Depending on a map this strategy may prevent you from getting 5 starts because of finishing too late. But this is still a good approach if you straggle to complete a level.
you can just run barricades across the bottom of the main staircase (leaving 1 gap towards the side where the grinder is and run an offset barricade to push them up the down-ramp on that side.) because they can come back down the other side - meaning that there is only 1 hallway you have to defend. :) easy 5 skull. it totals 4 double barricades if placed properly (remember orcs can't get trough a place where two corners meet.)
This was the most difficult map to get 5 skulls on for me. I found butterfly windows and dart traps critical for getting through the first 3 waves on this map (barricading only one side of the top of course), leaving each in place and building out all the entrances with more before starting to barricade the portal on wave 4. I also like to use the crossbow thanks to its stun ability to keep item slots free and not carry the ice amulet and mana trinket.
Yes I love how flexible this game is, allowing for an infinite variety of loadouts and setups! Looking forward to seeing and hearing more more about other people's approaches!
