    Come across your video by accident. I wondered how a scallop edge was made. You made it sew easy. I’m going to try adding batting and when fully closed I will quilt it to give it a little structure. Thank you for the video.

      I would use different fabric pattern on the front and back of the placemat so it is reversible. I also think an oval placemat is more desirable so I would adjust the paper pattern before cutting.

    Thanks for the wonderful tutorials - Where can I purchase the Mexican print fabric? I love those.

    • @TheSewingRoomChannel
      @TheSewingRoomChannel  Před 7 lety

      Hi Valsala. I purchase my fabrics from many different fabric stores including internet fabric web sites. I don't remember where I bought this particular fabric. I recommend going on the internet. Enter "quilt fabric" and many different web sites will appear. It is easier to scan those web sites than to run around to different local fabric stores. Happy sewing.

    When do you iron on the interfacing?

    • @TheSewingRoomChannel
      @TheSewingRoomChannel  Před 5 lety

      Hi Katherine. There are 2 ways - cut a square of your fabric and the iron on interfacing that is slightly larger than your placemat - follow the fusing steps that come with the iron interfacing - then cut the scallop placemat out. Or, go to about 9 minutes into the video and follow how it was fused on. Happy sewing.

    At what point would i quilt this, after its done or before?

    • @TheSewingRoomChannel
      @TheSewingRoomChannel  Před 5 lety

      Hi Beth. Put the fuse the interfacing on before you stitch the front and back together. I would do the quilting stitches after it is turned front side out. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

      @TheSewingRoomChannel  Před 5 lety
