  • This video features what I believe are my best races in the GwA tournament series that just ended last week. Furthermore you also get to meet ME, the person behind the channel! I was going to release this video regardless of what my results in the GwA tournament series was, and since there will not be a Tournament upload from me this week as I'm going to miss Alex's Mirror Tournament for personal reasons, it gives me perfect excuse to release this video in it's place.

I believe I already did commentary on most (I probably missed Weeks 7 and 8 because of Wave 5 dropping) of these races in the weeks in which they were originally uploaded, so my first objective this time around is to see if I can spot the "Remy cameos". 😆
Before getting into that, though. I just gotta say one thing. You *DO* resemble the Rated-R Superstar, the Ultimate Opportunist, after this face reveal. As long as there's nothing like January 9, 2006 (I won't go into details on *this* reference anytime soon, so if you don't get it, don't worry about it), we're good. 👍
    7:15
It's Scooty Puff Sr., albeit an outdated version with the stat changes in between then and now. The tires are now Crimson Slim, but you can clearly see they were Roller when this tournament was played.
After watching this race again, I think I did better than my commentary during Week 3 suggested. There were some points in the middle of the race where the lone Bowser snuck into second place that I don't recall noticing during that commentary. Regardless, finishing second and having been featured in yet another video is a good finish no matter what happened the first couple laps. 😄
    14:08
Looks like a Rosalina (which I thought was a Baby Rosalina until I saw the race results that showed one adult Rosalina and no Baby Rosalinas) ran up against your Wiggler's backside, and the fact that I don't remember saying anything of this nature for this particular race before suggests that I somehow missed this week. Or just have a bad long-term memory. Either/or.
If you "didn't trail", then the Rosalina must have made contact right as you pressed the button to throw at wind.
    18:46
Not a "Remy cameo" in the traditional sense, but look at Jacob's chosen Mii for this race. 😈 I wonder if that explains the laughter at the end of this week's featured race. 🤔
Also, big oofs for Jacob and wind, as while this race was good for George finishing first, they were 11th and 12th. Waluigi Pinball struck again, I guess.
    21:31
Seeing the Wiggler drivers here and not in any prior week suggests that it was Weeks 7 and 8 that I skipped due to Wave 5 dropping. I have already edited my comment (before submitting, so there's no "(edited)" attached to the comment as of yet), but I initially thought it was Weeks 5 and 6 that I missed.
    21:57
Or maybe I only missed Week 7 because I do remember talk of Kamek "being bad luck". The only explanation I have for remembering this is that I must've made my Mii of Kefka Palazzo in between Weeks 7 and 8 but still didn't feel up for actually racing in a GwA tournament in Week 8. Or maybe it was Alex banning Miis from racing that kept Kefka (and thus me, as this is clearly a Wave 5 week) on the sidelines.
    24:14
I think this tournament was meant to be the Wave 5 drivers as the only ones eligible, as suggested by 4 Kameks and a Wiggler with 6 COMs and Sably using Mario, which means I have no idea what was going through Sably's mind for this race.
    26:07
Not related to the featured race in this video, but one of the reasons for my delay in watching this video was that I was practicing for next week's Trash Combo tournament, having Morton drive the Roy at the Mall combo in Shiori Novella's Mario Kart stream that was less than an hour after Alex's ended. Sadly, you won't see any footage of what I'm about to say, since I couldn't get into Shiori's lobby, but I did have a race at Sydney Sprint where two other Novelites threw the Spiny Shell at me. Knowing a second was coming, I waited as long as I could to use the Super Horn, and it ended up barely getting used in time to defend against the first *and* barely in time for the sound ripples to catch the second.
