- For a quick and inexpensive way to jazz up your dinner table consider making a set of diy self-binding placemats. They can be themed to any event you can imagine - Easter, Halloween, Christmas, special birthdays, anniversaries. They are so easy to make using our visuals (we believe in the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words), and our step-by-step instructions. You can use fabric from your stash or buy some stunning fabric for the fronts - you only need one yard or 1 meter to make the front of four placemats and the same amount of plain fabric for the backing and self-binding. Let’s get creative together!

Loved this video, easy to follow..would recommend to everyone.
Thank you so much! Glad it has been of help
Thank you! I am putting this on my list of to sews but for anyone else doing likewise, please note the following discrepancies noted between the video and the measurements in the written directions as it relates to standard to metric measurement conversion:
Step 1 - sizes of cut fabric shown in video are different than written
Step 2 - the 1/4" in each corner shows as 6 cm in video but are correctly written as 6mm.
Oh these conversions! Yes, it is 6mm. Thanks for pointing it out
I just checked out the measurements, it would work either way. In the written tutorial, the all measurements are +1cm. I guarantee the same awesome results no matter which measurements you decide to use. However, to keep it simple I will probably change the measurements in the written tutorial
great directions, thanks!
What size is the outer material l am getting confused.
