club date. They sound amazing but the downfall is that the tension rods of the bassdrum keep getting loose or even fall off. Do you have any tips how to prevent this?
Badly need a drum kit ☹️
Really wish these were an hour long.
Looking for a period correct snare for my early 70's Ludwig kit, do you still have an acrolite for sale. Love your channel dude!!
I have a 70s acrolite, shoot me a message on ig
The introduction of the whuhan china
david, help me out, bro. I need to know how much would it weight a 14x20, 8x12 and 14x14 kit (triple flange, no diecast). Thanks so much!
please finish that single flange snare
My local used drum seller guy doesn’t include the Tom holders either. It’s kinda annoying... when you buy them new they do so why why wouldn’t they used?
What’s your asking price for the Tama snare drm ?....
Why wouldn’t you keep the fibes snare original? That throw off looks way cooler than most.
Can make a direct drive conversion kit?
Like who loves RDAVIDr
Hi, I looking for a 60’s or 50’ Ludwig 4 kit, if you know about this, I appreciate your advise, thanks buddy!
Never realized you were all off into building and trading.
the bearing edges on the fibes look a bit beat up, are you going to reshape them?
I guess you can still use a regular routing bit on it.
Hey Mr. David, I’m not sure if you read your comments, but I wanted to ask you a question. Before quarantine, I started playing the kit in my church. I strictly had to stick to snare, hats, and the ride cymbal due to lack of room. I recently learned that it’s possible to convert a 14” floor tom into a fully functional kick drum. Not only would it expand my creativity with some of the church songs, but I think that it would be a pretty cool experiment. Would you be willing to help me out this summer?
16’s have better punch
Whenever I go to your reverb page, it never has anything on it (says "0 listings"). Is it because you don't ship to Canada?
Did you sell the King Beat?
Dya have a free or unused kit? Or snare? Need one 😂😅
a CHINA named WUHAN? coronavibes
would you be willing to trade cymbals mine are not very good but u could most likely put them to good use
Hey David, are you trying to get rid of that 15x12 marching Ludwig snare? If so, how much man?
I sold it a couple weeks ago actually. I do have a 14x10 stainless marcher though.
@@rdavidr ahhhh maaaaan! All good!
I'm pretty keen on the 15x12 (I already got 2 14x10's and wanted something heavier and deeper)
Feel free to give me a shout if you ever come across another tri-banded Ludwig man!
Great tip for everyone:
If you want to sell a Gretsch drum set, and you miss one of the lugs, you can buy Millennium lugs! These are way cheaper, the only differences are that a Millennium lug is smaller, and it has no stripes on the lug
WHATS UR REVERB PAGE
DO you have any drum kits for sale for $150?
Sadly Faust Drum is long out of business and they actually ended up tearing the building down.
Id like to trade you you but it’s to much money considering the duty tax e
Overhere in 🇨🇦 we always pay more for everything on anything i try to buy from us the price goes like crazy taxe duty taxe duty taxe duty it never stops that make me sick But Canada is a very nice place to live love what yoou do i kindda do the same in Québec 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦👏👏🥁🥁🥁🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
can you acknowledge my existence
Your reverb account is empty bro! What do you have in 15" snares or shells in general? I'm even considering a 15" floor tom for snare conversion...
I had a 15x12 tama superstar tom from the 80s. Black paint outside, natural inside. Sounded like thunder.
Not so sure about that slingerland butcher.
Trust me, nothing on that drum was salvageable. I tried to restore it in its originality first, but it just didn’t work out. Sounds cool now though.
dylan jaco that looked like a museum piece to me.
Astronaut yeah I’m not in the business of giving things to rich people when they have tons of them already.
But if you hit all the antique stores in your area I’m sure you’ll find one, or something close to it. This one was found in an estate sale where the building collapsed and there was tons of water damage. The shell is misshapen, the hardware so rusted that it fell apart, and the hoops were completely warped and cracked. I gave this drum a new life, it now sits in a practical application, so maybe we just have a basic philosophical difference, but I hope you can find one to donate to a museum or whatever lol.
dylan jaco dude I don’t have that reference on the availability of those type of drums. I’m on the other side of the pond. And in a country where people over-estimate even an 80s Tama. So no 50’s Slingys on sight. By the photo it didn’t look that bad. Have a nice one.
Astronaut there’s tons of them here. They’re like 150 dollars online. These were the most the most basic of slingerlands marchers, they’re well documented, but I have no need for a 30’s parade snare. So given that the makeup of the shell is the exact same as the new dw mahogany snares that cost upwards of 900 dollars, it only makes sense to put new hardware on it.
Wanna trade that fibes snare system for something?
Sorry, I already sold those parts.
Ah finally. My drugs is here
5:36 "$165" Video says $115
Do you just buy and sell drum shit for a living? Or is it just a side hustle?
Reach 300k subs then do a kit giveaway lol
6th comment
Wuhan.
Selling a Wuhan cymbal must be a tough thing to do in 2020. :D
I dunno why but I hate Ludwig. I dislike the design, especially the lugs. They look…cold and hard. Am I the only one?
What is wrong with your voice?