    29:00
Oh no. I know how this post-race celebration goes. Just know that I have a 150cc combo prepared for trolling the entire GwA community on the 23rd, and when you see my combination of inward bike and glider, you'll see how you in particular are getting trolled. Driver's likely to be trolling Matthew and NEON while inward bike (regardless of glider) will be trolling wind and tires are my go-to for trolling in general, so if you can figure out what the parts are from these hints, I'll reveal the glider in a reply. 😆
    31:30
Yep. This was *EXACTLY* what I was thinking of with my previous timestamp. 🤣 -You're welcome, future viewers.-
    33:23
I know I said this during the original video featuring this race, but I gotta say it again. *MAKE ME LARGE!*
    36:50
Ah, the Halloween tournament, where Oddball was denied entry. Which is why I used "From Indonesia with Love" to time trial Electrodrome in November... and the funniest thing is I've uploaded an even faster Electrodrome time trial for if/when Alex decides to make the rules for one of his tournaments go against what I was hoping to do in the tournament in question. Which could happen with a 200cc tournament (as I need Lemmy or The Rosalina of Youth as my driver and Cushion or Sponge tires for 200cc) or next year's Halloween tournament (as Oddball needs to be involved in one of these, and who knows if Alex will ever let him?).
    42:41
In the middle of the minimap, you can see a Funky Kong. This may or may not be another "Remy cameo".
    43:12
Definitely a "Remy cameo" here, so that Funky Kong referenced in the previous timestamp is indeed me taking my usual Yoshi Valley route.
    43:22
Taking the route I alluded to in the previous timestamp that you could see me take on the minimap 2 timestamps ago.
For the Remy performance, my favorite in this video was the one with Scooty Puff Sr. For the Justin post-race commentary, it's either Waluigi Pinball or Paris Promenade. For the race itself, probably the Yoshi Valley race with the Kongs.

I don't know what made me think of Edge as I recorded the face reveal. It kinda came out of left field. I knew someone like you would appreciate the reference, but to think I would hear that I resemble the "Rated R Superstar" actually caught me off guard. lol
7:15 Remy sighting. Scooty Puff Sr with now what is the wrong tires. lol Good job on securing the 2nd. I know Daisy was uncatchable in that race
14:08 I meant to correct this error in this video through text because I did trail and Rosalina slammed right into me just as I did, but of course it slips my mind in post-production.
18:46 BEHOLD THE GREAT SAGE GEORGE BEFORE HE BECAME THE GREAT SAGE. lol Of course you would notice the "Oddball" of the room curtesy of Jacob's brilliance. What the laughter at the end of the video was about however, was the fact that people were cheering for George in Alex's live chat (including Alex himself). When did George, a character I threw into this tournament last second, get so popular?
Mind you, George is not a new character. He's a recurring character I have been using for years. Well over a decade old.
21:31 I don't remember exactly which of these videos you missed, but what I do remember is that you skipped every single one of my livestreams during this period.
21:57 Possibly. Your commentary on Week 8 really stood out because when I said I fired Kamek in favor of Wiggler in the video, you came back with a Vince McMahon reference. "YOU'RE FIRED"
24:14 I don't remember the specifics either, being that this season was 23 videos long for me so its inevitable I'm going to forget things that really don't stand out. I didn't notice that Sably was running Mario.
26:07 Custom items I'm assuming? Because that's the only time things like this can happen. I hope Roy at the Mall survived the race. Speaking of, I hope ROY AT THE MALL is selectable in next week's tournament.
29:00 Oh dear... Why do I feel like it has something to do with Link? lol
31:30 GO LINK! Seriously I can't watch this without laughing at myself because its so cringe. lol
33:23 In a moment like that, it just felt I was shrunk for longer than usual. MAKE ME LARGE!
36:50 Hey Alex, don't ban Oddball. OR ELSE. lol
42:21 There's a Funky Kong. That Funky Monkey just took the Cannon Glider. lol
43:12 Coining up? Or just going there to stay out of trouble?
      43:22 "Where's Remy going?" LOL
Looking back like this brings back memories, doesn't it? It seems the Yoshi Valley race with the Kongs is the best race in the entire video. My favorite is the Week 4 Waluigi Stadium as it clearly won in terms of excitement in my view.
I hope I can put "GO LINK" behind me now. lol Thanks for your commentary as usual.

