WB Yeats' remains are to be found here and Bram Stoker, the writer of Dracula, is believed to have been inspired by castles in Sligo.

my ancestors came from county sligo. it is a very beautiful place. as is all of ireland. someday i want to visit. i love the irish people.

Sligo is an incredible county expectional scenery were not like or mayo neighbours who never ever ever ever shut up talking about themselves ie sligo is stunningly beautiful from an extremely proud sligo man

I am a Hannigan of Sligo decent. Grand fathers parents were from here. Visited in 2016, it made me sad. To think what was going on that would make you leave paradise. Many of our ancestors did just that brave men and women. Same can be said about anyone risking it all on a move.

My Grandfather born in 1916 came from Sligo. It was that poor he and one of his brothers moved to Belfast in the late 1930's seeking work. They became successful business men living in the suberbs of East Belfast.

A great place to live, if only we could get some new town planners, that are not dirty and corrupt, so that people wanting toinvest there can get projects going.they have cost good Irish people too much money for too long.when will they be sacked?
