Thank you so much for sharing your experiences! The part where you discuss teachers breaking your spirit, really resonated with me. I will never forget in HS, the GUIDANCE counselor (a woman) of all people, literally told me "Oh don't go into fashion, you'll never make it". That shattered me. I somehow had the courage to not let it break me. I went on and became a fashion designer regardless of what she said to me, and I am very successful at it. It's sad that there are adults in the education field, who are crushing dreams and spirits. Great episode, thank you ladies.

As a woman of color it’s hard to walk into a room with confidence bc a lot of times people feel like you don’t belong there anyway or that you are just going to have a bad attitude & that’s not true. It’s like we always have to “prove” ourselves more than others & it’s crazy bc a lot of times we be the smartest in the room but “they’ll” never tell us that or let us feel like we are.
In 2021 I found out that my purpose is to inspire, encourage, and help build confidence in others. I have a gift of writing I love to write poetry. One day I’m going to publish my first book and it will be a New York Times best seller. I have began walking in my purpose and using my gift and one day I will become who and what God has called me to be. And ladies if I find out that this ain’t my purpose I believe all of what I’m doing is leading me to purpose.

I love and appreciate your vulnerability Shameka bc I went through a phase of feeling exactly that after having my last child bc I was a stay at home mom. I am now learning along my healing journey that I am my biggest critic and I have to apply grace to myself just as much as I do others. I AM VALUABLE & appreciated by my little tribe 🏆🤎

I love this! This definitely matches where I am in my life right now. One thing I can share is that to better understand my temperament, my tendencies, my personality, strengths and weaknesses I took a accredited personality test. It gave me a lot of insight. It even helped me see why the gifts I starting to realize I have fit me so well. So if your someone who is interested in psychology or if not it’s just a really interesting look at how your personality is broken down. You’ll learn something new about yourself and def have a 💡moment. (Answer honestly 😏if you decide to take it.)

I believe everyone has a purpose and I think it can be more than one. I think your gift is different but it ties to your purpose. I think we have self purposes too and when we find our true purpose from God and walk in it- that’s great power, that’s value. And we are to serve our purpose to others. There is someone that needs our purpose because our purpose and gift is for others- we must serve it.