The biggest difference between the Edge that I remember as the Rated-R Superstar and your face reveal is I don't recall Edge having facial hair (or if he did, certainly no mustache) back then, so I don't know why you would be caught off guard by me saying something that you drew attention to in the intro. 😆
      7:15
A lot of my fun combos will probably never catch your Daisy. Especially in these Alex tournaments. After all, you put Daisy in the best position you can to win while I try to balance good performances with goofy fun (and often end up with too much goofy and not enough points on the leaderboard).
      14:08
No worries. Any future viewer who takes the time to read my lengthy comment (and your reply) will figure out what happened. 😄
      18:46
Meanwhile, I was so dense that night that I didn't pick up on you being George until watching your video and seeing we had a *LOT* of races together that tournament. Talk about a "future shock" (another wrestling reference, this one involving the only time I was ever a fan of Adam Cole).
I think George might be getting close to 20 years, since I recall him being a student of Eddie Guerrero's.
      21:31
Yeah. In between Wave 5 dropping and Kefka Palazzo being one of my Miis, I was in a bit of a Mario Kart existential crisis. On several occasions, I've credited my Mii of Kefka with bringing me back to the game, but now that we're in a world in which Wave 6 has dropped, I think all Kefka did was bring me back 3-4 months sooner than I otherwise would have returned.
If only L.A. had stayed the way it was in the 1980s, there probably would have never been a need for my hiatus. I say "probably" because Laps is still a jank course even without the L.A. references, easily the worst non-traffic Tour city course in the Booster Pass (and it's a coin flip whether Laps or Berlin is worse if we look solely at gameplay mechanics).
      21:57
The way I mimicked Vince McMahon was definitely my crowning achievement in terms of Wave 5 commentary, with commentary on Link at Paris (when that video was new) and the Hololive references (which have quickly become a staple of my commentary ever since I discovered the Advent generation) being the only other things that come close.
      26:07
I don't remember how Shiori set the items, as this was a reused tournament that she created about 2 or 3 weeks prior, but Custom is the most likely situation for 2 Spiny Shells heading Morton's way at Sydney.
Roy At The Mall was 100% safe, considering Roy wasn't even driving at the incident in question. 😆
I'm sure Alex will allow Roy At The Mall in his Trash Combo tournament. I'm hoping he'll consider all of the possibilities I provided in my comment on his Community post yesterday, as there's a lot of mix-and-match involved with the parts I suggested.
      29:00
If you read my original commentary here more carefully, it's pretty obvious that the inward bike for my 150cc troll combo is the *Master Cycle* (as I did say it would be trolling wind, who's known for using the horse).
As for the glider, stay tuned for the next part of commentary.
      31:30
Well excUse (this capitalization is the best way I could come up with to add emphasis on the U here) me, princess. 😆
As promised in the previous timestamp, a glider reveal is coming here. The glider on my 150cc troll combo is the Peach Parasol. You know, because Peach is a *princess* (and Zelda is the princess referred to in the opening line of this timestamp, as you certainly know from when this race was first recorded and uploaded).
      36:50
Or else Oddball... is gonna sic Father Boo... on Alex. 👻😆👑
      42:21
Not the cannon glider, though getting the extra coin (4, as opposed to the 3 I collected on my "normal" route) and item box (there are items in the cannon, which makes this a "natural bagging" route for the maze) could be worthwhile if I feel like my only chance at winning is by bagging.
      43:12
Could be both, as I don't recall what my coin count was in the second lap. Staying out of trouble is the primary reason why I settled on this route for Yoshi Valley against live competition. Of course, in single-player (either in time trials or VS races, but not a Grand Prix anymore as I already had all the 3-star trophies in the base game before finding the GwA community), I still take the bridge because it really is fastest (as I found out by comparing my coin route with the bridge route in time trials, and the bridge was indeed faster).
      43:22
That's the question that prompted all 3 of these Yoshi Valley timestamps. 😆
Reliving these memories was a blast, and re-reliving them through your response (which led to my response just now) has been another blast. 😄
I doubt you'll *ever* put "go Link!" behind you, at least not as long as I remember it... and I'll certainly be remembering for the 150cc tournament because of the combo I have waiting for it. 😈
